I loved going to Faith for about five years. There I met a community of committed Christians, who,…read morewhile more conservative than I, tended to focus on issues and problems that united the church rather than those that divide it. I served for years on the Hospitality team, just doing things like making strawberry basil lemonade and cucumber mint water for hundreds at a time, plus the monthly waffle night where we made hundreds of Belgian waffles with all the possible accoutrements. But I discovered my welcome was skin deep, even to those who pretended to love me (I'd even flown the Atlantic to cater a picnic in Paris for them), as I struggled with issues of homosexuality. The teaching staff was woefully undereducated on this issue, which was surprising considering it's massive impact in the culture wars. Long story short: I was given an ultimatum that I must not ever publicly state that homosexual relationships could be of equal moral value to heterosexual ones. If I didn't comply, I'd no longer be welcome. I didn't, and left, deeply hurt by the knowledge that my ostensible friends and "church family" chose their comfortable, lazy church where no one really questions anything over a deep, fruitful relationship of years standing.

I have been a member of Faith my whole life and have always felt welcome. The community of people…read moreare so welcoming and friendly. The hospitality team is very helpful and even during COVID-19 they have made it their goal to share the gospel with as many people as possible. If you are looking for a good Evangelical church, this is the place to be.

Applause to some great sermons I have heard here and the worship is blessed. When I first went to…read moreFoundations, I had no idea about the history. Evidently, they broke off from another church due to the adultery of the old pastor. Props to them for breaking away and starting new with a new pastor in a spirit of holiness. Have heard a lot of good sermons. At the same time, I am concerned about several things. Jesus Himself said that the church is full of true born again believers who are walking as Christ directs (the sheep) and make believers (the goats) who attend church but are not in Christ (carnal). One day, the truth will be exposed as to who is in which category. What is going on with the some prayer team leaders and the small group ministry at Foundations? They let a gal who was booted off of the prayer team in her old church in Berthoud lead the Wednesday prayer group and is quite controlling. People go to her group and often never return. I heard through the grapevine that the guy who started the prayer team says she has a demon. He is prone to saying people he doesn't like have a demon (a Jezebel spirit, a Leviathon spirit). Is this spiritual abuse? Competition, lust for power and slander prevails while Jesus weeps. Then there is M, an elderly lady on the prayer team who criticizes the pastor and the church in the way they do things. Why is she allowed on the prayer team. Small Group Leadership: I listened to the guy who coaches people who want to lead a small group. The impression several of us get is that if you want to lead a group, you cannot be too honest about what the Bible says if someone asks a question. We love everyone here, including gays and trans. A gay married couple wanted to be in a leadership position and were disappointed when told no. Pastor speaks plainly about homosexuality being a sin, but did anyone feel okay with telling them in love and gentleness in the small group? Did they try to help them out of this sinful lifestyle? I call this "Christianity Light" where no one can be too honest in the group about the Word because someone might be offended. Is Jesus weeping? Is He a fan of all of this?

I am deeply proud to call Foundations Church my home church. In early fall of 2017 my marriage was…read morein trouble, and with very powerful effective means this team jumped to the rescue! My marriage now is better than it has ever been. In my experience the leadership has demonstrated uncommonly raw honesty, authentic vulnerability and unwavering commitment to reach the lost and hurting souls (Christian and non-Christian alike) in Northern Colorado. You will find they have a ministry that doesn't pull punches and tells the truth about sexual bondage, internet pornography, marital struggles, addiction, financial health, sharing the good news with your neighbors, and so much more. In today's cultural climate it is very encouraging to get reinforced here. My kids are grown, but I can tell they have a pretty amazing children's ministry. The worship band frequently drives me to tears. There are lots of special events and opportunities to get involved and connected in small groups.
