There is a bar area, and a room off to the side with leather chairs and sofas and a TV. At the other end of the pub there is an extensive dining area and the pub does seem heavily geared towards dining. We had just popped in for a beer and there was Black Sheep and Old Speckled Hen on both of which were very pleasant. The staff were welcoming and friendly and we spent a relaxing and very enjoyable hour there.

The salad was crisp and fresh, served up with a deliciously sweet vinaigrette that was perfect for dipping a wee bit of the roll in. The spirit measures were 35ml and the guest ales on offer covered breweries such as Innis & Gunn and The Inveralmond Brewery (who do beers such as Lia Fail and Ossian) which justified the bar being about 60-70p more expensive than the others we visited.

My only comment, which I say about everywhere, is that I would like the option of a pot of tea or cafetiere/refill coffee. They're taking reservations now for Christmas and definitely have space to accommodate larger group bookings.

They even have picnic tables looking out over the sea with parasols to save you from seagulls diving bombing your chips. You can always spot a tourist by the nonchalant way they assume they can eat their chips walking along the sea wall, locals know this is the fastest way to loose your chips and risk being pooed on! Anyone who has been there will tell you that a present from a seagull is not lucky, they are massive birds with a fish based diet. Just sit under the umbrellas please! G and I had abandoned the girls with my mum and were working on the rule that calories consumed more than 50 miles from your home address really don't count so both ordered fish suppers to go. We sat at the picnic tables laughing at the tourists fending off seagull attacks and tucked into the best fish and chips ever. The chips are perfect mainly chunky, light and fluffy but with just enough wee crispy ones mixed through to keep everyone happy. But the reason you come to a fishing town to eat fish and chips isn't the chips! The fish here is spectacular. Fresh, meaty, flaky perfection encased in the most spectacularly crisp gold batter. I'm salivating just typing this. They make their own ice-cream and I have only ever heard really good things about it, am pretty sure it wins awards. But I just come for fish and chips. The hotel only has two rooms, a small bar, and two separate dining areas, with a beer garden outside. On our four day stay in one of the rented nearby cottages we where literally two minutes walk to the bar from the house, with three of the days we ended up here on most days at lunch time till close. Food is served at lunch times and the evenings and also we ate here three days out of four, and the food was pretty good serving the likes of Fish & chips, macaroni cheese and burgers to name a few. The bar area is small, and choice was limited, but I think this was due to the location, and locals didn't seem to go out drinking. Overall we had a great time here, and would recommend The Inn at Kingsbarns to anyone that was passing through or staying nearby.
