I expected it to be spicier based on the sandwich name and description of the ingredients: secret spice blend and a spicy ranch dressing. It did have a little bit of a kick though. The Budd Dairy Food Hall seems like a great location for this type of food. I appreciated the food ordering process. The name itself is what drew me in, but the fries and sauce are what's really saving this review. Cluck Norris is a chicken spot in Budd Dairy. They serve tenders, chicken sandwiches, and fries. The good: I was a big fan of the sauce, the most spicy one actually had a really nice flavor instead of just tasting hot like most hot wings sauces do. The breading on the chicken was also top notch, super light and airy, not overly greasy (It reminded me of tempura). The fries were also delicious, not too salty and a great portion. My beef with cluck norris was the chicken itself. The chicken was really soft when biting into it, I didn't love the mouth feel at all, it was almost like melting in my mouth soft. Also, apart from the sauce there was absolutely no flavor in that meat or batter. No salt, no pepper, nothing. I know they're new and it seemed a lot of the staff working there is new to the cooking scene so maybe they just need some time to improve the product. I'd like to give them another try, maybe next time I'll go with a chicken sandwich because those had boys looked amazing coming out. read more

It's very convenient! The chicken was pretty dang good! I loved the crisp, outer coating. After trying tenders from numerous restaurants, sometimes the chicken doesn't stand out. But this chicken had its own flavor and I'm a fan! You'll need some napkins for sure, as it is a bit greasy. I can't say I would get the barbecue sauce again though. It tasted a little bland. We stopped by Budd Dairy on a busy and rainy Saturday evening. This was our first time actually getting food here. Overall, it was kind of disappointing. We decided to sample from a few places and I'm sorry to admit it, but this place was our least favorite of the three locations was tried. We got a pork sandwich and the angry chicken (I think that's the name) and both were super dry. Specifically, the chicken was very stringy and there wasn't enough by means of condiments to help it out. The pork was about the same, a bit more palatable, but kind of lackluster. We asked for a side of mayo and was told it would be .75. That's not a big deal for a homemade ranch or sauce, but that seems kind of wild for mayo- especially for a sandwich that was crying desperately for any type of extra sauce. Budd Dairy has been a hot spot for my friends and I this summer. We came here with one of my friend's parents who were visiting from out of town! I have to admit, I wasn't especially excited about trying Cluck Norris but my husband and I were determined to try something from every restaurant at Budd Dairy Food Hall so we got an order of Chicken Fingers. I didn't think they would be anything special- I have eaten so many chicken fingers before- how special can they be? I was wrong! From the first bite these were absolutely delicious. The batter/breading is the perfect thickness with an amazing crunch. They were moist without being super greasy. I usually dip my chicken in ketchup or some other sauce to offset the dryness but these were great without anything. We got the cluck original sauce (like a spicy garlic sauce) and the BBQ (a little more tangy than sweet which was nice). My third time at Budd Hall I chose Cluck Norris. So far I've enjoyed all of my visits. I was hesitant at first to go to Cluck Norris before doing some research on the name. Were they associated with the Trump Supporter, Insurrectionist Chuck Norris? Apparently not. Even when I asked today the (younger) girl didn't even know who that was. She said no one's ever asked that. That surprises me. It also surprises me they haven't yet been sued. Regardless. To the food! I got the Angry Bird sandwich as I'm a big spice fan. I want HOT. I also got the fries as a side for 5 bucks. The order of fries comes in a bag and was a huge order. They were definitely good but the way they are packaged in the bag the ones a little in are not as crisp. The sandwich was good but not really spicy to me. I know spicy is relative but when I see Angry Bird I expect HOT AS F***. No biggie. I go to see if they have any hot sauce. The person who had served me said the hottest would be their habanero. I said sure, that sounds find. THEN. The guy, supposedly the manager, abruptly and rather rudely blurts out "that's 50 cents" and then turns back around. Now this is NOTHING to do with the 50 cents. But everything to do with his delivery to someone who clearly has already been a customer. A customer who didn't know sauces were available at the start. A customer who will now have to put 50 cents on his credit card (likely costing the business more than they are getting for the sauce) and also costing them a customer. Instead he should have graciously just given the sauce. Now I won't be back because they clearly value 50 cents over a customer. We ordered 10 tenders with cluck original sauce and fries. It was a lot of food! The fries and the sauce were the best parts. You get a ton of seasoned crunchy fries. The cluck original sauce was tasty as well, tasted like a slightly more butter forward version of buffalo sauce. The chicken, although crunchy with a batter breading and tender, was flavorless on its own and had so much oil in it. As soon as I bit in, grease squirted with every bite.
