Visited on a Saturday evening with friends. We had a reservation for 7 PM. The initial first impression was not great because although it wasn't abnormally busy for a Saturday for some reason, the staff was very overwhelmed and behind. We were not greeted by a host for at least 10 minutes. There was a few couples waiting when we arrived & at one point we were all looking at each other confused as to why there was no host or any sort of greeting even by workers walking by. Additionally, we had to wait For our reservation. Our server did not bring us water for a very long time, even after stopping by our table and saying she would bring water. We ended up ordering our food along with drinks right away, given the lack of structure. Our server seemed surprised and almost annoyed at this. Outside of that she was friendly. Overall the food was ok- nothing super special. I enjoyed the ambiance and low lighting vibes. It is a smaller place but still a good amount of tables. They have a parking lot attached with a lot of space but also ample street parking. I would go back to check out the patio and maybe a happy hour in the summer but 3 stars because service & timeliness was way off. Hoping it was just a bad night & not the norm for an Edina spot.

We tried Coalition for the first time as part of restaurant week and I am so glad we did! We always make it a point to eat local and we had never heard of Coalition before seeing it on the list but we will definitely be back to explore more of the menu. My husband and I ended up trying everything on the restaurant week menu which included starters of shrimp bruschetta and steamed pork buns - both were light and so flavorful! I got the salmon with potatoes and pancetta wrapped asparagus while my husband got the roasted chicken with hominy, pork sausage, queso fresco and avocado. Both entrees were so incredibly fresh and with perfectly paired accompaniments - we were seriously thrilled we lucked out with this menu. I was pretty stuffed by the time dessert came around and didn't get a chance to take a photo but I got the key lime pie and my husband got the cheesecake. I am not typically a key lime pie person but this felt more like a tart and it was absolutely amazing. Perfect amount to finish off an immaculate meal!!

Good spot for dinner I would love to try brunch here! I got the charred corn salad and added steak. My husband got the coalition burger (plain) and said it was a great burger. It was a nice set up and area. Service was pretty standard. I would definitely come back.

I met up with my aunties for last minute drinks in Edina. One of them wanted to check this restaurant out since she's never been. Cute restaurant, you see a nice bar once you walk in. We ordered a few appetizers along with our cocktails. Service was great, our waiter checked on us frequently. Free parking in the lot to the side or behind the restaurant.

Great moody atmosphere and excellent food. Service was a highlight. Thanks for making our first visit enjoyable. We'll be back!

I have been here a couple of times for drinks and have decided that they are really hit or miss. There have been a couple that have been great and a couple that were not so great making it hard to try different things on the menu. I have walked in both times and have been seated immediately. At night the restaurant does get pretty dark in the back of the restaurant so I recommend sitting in the front by the windows or by the bar. The menu had recently changed and I had a chance to try the cauliflower. It was crispy and had a sweet chili bbq sauce, this was very tasty There were only a couple of other items that I would consider ordering and wish they would bring some of the old menu items back that I didn't get a chance to try.

My girlfriend and I wanted to grab a quick brunch before running errands, so decided to come here. Parking lot available, so that's always a plus for me. Restaurant itself was very nice looking inside! Clean, modern, stylish. Greeted immediately upon entering and our waitress came right up. Overall service was good, food came out timely, and staff was friendly. Food was ok. My burrito didn't have much flavor, but it was decent enough. I asked for hot sauce and all they had was tabasco.... You have to get some cry baby Craig or sriracha! My girlfriend wasn't a fan of her dish either. Very bland tasting. Not to mention, her coffee tasted watered down and wasn't good. We didn't have any cocktails, but i like that they offer some craft options. Will have to try one sometime if we return. - Anthony

Solid spot to hit up for dinner. My hubby and I sat outside on the patio and had a great attentive server. I got the pork schnitzel and thought it had great flavors overall but the wild rice was too bland. Thankfully the bourbon pecan cream sauce coated the rice and made it edible. Would visit again, but not my first choice for the area!

    Burrata - must try!

