It's 3:46pm PST and I have not received ANY call from NEMS. No text, no call.... Nada. Zero! God help those who get assigned to NEMS. Better go to urgent care! You're not going to get any help at NEMS if you have any health concern.

However, I did end up pressing options to speak to an advice nurse, and she was great about getting back to me, even setting up my appointment. The advice nurse is Pat, and she was so helpful on the phone and in person. She ended up dropping in when I was about to get my 4, that's right 4 pricks, immunizations. She talked to me and advised me to breathe. May was doing the injections, and she was nice too. Being in medical facilities isn't a pleasant experience for me; I actually avoided getting any kind of health care for 9 years. So it helps a great deal when people are nice and informative. Pat really went out of her way to be helpful and kind; I really appreciate that. Shots aren't fun, but the company during them can make a world of difference with how painful the experience can be...yeah, it hurt, but it was very easy to get over it. So yay for me getting immunizations over with, and yay for Silver Ave. Health Center for offering great service.

Using the online portal to reserve a visit time is easy. Clean spacious waiting area. Modern interior design and examination rooms are very spacious. I have been attended to by a doctor and or a nurse practitioner and every time they have been knowledgeable and helpful. They offer medical advice and write prescriptions. Great bedside manner. So if you have the option to use urgent care then I recommend it. For non trauma type issues it's much better than going to emergency room.
