Unfortunately I purchased a golf cart from this dealer called Coastal Carts in Ft. Myers, Florida. The dealer told me I wouldn't have to pay sales tax in order to earn my business. Of course I'm sure this means he would pay the sales tax and he would reduce the cost of my cart accordingly to cover the sales tax. I worked with a nice lady there and we closed the deal. Fast forward 3 months; tire blows out today. I called the dealer today and they basically said that since I didn't pay sales tax, they won't honor the warranty. I even offered to pay them their sales tax in exchange for a spring service and maintenance ($225 value). The sales tax was $318.00 so he would have done better at the end of the day anyway! I urge you to stay clear of this dealer in the Ft Myers area. There are plenty of other dealers to work with in the area, don't work with this one!!! read more
