During my time in London, with a large number of stores around the city, I began a fan and regular of the Co-op brand and one of those stores I liked was this one, in the central London Strand location, which was also close to Charring Cross Railway Station as well as being really close to Leicester Square and Covent Garden. The location is good and there isn't a great deal of rival similar style convenience style stores within very close distance of this location too.
I called in here to grab some drinks for my train back home to Manchester later that day, wanting to avoid paying inflated prices at the station and I picked up some drinks at really good value, they do the 2 for £2 offer here on drinks including Lipton Iced Tea, compare to the station where it would cost 50-100% more, which in my opinion (the Co-op) is really good, competitive pricing for the UK as a whole, let alone London.
The staff seemed friendly enough and managed to cope okay with coping with large crowds in encouraging and helping customers to use the self-service machines.
A slightly confusing layout, going through to the store there is a mildly steep ramp which does seem to be unkept outside with litter etc, which isn't all the stores fault but it must share some responsibility in keeping directly outside of the store as clean as possible, and it also is strange the to go food range isn't directly as you enter the store, so in a sense the store layout is a little strange.
It's worth noting if you're a student you can get 10% off here with TOTUM including already discounted prices and offers. (For example you can combine it with the 2 drinks for £2 offer to make your final total owed go down even further to £1.80)
Good prices, decent service and good location with an average selection in terms of everyday essentials. 3* read more
