What I like about the place is that the compound, small as it is, offers a diverse selection of restaurant and speakeasies for various age groups and budget range - from the small carinderia in the middle of the parking lot to the high end menu of Bugsy's and Barcino. The only trouble with this place is the lack of parking. It can get full easily specially after 6 pm.Corporate slaves (usually with cars) go to the compound to take the edge off after a long day of work. But whichever drink or food you're going for, whether just to chill or to stress eat, wine or dine, City Golf has something to offer.

When my brother was hit square in the jaw with a golf ball as we rode our bikes around the walls of the golf course, my dad suddenly had a brilliant idea: who needs to buy golf balls when you can get them for free? Thus began a 20 year tradition of picking up golf balls along the walls of the greens whenever we jog or bike outside. We have entire boxes full of golf balls from years of collecting, and it doesn't appear like our supply will ever run out. I guess this speaks volumes regarding the shoddy skill of Wack Wack's players, but they've given residents surrounding the field a fun hobby collecting hailstones. The funny thing is, no one in my family even plays golf.

It's located a bit farther, in the hills of Antipolo, but I think that contributes to a more naturally beautiful landscape for the golf greens. Valley Golf's much more dedicated to golf actually, and despite having that more laidback "personality," it still has regular patrons from oldtimer members and their guests to newbies. It consistently gets full on weekends! I've never tried golfing myself and have always just gone straight to the club's swimming pool, haha. I like that pool because there are hardly any people and you can just do laps or float along to your heart's content. Once, my friends and I even set up a blanket poolside for tanning. Haha! It's that private. The maintenance staff generally leave you alone once you show up there, but a lifeguard immediately pops up. The pool's big and kidney-shaped, and goes pretty deep at the farther end so be careful. There's a kiddie pool over on one side though for children. Shower & changing rooms are right there too, separate from the golf showers. The amenities at Valley Golf are pretty dated but they've steadily been improving through the years. The men's and women's locker rooms have been refurbished, and so have the gym and lobby/reception area. The restaurant's also been renovated and a new caterer currently services it. Good stuff! You can even have them serve the food poolside. There's also a gym somewhere, a golf shop, lounges, and function halls where you can hold events. Valley Golf's always a great lazy weekend hangout.

Although only 9 holes, this course is quite challenging with narrow fairways and water at almost every hole. The so-called water hazards are more like lakes! Sadly, I lost three balls in the first three holes and didn't know if I'd have enough to finish the round. Thankfully, I only lost one more during the remaining holes. There isn't much sand, but the greens are small and slanted so getting on can be a challenge. The beauty of a course like this is you can finish in 1 to 1 1/2 hours and still feel like you were challenged. If you want to keep up with your golf, but don't have much time, this is the place to play. The caddies are decent depending on how experienced yours is. They've got you covered with bag handling and ball fetching, but the rest is up to you. Happy golfing!

The course is flat but it has several water hazards on the fairways and bunker around the greens If you're a long hitter, you can reach some of the par 4s in one. They have some holes where you have to lay up to reach the greens. Unfortunately, we played when the greens were just aerated. So it's hard to putt to the holes. In general, this course is good for both beginners and novice golfers. The greens are challenging to putt as they require you to read the breaks to the hole. After a round, of course, you can enjoy a nice meal at their clubhouse. If you live in the city and don't want to travel far, Veterans GC is a nice public GC and the rates are reasonable.
