This congregation used to be kind. Now it's a bunch of boomers, on power trips. No accountability. I had a congregant say "Should I know you?" Who addresses anyone that way ever??? I was also deleted a bunch of times off the member list for no reason. Save your time and go to the shuls in the Fox Valley, or online. Services are sporadic, no consistency. They are ableist. Unless you have a large sum of money to donate, they really don't care about you. Back in the early 00s this place felt home like, now it's just a place that reminds me of traumas. We were in the Green Bay Area over Yom Kippur. We had emailed the Rabbi ahead. The Rabbi and Temple president were very responsive and welcomed us to participate in services. The congregation was very welcoming and warm. The services were inclusive and accessible. The Rabbi was engaging and had positive energy. It was a heartfelt experience. read more

A small, but well connected community whose members are largely of an older generation. Made up of about 80 or so families, Congregation Cnesses Israel offers Friday night and Saturday Morning Shabbat services, as well as free High Holiday services, and offers a variety of classes covering every aspect of Jewish life.While the Congregation is officially Conservative, the community is itself a patchwork of various beliefs and practices. The Rabbi and Cantor are excellent both highly knowledgeable and are always there to meet any need or answer any questions. Overall,Congregation Cnesses Israel is a great place both to worship and learn. the community is tightly knit and looks after its members like family. While the congregation may be small for some, the family like atmosphere and closeness of community make this congregation a great place to worship and learn.
