Cleveland Singles Lock & Key Event I attended one of the Cleveland Singles Lock & Key events and was pleasantly surprised by how well-organized it was. The event started on time, the hosts explained everything clearly, and the staff stayed helpful and encouraging throughout the evening. You could tell they really wanted everyone to have fun and feel comfortable. It's a lively atmosphere -- definitely more social than serious -- and while most attendees were genuinely friendly, there were a few "regulars" who seemed to be there just for the sport of collecting matches, which can be a little annoying. But honestly, that's just part of human behavior at these types of events. Even though I didn't make any love connections or end up going on dates afterward, I met a lot of quality people and had some great conversations. I'd recommend this event for anyone who wants to get out, make new friends, and maybe find a spark along the way. The cost was absolutely worth the evening -- a well-run event, fun crowd, and no pressure to be anything other than yourself. They are all too happy to take your money and not explain the "extra" upsells, like charges for photos that need retaken and charged every 2 years at $500+. After your photos are over, they notify you of upcharges to actually email in their system to others or send one-liners of interest beyond their engagement "standard." So if you want to be able to write an email, that's another couple hundred (they have limited and longer term "packages.") It's scammy as they sell this highly motivated people BS. Well the age group of 18-35, there are less than 30 women... Waste of time and money. They put you into a contract after charging you an exorbitant amount (which you can negotiate down, but STILL not worth it). The concierge services they offer and events include experiences such as meeting at Olive Garden or a bowling alley. I cannot stress how great they sell the sales pitch, working on figuring out what makes you happy, negotiating you into a "deal" of a contract and then using it to upsell and upcharge you later. They knew that this was something new for me and that I was a bit scared to dive into dating after being single for a handful of years. They have coached and guided me throughout my membership. I really feel taken by this service. I paid a lot of money to start talking to people and in the year I've been on I have sent numerous messages, only one response. I have better luck on the online sites. At least people talk. When I called I was told I needed to give it more time. Truly a disappointment. Before you join think twice. The people who sell the memberships lie. They promise you everything and deliver nothing. They will tell you these are serious men looking for a serious women. The sales staff is excellent - they really make you think things will be different from other sites and I know she made me believe that someone might actually be interested in me. She was going to be my dating coach - that is until I agreed to the contract. Then I did not see her any further. When I had concerns and complaints, she could not be reached. Pictures? Oh yeah - pay in advance for another set within 2 years - requirement. Money wasted as I have stopped participating. I agree with Marc and Mike - people do not respond back. The two that did, were totally unacceptable - way below the standard of quality that had been presented to me. I also could not get out of the contract because there is only a 3-day option - I did not even get my pictures and get started until two weeks after signing my contract!