This breakfast burrito is packed full of everything you could ever want including wagyu steak (instead of the traditional bacon or sausage, so it's not greasy at all), avocado, eggs, potatoes, and cheese. It even came with a side salad and salsa to dip it in! For $15-16 it was a large portion and easily was 2 meals. I ordered online for pickup and it was ready quickly at the counter but the restaurant also looked cute inside so I would be interested in stopping in for a meal sometime too! The place was packed, but a kind gentlemen moved over so we could have two seats at the classy bar. With service from the empathetic Patrick and the charming Alicia, we felt at home even though we had just moved to Minneapolis. Waterbury's menu has an array of interesting choices. My spouse and I split a Caesar Salad. She ordered the Crispy Tuna Tacos which are always fantastic. I devoured the Blackened Shrimp. The dish had a piquancy that added the perfect amount of kick. I loved it. With jazz on Wednesday evenings and unique menu specials, the Waterbury will grow sick of my face. It's a great restaurant.

There was an hour and 1/2 limit, but that was plenty of time for us to have a drink. I ordered the Me Espresso and my husband ordered the special of the day, which was a scotch with a special twist. We ordered the chicken that was on the menu and it was a very small piece of chicken and it was supposed to come with broccolini and there was three skinny little stalks, and there was some kind of purée underneath it. Not sure if that was potatoes or what, but the chicken had a very good flavor. It was just very small. That's my complaint on that so we ended up ordering the sweet potato fries and that was a good portion and very good. I would definitely order those again. We had a reservation but the host seemed to struggle to find it, almost even questioning the validity of it even though I showed her proof they texted confirmation. Thankfully they gave us a table right away anyways. The restaurant is attached to a theatre so it gets really busy prior to showtimes and the service becomes slow or non existent. At one point it even seemed that they forgot about us and the manger noticed so she made sure to get our food to us. The server later apologized and was very kind but I couldn't help but notice she took the time to chit chat with coworkers while we waited. When the theatre performance started it loudly traveled into the restaraunt through the walls. While it didn't bother me I can see how this may bother others. I'm actually glad we went because we learned about the theatre and would like to attend a show sometime. I just wouldn't recommend going to the restaraunt unless you are seeing a show there.

Nightingale was packed, but fortunately, once two patrons saw my face from the bar, they quickly paid their bill and left. My face often compels people to vacate crowded establishments in Minneapolis, and we often find seats. After grabbing the two seats, we ordered wine and a wonderful Amaro-based cocktail. Jules was our bartender/server, and although he was crazy busy, he found time to be gracious to us. We ordered the meatball appetizer, halibut, and the Nightingale hamburger. My halibut was sublime, cooked perfectly, and it wasn't drowned in sauce. Bravo! The meatballs were tender and delicious, but the hamburger was not memorable. It was good, not great. Despite all the accolades above, when the bill came, I was charged two dollars after requesting a cucumber slice for my Pimms Cup. Perhaps the source of this pettiness came from the kitchen, but it wasn't smart, because the $2.00 charge placed a shroud over my experience. The bill was $125, and because of the petty two-buck charge, I only left a $25 tip. I was going to leave a $30 tip. I will sadly remember those 2 bucks forever. It was a myopic move and a passive-aggressive way to handle my request. In my birthplace home of NYC, a bartender would have said, "Getting a cucumber slice is a pain in the rear, would you mind skipping it?" My response, "Sure, it's not a big deal."

The service was genuinely friendly and pleasant throughout our visit, which went a long way. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. I tried the NY Strip special, which was fine but nothing memorable - exactly what you'd expect, no more, no less. The oysters were disappointing for the price point; the quality just wasn't there. The mushroom bruschetta similarly underwhelmed - it felt like it was missing something to make it stand out. The bright spot? The drinks were solid and well-crafted. I wanted to rate this higher based on the atmosphere and service alone, but at the end of the day, the food has to deliver. With so many great options in Minneapolis, Nightingale needs to step up its culinary game to match its lovely setting. I'd consider returning for drinks, but probably not for dinner.
