There is a cafe area which sells food such as fish and chips, burgers or jacket potatoes which are great value for money. There is a slot machine area too if you don't want to play bingo or fancy your luck after the games have finished. The staff are really helpful especially if you are not sure what books to buy if you are new to the Bingo game. I joined a few years ago and it was £1 to join then and you recieve a membership card in the post. The prices are great and there are loads of bingo games, with prices from around £10 to hundreds of thousands. It makes a great change to the usual night out and is full of people of all ages, male and female, a real mix, so never think that Bingo is for old people because it's not. You will be pleasantly surprised at how much fun a night out here can be even if you don't win!

We had an excellent evening, especially as deepest winter is not exactly high season for dog races. Mind you, they soldier on and the dogs probably run faster than ever to keep warm. The betting was fun as well and as long as you stick to the minimum amounts of just £1 for a simple bet you can't lose a lot of money either. Staff are very friendly and patiently explain the rules to complete novices like me. The dogs really are the main attraction, you wouldn't come here on the strength of the food. There's probably a reason the regulars prefer standing out in the cold. Nuff said.

They have loads of specialist weekend and one day car events on all throughout the year as well as Run what ya brung car racing where you can race your car down the quarter mile track as well as loads of racing events. There are loads of seats to watch the racing as well as a huge grass bank and an area behind the start line - but don't stand there when the jet cars go up the track!! There are usually lots of stalls to buy things from as well as plenty of burger vans, pizza stands, jacket potato vans and other food products to tuck into. The campsite is huge and split over two fields. For the really popular events like Bug Jam it is advisable to get there as early as you can on day one as the fields get packed out with tents, camper vans and cars. The atmosphere is great and the facilities such as toilets and shower blocks have dramatically improved over the past few years. The portaloos are still not something I would venture into though. I would rather queue for the toilet blocks! You do have to pay £1 for a shower which I guess is OK considering the amount of people that these events attract. The water consumtion must be huge, although the prices of the weekend events is now really high and I know it has put a lot of people off going as it is just too expensive, especially if it rains as you can't do a lot apart from sit in your tent listening to the rain.

Free entry (except on Boxing Day & Easter Sunday), good facilities, lots of space, great views The food is excellent quality, but is a litle pricey. & the queues are usually very long We use Towcester racecourse 3-4 times per year, taking our 10 year old son who always enjoys the excitement of it all Evening racing is especially good toward the end of the season (May/June) when we take a picnic which we always enjoy with many others in the extensive car park (field) This is a national hunt racecourse, so there's no racing in the summer months Massive investment has gone into the grandstand in recent years, & although I haven't yet made use of this impressive new facility, I understand the quality of what is available is 100%. Try to approach the racecourse from Brixworth/Stoke Bruene, as the A5 gets very congested NB I never win!!!!!!
