The burger meat was dry and tasteless and lacked texture. The fries were ok. Friends who live in Kimball took us to this restaurant for dinner. There were 9 of us and they put us at a long table . The staff were wonderful and friendly. They were right there when we needed something or had a question. We had a variety of foods among us and no complaints. In fact everyone commented on how good it was. The owner of the Club came out and did a very short video recognizing that we were all here for a reunion of sorts...We were all stationed in Hawaii in the 70's during the war and were reuniting after a very long time. read more

Probably one of my worst dining experiences. From sitting to served took almost an hour. Only one person running the whole front of the restaurant and one guy cooking the food. Had no expectations for time set, nothing. Was ignored walking into the place and wandered for a few minutes before being told I can go find my own seat. By the time the food arrived it was over cooked, under flavored and unbelievably expensive for the quality. I ordered a ribeye cooked medium and it ended up well done and very little seasoning. My wife asked if the chicken "drummies" were part of the wings or the legs. We were told legs and we got wings. I was offered to have a replacement meal sent but after the ridiculous wait time and my kid losing his mind, I declined so I could get out fast. Was still charged full price. Paid over $70 for an awful ribeye, 5 small chicken wings, cheese sticks, and water. Come on. The place was also dirty, dark and quiet like a library with 20 people inside. This is why Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares will never run out of episodes. One positive, the lady running the front was at least nice and respectful. Road trip stop. Desperately trying to find a decent place to eat for dinner, I spotted this one on yelp. Located in a small town. It was the only spot with numerous cars parked in front. Walked in and felt like I went back in time. It can be described as a bar/restaurant/hall all in one. Some slot machines and a pool table and kitchy items located on the walls. Told their steak was good. Ordered the 8oz surf and turf for $19 and the ultimate burger, $12. So, my suggestion, order the burgers. Filling, flavorful and juicy. Burgers come with fries, tots, or sidewinder(described as thick steak potatoe). Steak was a little too undercooked, some tough pieces and chewy. Not a winner. The steak meal comes with a salad, baked potatoe, and bread. The fried shrimp was pretty good. Friendly service and we were greeted when we entered and left. A great alternative to eating gas station food! My bf and I decided to stop here on a road trip because we didn't want tornadoes. The burgers had good flavor while being a bit overdone. Oh man! We were traveling from Mt Rushmore home to Illinois and we were planning to stop in Chamberlain for dinner suggested by a friend. We are so glad that restaurant happened to be closed on Sunday!! I checked online for restaurants along the 90 with good reviews and Club Vega caught my eye due to the outstanding reviews. I happen to travel a lot and eat out a lot during my travels. This place was not at all impressive on the outside but was friendly from the moment we walked in from the storm outside!!! We both ordered steaks and they came quickly, PERFECTLY seasoned and cooked!! We didn't want the meal to end!! Every bite from the salad to the baked potato and Vega fries with firecracker sauce and even the fresh breadstick were absolutely delicious!!! At first we thought we were stopping in at a bar, but this little place definitely included a family atmosphere. We enjoyed this little hole in the wall very much! The steaks were very good and tender. They did not have enough seasoning for our taste but it was a great steak and it was cooked to perfection. We gave 4 stars instead of 5 ONLY because it didn't have enough seasoning. We used a lot of salt. The side winder fries were excellent and worth the stop on their own. The salad bar was extremely basic (only lettuce, croutons, and dressing). There were some pastas there but no extras for the actual salad. The service was great! Walked into the place and was immediately greeted by who I believe was the owner. He took our order and my boyfriend and I both ordered the 12oz Prime Rib ( it came with salad bread stick and potato) the steak came out and was much larger than 12oz. We started to eat it and it was so tender it pulled apart with our fork. I said well if they gave us the wrong size I am more than willing to pay extra that is how delicious it was. The bill came and we were charged for the 12 oz as ordered. Good thing I live a few states away or I would be eating Prime Rib every Saturday here at Vega. read more

A place that takes pride in serving good food. We're tourists, just passing through on our way to Mount Rushmore. We thought we had to make do with McDonalds or some local gas station's sandwiches. But then I read about this place and the reviews were promising. The food was even better than expected! During the last week, I had steaks in some of the (supposedly) great steakhouses in Omaha. When you find yourself in Kimball South Dakota swing by Club Vega for a nice meal and a cold beer. Friendly folks, clean tables and a surprising menu. Plenty of bang for your buck. The starter salads were crisp and tasty. The walleye plate features a nicely cooked piece of fresh fish with choice of potato (the Vega Fries were fried cubes of baked potato). The double cheese burger was huge...served open faced. The beef tips were another nice dish as was the NY strip steak with bleu cheese crumbles. I can't fault the food or the staff. If you allow me to pick a little it is a pet peace of mine that bars don't keep beer or glasses cold enough. At Vega you start out with maidenly cold beer in a chilled glass. The second beer is a fill up of the now warm beer glass. Given the amount spent on the place the beer chiller needs to be looked at and for Pete sake freeze the glasses and give a new one with each drink. Your hands should hurt they are so cold.
