Used to be a nursery/garden centre that you could purchase decent plants, shrubs, flowers etc. On our last two visits we have seen how the standard of these have deteriorated. However, the increase of pots/teapots. ceramics. clothing, cd's, dvd's, books, confectionery and all manner of other non-garden items has turned this place into a Bog-standard boring shop. I've always been amazed at the profusion of flowers, shrubs, trees on display, and the garden essentials, furniture, tools, toiletries, and books etc. A great eclectic mix of many essentials. Not forgetting their dining opportunities in lovely surroundings. Today ( 10/09/20 ) I had occasion to buy more bulbs etc, and to return for advice on an expensive plant purchased last year which had died. I was attended to by Tony who was very helpful and friendly, advising me that the plant that I had purchased had persisted, and he told me that I could get further assistance on this by another member of staff in the plant department. This time I met Kim, who looked at my sad plant remains, and suggested it had been attacked by weavels . Kim kindly told me that the plant would be replaced free of charge, and then gave me a lot of information re. Planting and care of it. These two members of staff went far beyond my expectations, and were a credit to Newbridge. Thank you both. I will remain with this nursery and highly recommend it.

Johnny and Billy, both well informed salesmen, looked after us with Johnny doing the final price negotiations . The goods arrived within a few days, delivered by two charming men who unpacked and assembled everything to our satisfaction. They took all the packaging away for recycling . From start to finish we have enjoyed a first rate experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Oaktree and their staff.

Our house is in lower Morden so if you live a bit outside Croydon don't be put off. They have been extremely professional, skilled and friendly during the consultation, quotation and installation of our driveway. I wasn't really expecting such a good experience as you never know with builders, but my husband and I have been very happy. They were very helpful with our questions about styles of driveway and materials and didn't try to push us into what might be a cheaper or easier choice for them. They quoted us a very reasonable price to do the driveway and side porch plus a new step to the door and to fix our side gate. I won't name the price here as every driveway is different but we checked with neighbours and feel that we got a good deal by comparison. They also said they would do the job in 3 days but actually finished in 2 days which is great. They had a few guys on the job who worked from 8am to 5pm both days, and the guys were clearly very skilled at their jobs. We are really impressed and love our new driveway. Thanks guys!

Taylor Paving come as 'professionals', however they are far from it. They will cut corners when…read morethey can, use cheap materials without your knowledge and provide a sub-standard service. We contracted them for two jobs, our front patio and our back garden. The first job wasn't great, they said they'd make a hardcore base 20cm deep, but in the end they didn't bother because 'the ground is already hard enough'. Great. i should get a discount right? because they're using less materials...nope they said the price doesn't go up or down regardless of what they promised they'd do. Fine whatever, only a few hundred quid, i won't make a fuss about it. Then they convinced us to make a flower bed around some trees we had which we agreed to, but then never bothered to finish the job. Never dug out the ground, nor did they even clean up the rubble or put any soil in. I asked what they'd do about it, but they kept giving empty promises, 'We'll get to it later once we finish your back garden'. So the front patio was done, with the excess bricks left infront of our house (the ones that were supposed to be used instead of the flower beds) and a pile of sand left in the corner of our garden. Everything was promised to be sorted out at a later time which we reluctantly agreed to. On to the second job. Things got a bit delayed as suppliers were late with the delivering the slabs i'd picked out, but i was pressured to buy other ones so they could get the job done ASAP. Again they didn't bother to use any hardcore using the same reasoning which i asked about again, but got the same response. So everything seemed to be going okay, they were laying the slabs down as planned. The problems started on the final day, when the laying of the slabs were done (rather hastly as evidenced by mortar sticking out of certain slabs) they asked me to provide them with the jointing compound, the stuff that goes inbetween the joints of the slabs. I bought Marshall's jointing compound which is a recognised name in builders merchants and top quality stuff, only for them to not follow the instructions written clearly on the packaging. They did not compress the jointing compound, they did not bother to brush off the excess compound off the slabs and they done a horrendous job on the edgings. this resulted in the slabs being stained, edges looking horrible and the compound stuck to the slabs. I spent a full day trying to scrub off (extremely hard and sticky) compound from the slabs as when i called to explain the situation they didn't wanna hear it. They said it's my problem now and they've done their part. Extremely unprofessional and aggressive. Now i'm left with stained granite slabs, with no compensation or even a sorry. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, unless you're looking for disappointment.

Both Adrian Hall Garden Centre and Marc's last home and are in East Sheen however to quote Qype themseves East Sheen is listed as a suburb and not a district as Mortlake. Qype have only listed districts, not suburbs. That is why they are correctly listed as 'Mortlake'.

I have been coming to this garden centre regularly for a number of years. Either way my last few visits have been far more pleasant.) The range of plants is excellent for such a small centre and if they don't have it, they can normally source it for you. There's a nice selection of pots and garden ornaments too, and I recently purchased some stone chippings through them, which was delivered for a pretty cheap fee and by a really pleasant gentleman. This isn't the cheapest place to buy garden stuff but the quality is always exceptional and definitely worth coming back to for that.

Whenever I have sought advice on plants it has been freely given by the very helpful staff all of whom seem genuinely interested in the plants and the well being of their customers. Notcutts in Bagshot has a great pet shop with a resident giant rabbit and many hand tame birds such as parrots and miner birds which are able to fly free in the shop. This makes for a unique experience and a sure hit with the kids. The animals all look well cared for and the staff seem to know their stuff. One let down is the aquarium centre. Here, in contrast to the pet shop, the fish do not look to be in such good condition. In fact, on my last visit, there seemed to be several fish in several tanks that were either dead or clearly unwell. It may have been that these were hospital tanks but there was no indication that this was the case and in any event it seemed to be isolated fish that were affected. The cafe is great and reasonably priced. The Christmas Exhibition (starting in late Oct!) is worth a visit in itself!

The store isnt very well laid out and the displays were very heavy making it feel slightly claustraphobic. One of the nice things about this garden centre is that in their shrub area they always have a nice stock of Acers in (the trees, not the computers), and they're very reasonably priced.

The eastern European lady in the café was grumpy and reminded me of the service experience in East Berlin worker diners prior to German reunification. The owner who I think is middle eastern was cheerful and engaged with the customers. The most interesting part of Ansells is the aquatics centre where one can buy a range of fish, for an aquarium not to eat I hasten to add!
