I seen the reviews and still decided to give it a shot since I had a simple job of getting some pistons pressed in. I dropped them off Monday, Andy told me he'd call me the next day. He never called. I went in on Thursday (3 days later) and he laughed it off saying he hasn't gotten to it and to come back tomorrow. I came back two days later and he didn't even acknowledge me. It is always difficult to trust an automotive shop, especially being fairly new to the area, but so far Andy has been honest and reasonable with my family. He stands by his work and holds true to his warranties. He has a decent turn around time and communicates well. He has never tried to upsell me or try to convince my car needs unnecessary repairs. Amazing the stories people make up. I have been a customer of Clovis Machine for over 20 years and not one complaint except sometimes a little slow due the amount of work they take in. Their rates are probably the lowest in town. This is a family run business and they treat their customers like family too. Never felt that any work done was not totally necessary. Does Andy laugh? Sure, he's a happy guy and so are his customers. Never seen anyone there who was not totally satisfied. I've never written a review before but after reading some of these lies I had to offer my thoughts. One last thought... busy repair shops are busy for a reason and Clovis Machine is a very busy shop. After reading the reviews I was super nervous about bringing my truck here. However he was recommend by my regular mechanic. I feel like Andy could have taken advantage of me but he didn't. I felt the work he did was reasonably priced and the I am happy with the work he did. read more

My daughter called me and said she needed to borrow some money to repair her AC unit. She was told the repair would be $1500 to $2200.00 dollars depending on what all they found. I told her to take it to Andy and see what he says it might cost. Andy called and said the problem was the bolt that holds the AC pump on worked it's way out. They reinstalled the pump and charged the system. Total cost was $130.00 dollars!!! read more

Horrible shop. I asked them check out my engine and if it looked like a big job (over $1000), to not do any work on it and I'd just take it home. They went ahead and worked on it and now it is completely undriveable. Avoid this shop at all costs. read more

I took my Daughters car to CLOVIS MACHINE SHOP to have the clutch replaced, i had them do work for me many years ago and they had done a good job, this time, we payed in good faith, the car was practically undrivable, so we take the car right back, and all ANDY can do is laugh and say i will not drive it there is nothing i can do and just kept laughing, I am appalled at the treatment my daughter and i received there BEWARE CLOVIS MACHINE SHOP, TOTAL THEIVES AND ANDY IS A LIAR!!!!!! read more

I filed a dispute with my bank against them, and my bank refunded me my entire amount! With lots of paperwork and proof of his actions, ripping me off, justice was served. I am so happy, they didn't get one dime of my money! Please no one ever come here and waste your time and money. I only hope the owner had some words for Andy, he shouldn't have someone like him employed there. I am really upset with what has occured with my vehicle at this buisiness!For over a month I have been waiting for my vehicle to be repaired! Yes I said over a month! I have been told it is almost finished then it just needs a few more small parts then the wrong part was delivered.Even the motor and tranny are in we are just putting a couple of parts in still and it is very busy this time of year...etc... I went to look at my vehicle and no motor and tranny ...in fact it was still on the ground and not complete!And the vehicle was in the air with no one working on it! I paid for this job ahead of time...in hopes of showing good faith that I believe in their work and how much I wanted my vehicle repaired,When other vehicles come in and get worked on AFTER I have continued to wait I dont think that is right.Dont take on more work when you are NOT finished with mine and then tell me you are just too busy!I told them I feel like I am being put on the back burner meant to wait! Why? Is it because I am nice and not complaining? I have called twice in the time they have had my vehicle, So I know I am not bothering them as I have been extremley patient!Everyone keeps telling me to take them to the BBB and get another garage to do the work!I am so sad! read more

Would reccomend going to any other car shop honestly. They will just try to rip you off. A long time customer of theirs told me they dont even do their own transmission there they take it to another shop to do it. Thats why they charge so much. It took them 3 days for my car at the shop to just get a estimate. Called multiple times said they would call me back just for an estimate . No call back till the 3rd day. They only said it was going to take one day. They also failed to mention that they werent even going to be able to work on my car right then because they were too "swamped". Now wouldnt the right thing to do be to tell the customer how long it would take so you could decide if you want to keep it there or not? Or so you can find a different place because people rely on their car to take them places... Did not give an update at all you have to bug them. Seems like they are greedy and inconsiderate. They wont tell you the right time it will take and will take so many peoples cars in and have the cars sit there just so they can get that money. They dont care about the customers time.
