If you're a student make sure you bring your student card cause you'll get 10% off! They have all sorts of cards- lovey dovey and real funny creative ones. They also follow the season so if it's Valentines, Christmas, or whatever, they'll probably have a card for it. As for the gifts- they do sell many little funny and clever gifts you can give to folks. They don't have a lot in stock so if you don't buy things right away and you like em, it'll probably be gone by the time you come back. The staff are extra friendly and will help you as well as have conversations with you. This place is a gem and while the cards can be pricey- it's quality cards.

Scribbler is in many ways a work of genius, and has certainly spotted a gap in the market, and while their cards won't all necessarily have Billy Connolly fearing for his job, there are a few that provide genuine laughs. Much of it crass and concerned with bodily functions, but funny nonetheless. There is a great selection of notebooks, recipe journals and travel organisers as well as some really cute kitchen bits and bobs. They stock a huge selection of cards suitable for every conceivable situation so you will be completely spoilt for choice. Everyone's Designs also has an array of little gifts and presents, such as candles, ornaments and cute kitchen utensils. Although most of the stock in this gift shop is mostly girl orientated, they also sell a gorgeous range of stationary, including notebooks and journals which would be an ideal present for a man. Everyone's Designs is in keeping with the rest of the up market stores in the Bruntsfield area so you know that what will purchase in this store will be of excellent quality. Most of the gifts are very reasonably priced, with cards priced at around two pounds. While you will still see some of the same items here, they have some more unique items as well. What we really liked about this shop was the proprietor. She didn't get cranky because we settled in just before closing. She didn't simply stand behind her counter. She had much to say without us feeling that she was interfering. It was enjoyable to have a nice chat while looking around. We made some purchases as her prices were a bit more reasonable than some of the other places. It was a nice little place that we would certainly stop into again.

They have a small range of different swords of varying sizes and types. According to the DO NOT TOUCH signs, they were battle-ready and sharp (this just makes me want to touch them all the more, but I did manage to resist the temptation). The quality of the items in this shop is a bit higher than in many of the others in the city, and there was also a small range of teddy bears, which is something that you don't often see. I was also welcomed into the shop by the owner, greeting me with a smile and a hello. This is so rarely seen in shops these days, and it's good to see that they're interested in everyone that comes through the doors. On the whole, I would recommend a visit to Neanie Scott if you're looking for a gift or trinket to give to a friend or relative.

The toys are a step up from the type you would find in a pound shop, but not quite high street quality. Saying that, they do have childhood hero Winnie The Pooh in a plush, very cuddly large size. I probably wouldn't get a card in here since they are slightly lower end than the lieks you would find in Clinton. However, it appeals to people on a lower budget and with the choice of ornaments and gifts, is helpful to many when they're hunting for a birthday present.

You can find this shop on Leith's Great Junction Street, one of the main thoroughfares running from the foot of Leith Walk. Inside, you'll find a pretty non-descript card shop, stocking a range of greetings cards for a variety of occasions and events. The 'toy' section is tucked away at the back of the shop, and stocks the sorts of things that you'd see in Pound Stretcher or other such bargain shops. If you're looking for premium toys, this probably isn't the place to go. That said, the range of cards at low prices was not too bad, and the toys would suffice for making up a Halloween costume, or some other fancy dress occasion. Cheap and cheerful is the order of the day here.

Most of the items in this store are quite unique and can't be lumped into the one category. I guess I would describe it as urban chic - a little like Urban Outfitters, but much more unusual. I especially love their wacky jewellery that lionizes dogs, or is just plain beautiful, like their plastic heart necklaces. It's also nice to find somewhere in the UK that stocks the Gamma-Go range. There are so many great gift ideas contained in these four walls, and Present stocks the most innovative, creative gifts you could imagine. I only stumbled upon this place a few days ago but am now going to be a regular. The only thing is, I can't really see me actually buying presents in here - I'll be too busy spending a lot of sweet money on myself!

The shop is only a few weeks old and still lacks a bit of soul, but I'm sure that content wise it will be an esoteric heaven for anybody who likes to read or wants to get more involved into the genres of witches, druids, spells, goddesses, tarot , mystic places in Britain (including the famous stone circles), cults, occults or just simply want to enjoy a fantasy book written by Terry Pratchett. There are plenty of other fantasy books, new and old, but remember that this is a very specific shop entirely focusing on the otherworls and the abstract. You will get inspiration from the shop owner and she appears to know her stuff well about the pagan world. In the back you will find some cozy looking couches and for the future be informed that there could be potentially some interesting esoteric meetups being held and guest speakers being invited to hold some specific topic related speeches. For all the people out there who are interested in the otherworlds, this is a good book shop to go to as you can find many different genres of the esoteric in one place and in addition you have a friendly shop owner who can also advise you, if you have any questions!
