Part of their property includes an abandoned Catholic church that was transformed in the fall of 2018 by world renown artist and Missouri native Nick Cave, into a mesmerizing piece of art entitled Hye Dyve. A 15 minute loop of sight and sound flooded the cathedral and created a dizzying and overwhelming multi-sensory experience. Maybe the most awe inspiring art installation I've ever witnessed. Very cool that Mr. Cave used this out of the way center to showcase a world class exhibit and give Hope Center some exposure too.

There are a few in the Kansas City area. Each one has a social calendar with planned activities. Things like: a book club, art activities, and educational . There is a fitness room where they do group exercise classes plus a workout area with a few cardio, machines and strength training machines that are powered by air pressure... No clinking weights and super easy to adjust. Such a great way for an insurance company to outreach within the community. Absolutely no strings attached! If you want to use the way equipment, they would like for you to do an orientation. Some of the activities require an RSVP because of needing to have an appropriate amount of supplies. The first time you come in you register with the first name and phone number. Every time you visit you check in. That's it! Such a fabulous resource in our community.

Located in Louisburg, KS, it can be a long drive to get there from downtown Kansas City, but it's totally worth it. Our tour guide was very informative, but may have tried to relay too much information as several in our group tended to wander as if losing interest. The group was 50/50 adults and children. The group in front of us moved out of sight while the group behind, caught up and had to wait, due in particular to our guide imparting a lot of information. I was touched by the fact that these animals came from private homes where they were neglected for the most part and in some cases, abused. I think Cedar Cove has done an excellent job caring for these wonderful creatures. It's a drive out but worth the trip to learn and support their efforts.
