I ended up with a cool 2014 Diary (in Italian), a panoramic postcard, and lots of ideas of what I could do in this area, if only I had a "few" more days to explore.

Piazza delle Erbe is described as a small square hidden amid the labyrinthine alleys that snake through the city's medieval quarter. Also mentioned are that: - There are no fewer than a half-dozen bars, two restaurants, a pizzeria and a gelateria. - Tables from the nearby establishments spill out onto the square, providing prime real estate for gazing at the hipper-than-thou young crowd. - It is teeming with unpretentious night life. Gayle and I (both of us being classic hipsters) came for a mid-afternoon snack, and while the Piazza while interesting and in some ways medieval charming, it wasn't teeming all that much. I also found the Square to be a bit old City tattered and underloved. At the same time, it was a nice sunny day, the sparse "crowd" (including business folks, delivery workers, and an occasional homeless guy) was interesting, there was a number of fine establishments to choose from, Bigge service was very nice, and it was great to just hang out and relax.

I had to print some music last minute while in Genoa and the owner of the shop was very nice about…read moremy incredibly mangled Italian and then switched to English. I could use the computers upstairs for free to access my email and printed 40 pages for 4 euro - much cheaper than at a kinkos in the united states! Downstairs were multiple copiers and you could print in color and black and white. It seemed like they had many fine binding options as well. The owner was so nice. Highly recommended!
