To start with its so conveniently located for me that I can walk, drive, jog, roll or skip there in minutes and always be pretty certain that they'll have what I need. Yes it's a supermarket but how many times have you been food shopping and they've not had the right brand of soup or the right type of cheese? Often right? Well I've literally never had that experience here and I've been coming here over 15 years! Final point: value. Note I say value not price, because there is a difference! The coop isn't the cheapest option you have for your shopping, yet it comes with a certain quality, a quality that most products, I'm prepared to pay a couple of pence more for! It has a limited range of magazines and never seems to have many newspapers left in the afternoons but otherwise never seems to be low on stock. There are always staff about restocking and tidying the shelves, this means the shop floor is always clean and if a customer cant find something there is an assistant around to help out. There are rarely more than two assistants on tills so when its busy there can be a short wait to be served but never more than a couple of minutes. The car park is small and cramped which makes parking awkward no matter how busy it is and the location of a pedestrian crossing on the road next to it can make getting out of the carpark a lengthy process.

There's the usual wide range…read moreof food on offer, and it's fairly competitively priced; and then there are all the usual Tesco extras -- clothes, electrical goods, books, DVDs etc etc. The staff are friendly (I met some of them in the Staff Only area a while back and they were all very pleasant). The only drawback is that the place is not very car-friendly: some parts of the car park are a long way from the front door, and driving out of the place can take an age at peak times (the traffic lights seem to have it in for Tesco customers). But all in all, a good place to shop if you don't mind adding to Tesco's multi-billion profits.

Due to being in a retail park, there's plenty of free parking right outside the store, which is a benefit compared to their larger store in Manchester city centre, which only has paid parking. The store was tidy and easy to follow, and had a good selection of products, while the store may not have had as extensive a selection (and eco-credentials) as the Manchester Market Street store nearby, it makes a good alternative in the Cheetham Hill area. It has ample parking including spaces allocated for both disabled and people with children. They have plenty of trolleys outside where you put £1 coin in to unlock and thankfully they're somewhat under cover so if you have a young child with you there is no need to fumble around for tissues to dry the seat! The store is relatively new and it shows in both it's design and appearance as it's large, open, well lit, neat and somewhat inviting. The aisles are nice and broad so no jostling and struggling to get past other shoppers and it's easy to navigate around the store. They have a broad range of stock such as bread, cakes, biscuits, domestic cleaning items, toiletries, fruit and vegetables, chilled goods, frozen goods, tinned goods, pet stuff and drinks as well as their often random yet very good value offers on anything from tv's to toys. However, although I can do my weekly shop at Netto, I find it difficult to cover all 'bases' of what I need at Aldi, however it is a good place to start and the prices are not to be sniffed at. It's worth periodically looking on their website at their special offers as they have some complete bargains on offer. Remember when shopping here that you will have to pay for any carrier bags you require so we always take a stash of reusable shopping bags with us which saves money and gives you eco brownie points. One of my favourate items from here is their night and their day facial creams for woman, they have had excellent reviews in the media and are so cheap it would be silly not to at least try them, I use them and am very satisfied with them. My only real gripe with this store is the staff. they seem terminally understaffed. It's very rare to ever see a member of staff on the shop floor to approach and it's rare that they have more then two tills staffed, usually it's just one and often it's the assistant manager operating it! We did recently have one bad experience here. We went to buy fireworks as they are extremely well priced and good quality. the assistant manager took the money for them and then continued serving. It took ten minutes and a disgruntled sound from our camp to actually send him (tutting would you believe it, the cheek of it!) to GET the item we'd paid for. In my opinion this is atrocious customer service (or lack of!) and especially from an assistant manager. However, this is the only 'true' negative experience we've had and it will not prevent us from shopping there in the future.
