Will never return. I…read moream a strong supporter of local businesses and decided to give this formerly unrated drycleaner a try this past week. While the staff seem nice and helpful, the price and end product were a major disappointment. I recently started massage school and have sheets which need weekly washing. With little free time, I hoped to find a drycleaner to launder and press the sheets. My first mistake (and I take full blame for this one) was not asking how much it would be. I figured that two twin size flat sheets wouldn't be much more than $10 or so. I handed over my sheets and was never informed of the cost. The staff person told me it would a few days - I dropped them off on a Saturday and was told I could pick them up on Wednesday after 4pm. It seemed a bit long to me but I wasn't in a big rush. I ran over to the store today to pick up the sheets to discover the price would be $31.50. Since the sheets are for school use only, I bought cheap ones ... $9 for each sheet from IKEA. The cost of laundering them was more than the cost of the sheets. I could have bought 3 brand new crisp sheets and thrown these away given the price of cleaning. Whatever. My bad for not asking up front. Their bad for charging an arm and a leg. My second mistake (did I mention that I'm loaded up on cold medicine today?) was to pay the bill without looking over my sheets. I was still in shock over the price. I walked one block home and immediately took a closer look at the sheets ... which are still wrinkled and not well-pressed. I uploaded a photo to show how wrinkled they are. For $31.50, I expect the sheets to be pristine. Not so. Not happy. Not impressed. Not returning. While I like local businesses, I am picky about them being able to offer good products/services for a reasonable price. As for Money's Drycleaning, they certainly live up to the MONEY portion of their name.

Though it was coin laundry, you can ApplePay and they will give you the necessary coins, $1 CAD for detergent, etc. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Short story: -Claimed repeatedly to no longer have the dress shirts I had left for drycleaning, with no offer of compensation, only to magically find them literally minutes after I informed them that I was a lawyer and that I had no problem starting an action against them. So, basically, they will steal your stuff. -By their own admission, they give away drycleaned clothes without tickets and/or often don't put tags on the clothes. So expect your stuff to be lost or given away. -They often aren't open when they say they are. -They don't listen to requests. -Cash only Full story: 1. Having just moved to the area, I come by at 8:00am to drop five Harry Rosen shirts off for drycleaning. I've never used this drycleaner before. Despite saying they open at 7:30, the lady only comes by to open the store at 8:10. Not a good sign. 2. I ask that my shirts be pressed and folded. She dismissively tells me that she knows what she's doing. It is Tuesday. I am told that they will be ready for pick-up on Saturday. 3. I come by on Saturday. Again, they are not open when they say they are. 4. My partner goes to pick-up my shirts for me on Tuesday. She has the day off, I do not. She calls me telling me that the lady who works there (the same one I dropped my shirts off with) is saying that she can't find the shirts despite my partner having the ticket for them. I ask to be put on the phone. 5. The lady tells me that someone else picked the shirts up. I ask how this is possible, given that we have what should be the only ticket for the shirts. She tells me that sometimes she gives clothes to people without a ticket. They just say a name, and she hands the clothes over. Wow. 6. I proceed to ask her what she intends to offer me in compensation of the clothes she's lost. She reiterates that it's not her fault - that someone picked the clothes up. I ensure that she is not suggesting that I already picked them up and am trying to cheat her. 7. I again ask what she intends to offer in compensation. I inform her that each shirt was from Harry Rosen, and had cost me between $80-$100 each. She literally laughs at me over the phone. 8. At that point, I inform her that I am a lawyer (which I am) and that she has three options: she can find the shirts, offer me fair compensation that I agree to, or have me file a claim against her in small claims court. We agree that I would come in the next day so that we could discuss the matter and that she would look for the shirts in the meantime. Literally FIVE MINUTES later, she calls and declares that she's found my shirts. Riiiiight. I'm going to guess that those shirts would've never been "found" had I not informed her of my profession and threatened to sue. The kicker? They're cash only and also, remember when I said that I asked my shirts to be folded? And not hung? They all came hung. At this point, I'm just happy to have even gotten them back Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Your clothes will NOT be safe here.

I was very disappointed with my experience at Carousel Cleaners, particularly with the lack of…read moretransparency around pricing. When I dropped off several jackets and pairs of pants, I specifically asked approximately how much the cleaning would cost. I was told they would not give me an estimate. After I had already left my clothes with them, I received an email showing that the total would be hundreds of dollars. The individual charges included approximately $30 for a blazer/jacket, $26 for a pair of slacks, and $40 to clean a short, lightweight nylon jacket -- essentially what I had paid for that jacket second-hand. My biggest issue isn't simply that Carousel is expensive. A business is entitled to set its own prices. My problem is accepting a customer's clothing while declining to provide even an approximate cost when specifically asked, and only disclosing the substantial total afterward. At that point, I felt I had very little choice and was effectively locked into a transaction without having been able to make an informed decision about the price beforehand. For a service that can run into hundreds of dollars, I think customers should be given clear pricing or at least a reasonable estimate before their garments are accepted for cleaning. The cleaning may be positioned as a premium service, but based on my experience, I would not return because of the pricing and, more importantly, the lack of upfront transparency.

This laundromat, if you do self serve, is $7 per teeny tiny washer ($9 for a slightly larger washer) and $1 per 8 minutes of drying time. Absolutely not worth it, and although they advertise "large washers" outside of the building, they have the smallest washers I've ever seen.
