It's a bit run-down on the outside, but the inside is well-stocked, if a little compact. There's a pretty cool deli counter, and a seemingly kosher section that sells things like gherkins and pickled herrings and the like. Good selection of wine, and the bread is good and fresh too. Also the staff are friendly and helpful. The only thing that's frustrating is that there used to be a cashpoint outside and now it's all boarded up. Large car park at the side.

There's a good selection of food and drink across the board for a small town store, and although the majority of Louth people do their "main" shopping in Grimsby/Cleethorpes, the store attracts a good number of people, often buying "convenience" items. Although shopping in Grimsby/Cleethorpes is generally cheaper, the only comparable competition in Louth is more expensive overall. The quality of staff in the store is extremely inconsistent, varying from dreadful to excellent. One criticism of Morrisons on a national basis is that their "offers" tend to be on junk food a disproportionate amount of the time, and this is true here too! The opening hours are good, and could become more extensive in the future.

The quality is outstanding; mainly home made from top quality ingredients with a high level of organic produce used. The variety of items for sale is enough to suit all tastes and although the prices are higher than your typical supermarket the quality is so much higher that the prices are actually lower than many other competitors that sell similar items. Last word goes to the staff, fantastic and friendly - what you would expect from an independent store in one of the most beautiful towns in the country.

Even though it hasn't been open long, Melanies has fast established itself as the favourite eatery for the Louth branch of the firm I work for, and with good reason. This inspired me to look on Melanie's website. The website itself is impressive in design, content and concise facts which include the various menus. I therefore decided to telephone Melanie's and left a brief message on their answerphone. Within a couple of minutes Aileen, the owner, returned my call and duly reserved a table for my party of three. We were greeted most politely and professionally by a member of staff and then Aileen introduced herself to us. Top marks so far! We chose our meals from an excellent menu and were shown to our table. We each had a three course meal of differing dishes and were totally in agreement that everything was of an outstanding class. We regularly dine out and have for many years , we know what 'total excellence' means. We were delighted to meet Stephen, the joint owner and chef, after our meal who enthused about his passion for food and his beliefs on how it should be sourced, cooked and presented. Perhaps the triangle (either inverted or right side up) is the universal sign for "closer than the market, but not quite a substitute." They also have some scary ready foods. What am I saying? Most ready food in England must contain at least 17% scary. Or 19% questionable. The proper way to pronounce the name is "Spaaaaauuuuuuuuuuuaaaahhhh" with a bit of nasal during the last syllable so it sounds like a robot on the verge of exploding.

This is a rather large Spar shop situated right in the town centre. It does have quite a range of…read moreproducts compared to many spar shops although its prices are not different to other spar shops. There are many other local competitors whose prices are lower but you do pay for the convenience of the fact that it's smack bang in the town centre so it's easy to find / get to, is open all sorts of mad hours (very early till very late) and is open all year round (christmas day!). I've been in many times and found the staff to be very helpful and friendly.

There are usually some offers on which are on display outside the shop, such as bargain strawberries in the summer. One of the owners of Robinsons is usually available on the premises which I think adds a nice personal touch, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The only drawback to the shop is that it's quite a long way out of the town centre - although now Wilko's has moved to this end of town, there's another reason to venture down the road!

I was…read morevisiting family in Louth over Christmas and we had a slight accident with the cream so I was told to go here and get some as it had recently opened. I can't believe the difference from the previous shop. It is now a well laid out minimarket with quite a wide variety of products and at surprisingly cheap prices. Not only did I pick up the cream that I had to get but quite a few other items too. I seriously couldn't believe how cheap some of the products were and what high quality they were - beating some of the supermarket prices by a good margin. If you live nearby it's well worth a quick visit before you go to either of the two town centre supermarkets for your shopping. The staff (considering it was christmas day when I visited) were very friendly.
