Absolutely nothing and that's the experience I got when booking with Sea Sydney Cruises. I pre arranged my trip as there is limited room on this 52 foot motor cruiser and you want to make sure you have a spot. The boat picks up at the Commisioners steps, down on the Quay, and as soon as all 10 people arrive for the trip, the boat is off and headed around the harbor, pointing out all the sights along the way. This is the perfect way to see the city of Sydney! Your ticket price includes beverages ( beer, wine or soft drinks), lunch ( on the day I was there is was a 3 course experience with a shrimp appetizer, salmon and steak with salad as the main course and cheese and fruit for dessert). They serve lunch while anchored in one of the bay's and you can swim or kayak while there as well so be sure to bring your swimsuit. The boat has a sun bathing area in the front, a shady area up top, and cushioned seating in the back to enjoy the weather and the views. There is also a bathroom on board so no need to worry about that! The staff is terrific. Terry was our guide and host and he was knowledgeable, personable and at times, I felt like I was out on his personal boat, so how cool is that? My trip lasted about 4 hours and as we pulled back into the dock, I was sad to see it end, This, truly, was one of the highlights of my visit to Sydney!

We arrived in Sydney yesterday afternoon for the NYE celebrations and no sooner walked out of our…read morehotel (Pier 1, Marriott Bonvoy) and saw a beautiful old sailing or tall ship. We wandered down and found they actually did 2 hour dinner cruises and had one leaving in 10 minutes. Perfect. We boarded the Southern Swan and sat back to enjoy the sights and sounds of Sydney harbor on this fabulous 1922 timber barquentine. The crew was lovely, very helpful and full of information about the harbor and the sites we were passing (Governors House, sharks island, Sydney Opera House etc) The food was very good, better than most dinner cruises on much newer ships. Some sausage or spinach and feta triangles as appetizers were passed around first. Three different salads, two casseroles, one a mild chicken curry and another lentil and veggie one for the vegetarians - all gluten free served buffet style. Brownies for dessert. Drinks were available for an additional cost at the bar or as part of a package. The best bit, should you choose, you can even help raise sails (hubby did that) or even climb the masts. A great way to spend the evening. The AGH director herself,r was ALWAYS available to assist and guide even when I was in China. She was only a mobile phone call away. It was like speaking to a loving family member, rather than a travel agent. She is so charming, warm and helpful. I could even reach her LATE AT NIGHT (when other travel agents are sound asleep). And because the AGH director has travelled extensively, she always offered me REAL advice about real situations in different countries. I will use AGH again for my next trip (to Europe). Sure it is possible to save ten dollars (the price of three cups of coffee) by booking your trip online, instead of through a physical travel agent. But we live in a world full of uncertainties and disasters. if you book online, who would you then turn to in the event of a sudden unexpected, unplanned disaster? A computerised Call Attendant telling you that you're the 21st caller in the queue? A recorded voicemail message?
