The beautiful architecture and decor make it an elegant and romantic spot for both weddings and larger events. Located on top of Santa Lucia hill, there is little space for car parking, but there are the possibility of renting buses. This space is very large and can fit about 200 people, so keep that in mind when organizing your event (because when a space is too large and there are not enough attendees to fill it out, the elegance of the hall can be lost). This is also THE place to celebrate New Years Eve each year in Santiago. Although somewhat expensive, there is an open bar before 12am and tons of dancing (Castillo Hidalgo has a great dance floor). It is also broken up into a VIP section and 3 other dance areas (the VIP spot is where it is at as there is not as long of a line to get drinks and the dance floor is less crowded up there). Just remember to pick up your tickets in advance before the cheaper admission is sold out. My favorite spot in Castillo Hidalgo is the large patio - a perfect place to hang out and take a breather during an event in the summer. Overall, a great space with elegance and style.

But in this case, I genuinely hope my review helps anyone in doubt about staying here. Because my stay at The Ritz-Carlton Santiago was nothing short of phenomenal. The rooms were fantastic: comfortable, elegant, and meticulously maintained. Their pool and hot tub were also highlights, beautiful, relaxing spaces that elevated the whole experience. What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the service, which was incredible from beginning to end. The breakfast spread was wide, varied, and delicious. Something for everyone. One of the standout items was a Chilean dessert I absolutely loved. When I asked Daniel Pinto, the Maitre d' what it was and where I could buy it outside the hotel, he went above and beyond, bringing me a boxed portion to take with me. Even more impressive, Daniel wasn't working the next morning, yet he still arranged for the head chef to bake an entire pastry of this dessert and deliver it to our table. And a special shoutout to Consuelos, who baked it early in the morning just so it would be fresh for us. That level of thoughtfulness is truly rare. My stay at The Ritz-Carlton Santiago was extraordinary in every way, and the warmth and dedication of the staff made it unforgettable. I couldn't recommend this hotel more highly.

The hotel has a very nice selection of dining options. The area itself is very safe, very clean and reminds me of downtown areas in the United States. The area is quiet.
