One of two co-op stores in the town, the other being a little larger with more stock. This one however has all the basic amenities you might require in another part of town. Close to the public beach & car park. read more

Its a rather smaller store than the one in Blyth but still has a good range of food the staff here…read moreare helpful and cheery They often do the main meals from the fresh meal ranges at £1 as I dont think they can sell them quickly enough also if you go before closing lots of the salads on offer They do tend to stock a good range of there own make stuff but due the chrismtmas range being out some of the stuff they usually have has gone They have self serve tills as well as trolley and baskets and there is usually a member of staff at the self serve to help out If you see any of the advertised offers in the papers for Asda this Asda has usually sold out before you restock. I think there just not quick enough to restock the shelves

Ample free parking and…read morea petrol station, this Sainsburys is of a very large size and includes all your traditional counters such as meat, fish, salad, bakery pharmacy, cashpoint machines and a cafe. This branch is also very good for reduced produce at the end of the day! I am a big fan of their own brand food and also find they have a very good range of vegetarian produce. Their organic food range is also the best I have found among the supermarkets, although it can be mroe expensive than others.

As it is near to the High School it is often frequented by kids at lunch times and half past three when the shcools are out. There is no nearby parking spaces but you can park around the corner (about ten minutes walk away) or in a nearby residential street. There is one entrance with a flat surface which is easy to negotiate with wheelchairs and prams. The store is quite small and has a dark, decorated glass window. There are pictures of food items on the facade of the building which looks quite inviting. Inside there are only a few narrow aisles. The store sells a small selection of foods including dairy products, cereal, sweets and snacks as well as household products and newspapers and magazines. The prices are average in comparison to local stores. It is basically a handy convenience store rather than a full supermarket sized shop though and has a selection of brands rather than every brand available. The staff here are kind and helpful. There is often a queue but the staff serve people quickly.

The george here is good and often has sales to make the clothes even cheaper that usual, they have a full range of their electrical stuff as well as dvds, books and cds. I woudlnt be getting the fresh fruit and veg from here as they tend not to have a long shelf life The meal deals here are good as they have a large range of chinese and vegetarian food. They do have a space in the chiller where the sale items where the date is almost up and they usually have some really good offers here
