I'm not a student at Clipper but my friend Omar is getting his instrument rating there and suggested I come along for one of his lessons. His instructor Darien allowed me to sit in the backseat and tag along for the lesson. It was such a great experience!! Darien was really knowledgeable, a great instructor and made the whole experience really fun and very memorable. I'm not usually one to write reviews, but my experience with Clipper Aviation was so special and significant that I feel compelled to share it. This is my second review here, except now I am actually a Pilot. Maybe someone reading this will get the chance to experience it too. After 18 months of juggling flight training with a full-time job (and trust me, it was a challenge), I can confidently say that the main reason my training was such a success is 100% due to the incredible team at Clipper Aviation, their fantastic planes, and most importantly--my one of a kind instructor. If you're looking for a flight instructor who makes you feel like you're actually learning how to fly and not just hoping for the best when you take off, look no further than Nipun at Clipper Aviation. I can't thank him enough for being both an incredible teacher and a saint. First off, the guy actually cares about making you a SAFE pilot, which, I mean, kinda important, right? I definitely didn't appreciate that enough in the beginning, but after a few "spirited" sessions where we went over the same lessons again...and again...and again, I got the picture. Nipun was patient (like, incredibly patient) and never once made me feel like an idiot when I couldn't remember the difference between a To and a From on a VOR.(spoiler: I still mix them up sometimes) lol. And speaking of nightmares-- Nav logs? I was this close to burning my textbooks, but Nipun walked me through them like a pro, and somehow, we made it work. He's the kind of instructor who will patiently explain things 10 different ways until it clicks. And when it does finally click? It's like the clouds part and the sun comes out. It's magical. If you want an instructor who cares, has patience, and somehow makes the complicated stuff fun (yes, fun), Nipun is your guy. I survived VORs, I survived Nav logs, and with Nipun's help, I'll survived my check ride. I even felt over prepared. Nipun is the best, you won't regret it, and you'll be a much safer pilot for it. 10/10 would recommend. Rented N79KW from Clipper Aviation for a trip up the CA coastline with one of my friends who is an avid flyer! Booked for about 7 hours total. The rental process through Clipper was super seamless and the office was extremely helpful when I called about various options and pricing. Check in was also really straight forward and the aircraft was truly in prime, first class condition. Ive put in about 20 hrs of PPL training here and they really take great care of the planes. The avionics are all up to date glass panels, cosmetically they keep up with the planes and the office area is really tidy. I've been working with CFI's Michael S. and Chris F. they have been a great team pushing me through my fears and showing me how to gain confidence as a student pilot. I recently booked an introductory flight lesson at Clipper Aviation and I have to say, I'm hooked! The offices are clean, uber modern and the staff were welcoming, friendly and professional. My instructor Jeffrey had more nerves than myself because he somehow trusted me to let me take off and land myself. Yes he helped me a bit (okay a lot) but the Cirrus we flew was probably the nicest general aviation plane I've been with. My ride (I don't know how long it was but it felt like 45 min to maybe an hour) had air conditioning, all the latest bells and whistles for an airplane, including satellite radio to listen to music and live weather and traffic updates. It even had air bags and a parachute to help me feel even safer. Jeffrey was kind, patient, personable, answered all my questions and never made me feel as if I knew nothing. Clipper Aviation's Zack Gunner is an outstanding instructor. I recently returned to aviation after years away, during which I let all my certifications lapse. I have about 3150 hours, including 2000 multi of which 1000 is turboprop. I hold an ATP multi-engine land, and commercial single, and rotorcraft helicopter. I have flown part 135 and part 121 for a commuter airline. I once held a CFI, CFII, MEI, and CFI rotorcraft helicopter and now need to take a check ride to reinstate them. I needed to refresh my skills. All that to say I have had many instructors through my career, running the gamut from poor to outstanding. Zack Gunner is one of the most outstanding instructors I have met! On his first lesson with a student, Zack assesses the student's skill and knowledge level and develops a personalized curriculum. After each lesson, Zack gives a verbal critique and then sends a detailed email with each point covered in the training. He details what was acceptable and where improvement is needed. He includes FAA documents as well as other literature and helpful videos of the topics to review. So my wife surprised me for Valentines Day with a discovery flight at Clipper Aviation, since I've been talking about getting my private pilots license. Didn't know what to expect, being they were a new company. Let me tell you, what a spectacular experience!!! First we were met by Asher, one of their flight instructors, because the flight instructor we were scheduled to fly with was in the air. He showed us around the office, and what an awesome space, it was clean, well organized, it even had a mini lounge with snacks for clients. Next Asher took us to the simulator room where they had two state of the art simulators. I was excited when I found out we'd be flying a Cirrus, a 2021 Cirrus Sr20 G6. Cirrus became my dream plane, since I've been researching on getting my license. Wow, brand new plane. We walked back to the office where we met our flight instructor Parsa, he was a awesome guy, he showed us the poster of the cockpit, and went over some safety instructions. Next we sat at one of the desks to talk about our flight plan, once finalized we headed out to the airplane. The plane was a beauty. Brand new. We loaded up and took off. It was a busy day in LA since it was the day after the Super Bowl, so the skies were congested. We took a flight around the Hollywood sign. Once we headed out of LA and into Malibu I was able to take the controls. Parsa is a great instructor. He was patient with me and gave me some great lessons for being my first time in a private plane. Well, all I can say is I'm hooked, addicted to aviation. Thanks Clipper Aviation for sparking the fire. The aviation bug is real, the last few days I've been racking my brain, on how I can afford to get my license because I had such a great experience with Clipper Aviation. I will definitely be using them in my journey to get my private pilots license and surly be using them to rent once I get my license, because they have a new, and well maintained fleet, and I love the Cirrus. Again, thanks for the awesome experience. I wish I started with my flight training with Clipper instead of Cirrus' training center at Mach 1. I switched to Clipper after 30 flight hours, and I am very glad that I didn't stay with Mach 1. First of all, I don't see any old or beaten up aircrafts at Clipper. I prefer to learn on the newest and most advanced aircrafts if I am paying the same amount of time and money into getting a private license. Clipper also offer free ground school and seminar for members. I got all my "ground school" training while flying an airplane at Mach 1, and that's why I didn't learn much after recording 30 hours of flight time. Also, Mach 1 just asked me to fly to Santa Barbara, Victorville or far away to practice simple manures. For the same amount of flight time, I get to practice a lot more at Clipper, since we spent most time learning to fly, not flying far to learn. The facility at Clipper is spacious and modern, and that makes flying more enjoyable. Since Clipper has REAL ground school, so I actually learned a lot more about the theory and technique. I get to ask questions and take note when I am not flying an airplane. Clipper is a professional flight school should be, too bad that I went to Cirrus training center instead and wasted a lot of time and money. read more

His instructor, Parsa, did an excellent job preparing him for the flight and was supportive, encouraging, and inspired confidence. I got to go along for the flight which was AMAZING.
