Resurrection Cemetery - Ribbons of loved one's names

Today was a very sad day. We laid to rest my brother-in-law and moved his wife to be with him. How…read moredoes someone comfort a 16 year old who is now an orphan? How do you comfort someone who lost their mom at 3 years old and their dad at 16? How do you walk by the graves of 3 other close friends who were killed tragically in a drunk driving accident? They are buried steps away. My emotions are a wreck today. But the cemetery took wonderful care of us and allowed us plenty of time to pay our respects. They were compassionate. In the end that means so much. The cemetery is beautiful as well. And you feel comforted being there. Plenty of benches and ways to sit and spend time reminiscing. Some things will always crush my heart.

I thought about whether to write a review on a cemetery, and I finally decided it's worth it…read more Yes, it is a place of sadness, but it truly is so much more. It is indeed a beautiful cemetery with well kept grounds, beautiful mausoleum buildings and very nice outdoor crypts. Having family members here in a few different locations, I sometimes drive through and look at the beauty surrounding me with every turn of the roadways. I've stopped and looked at the veteran's section and it also is a sad, but thought provoking place to reflect on the many men and women who fought for our freedom and lost their lives doing so. The bronze statues placed throughout are beautiful to look at because they are truly works of art. I attended the Christmas memorial service that they hold every year, and it was an awesome experience with refreshments and music and a memorial Christmas tree that family members can write messages on ribbons and place them on the tree. The groundskeepers are friendly and helpful. There was a time when I couldn't find a certain burial plot and they took the time to help me find it. All in all, this is one of the most beautiful and scenic cemeteries I've visited.

I was directed to the restroom downstairs where I had some water and sat on the couch to gather myself. A woman (employee) came down and asked who I was there to see, when I replied she said "well this is NOT his lounge and you need to leave" I must have froze and looked at her is disbelief like did I just get reprimanded in a moment of grief? Again she repeated "you need to go" AT NO POINT should anyone act that condescending or blunt to someone mourning. Trust me I wasn't looking for some other families cookie and juice I just wanted to sit away from everyone for a moment. She did not bother to tell me (heaven forbid show me) where the correct lounge was. I was offended, embarrassed, and frankly annoyed that someone could be that rude to another human in mourning who was clearly just turned around and trying to catch a breath. I am a shy 33 year old woman, I was alone, I was quiet and at no point should anyone be treated that way by an employee of ANY place of business ESPECIALLY a funeral home that is supposed to cater to and comfort the hurting. I would not recommend this funeral home based on this interaction alone
