After our nanny unexpectedly left us, we were stressed about finding childcare, but we feel so lucky that Pollitos had an available spot! Since he started in February, my son has blossomed in the care of Yeni and all the ladies there. While he was first adjusting, Yeni was constantly in touch with us, letting us know how he was doing and sending us photos, which we really appreciated. Over these past few months, our son has grown into a happy, talkative little guy, counting in both English and Spanish and saying so many words! He loves all the activities they do at Pollitos--music, singing, artwork, and outdoor play. Every day when I drop off my son, I feel like I am dropping him off with his sweet aunties who scoop him up with kisses and hellos. Wonderful daycare and wonderful staff! My daughter was enrolled at Pollitos for 2 years. She loved going there and we loved her teachers. She learned her colors, shapes, and letters. She also developed some important tools for socializing. These came in very handy when she moved into the local 3K program. Yeni (the director) was welcoming and great at communicating. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Pollitos Daycare! My husband and I moved to Brooklyn from Los Angeles about a year ago with our then seven-month-old son. It was a major adjustment to say the least...first time parents...new city, new climate, in a basement apartment...it all felt rather intense. Which is code for: I was losing my mind and needed help! I was thrilled to read the great reviews of Pollitos on Yelp, and so I reached out to Yeni to see if they might be a good fit for our needs. She responded to my email promptly, and a few days later, I went over for a tour. I felt instantly at ease in Yeni's company, and I absolutely loved the darling and colorful space...complete with plenty of toys and an outdoor area for the children to play. I also loved the fact that our son would be exposed to another language! Over the next six months, our little guy attended Pollitos three days a week, and he absolutely loved it. Every teacher there is incredibly warm and caring. The way they interact with the kids is just so endearing...it's like they're family. The way they held, hugged and engaged with our son...it actually brings tears to my eyes! We moved out of Brooklyn about a month ago, and I have yet to find a daycare like Pollitos! It's definitely one of a kind! If you're looking for a safe, kind, warm space for your child to learn and grow and play...this is it. Yeni and the wonderful teachers at Pollitos truly LOVE children. I highly recommend Pollitos day care for a loving and warm daycare environment. My son attended Pollitos from age 16 months-28 months (and only left because we relocated out of state). Pollitos is a very sweet, inclusive, family-run place. It's so nice to not have the corporate feel of some daycares. The director, Yeni, is so kind and very responsive by text. We always felt comfortable and safe having our child there. Some extra bonuses include that all lunch and snacks are provided for the children, and the cost is built into tuition (a huge relief to not have to think about each day!), and the children are exposed to both Spanish and English language. The staff was also very helpful and supportive once we decided to start potty training! We initially wanted our son to begin daycare around 12 months, but once we toured Pollitos we knew it was the right fit for him and for us, and so we were more than happy to wait until he was a little older, and they could accept him (at the time they began accepting toddlers at 15 months). read more

I don't love the fact that I have to take my daughter to daycare. But since I do, I"m extremely, extremely happy I found Yeni and Pollitos. My daughter has adored going since day one, and I've never found anybody there to be anything less that warm and caring and concerned with the well being of the children. It's a great little community of parents and a wonderful asset to the neighborhood. The space is cheerful, they can play outside, and Harriet always has a smile on her face when we pick her up. Yeni and her team have been nothing short of absolutely amazing. This was our second daycare experience, and we are only leaving because we are relocating out of state. My daughter asks to see Ms. Norma every single night and day she's not at Pollitos! She was so shy when she started, but now she talks about her friends all the time and asks to go to school on the weekends. They have a really amazing outdoor area also, which is so beneficial for kids in NYC! We are so, so sad that we'll have to say goodbye, and I cannot recommended Pollitos enough. I know when we drop my daughter off that she is truly in the most loving and supportive environment. For reference, my daughter turns two next month, and has been going full-time since she was 18 months old. She can now count up to 10 in Spanish, and requests in some Spanish phrases (she tells us "no mas" or requests "agua"). In addition, they offer a date night monthly, which is included if you're a full-time enrollee. The owner, Yeni, responds immediately by phone and email whenever contacted, and has always been great with communication. I would honestly give them 10 stars if I could. read more

My children felt safe and loved in the daycare. I was also comfortable with the staff as they are trust worthy as well as the environment. Its been nothing but wonderful having my son in Pollitos for the last year. Yeni and her staff are warm, caring and nurturing people and they lead by example- every day that I pick my boy up from Pollitos he is in THE BEST MOOD. He proudly shows me the artwork he made that day, tells me about what he did, what he ate, names all of his teachers and all of his friends, and is just so happy. At home the good habits and manners carry over- he picks up all his toys after a play session, and uses please and thank you all the time on his own without being reminded. They really love their work and care about each child. Yeni sends little photo updates periodically which is sweet. My husband and I also enjoy taking advantage of the free date nights once a month! Its been a joy and I feel so lucky to have found Ms. Yeni and her amazing Pollitos. read more

My son recently "graduated" Pollitos to enter pre-k. Luckily my daughter just started this wonderful bilingual daycare. I wasn't ready to say goodbye to the amazing women who have cared for my son for the last 2 years. Aside from learning Spanish, he has developed great socialization skills, structure, and other early childhood skills. Pollitos feels more like a preschool than a typical daycare with my son bringing home packets of lessons at the end of each month. The staff are incredibly nurturing, competent, and professional. I can only say I was very nervous as a first time parent dropping my daughter off at Daycare and she also who was not so excited about being away from home. But we had a wonderful experience. The staff works very hard, the owner, Yeni also. They are committed, friendly and safe. I guess they understood my anxiety because they would always send me texts with photos of my daughter to show me she was doing well. I had many long talks with Yeni about my daughter's day and really about all sorts of things. Good people. My second child will be going to Pollitos when he is of age. Pollitos Daycare is like an extension of our family! I cannot say enough good things about Yeni and her team of nurturing, loving and delightful caretakers. Before finding Pollitos I toured MANY other daycares, all the "fancy" preschools, and private 2's/toddler programs, but none even came close to the warm feeling I received when visiting Pollitos... and as a mother, you have to go with your gut on what feels right for your child! Also, I was not seeking out a bilingual environment, but I'm so happy that Pollitos is just that because now, not only is our son happy at the end of each day, but he also speaks much more Spanish than his father and I do and his vocabulary in general seems to be advanced due to his daycare environment. To put all this in context: I commute to Pollitos in Cobble Hill from Fort Greene (1.3 miles away) because we know it's the best place for him. He loves his "amigos," comes home with lots of artwork and and is excited to go to "school" every day. Knowing this makes me smile. My twins have been going to Pollitos for 2 months and we've been really loving it - our first time in daycare after having a nanny and Yeni, Alicia, Norma and Gabby have all been really wonderful about helping them transition, providing a warm and nurturing environment and just generally helping them settle in. Our daughter attended Pollitos for almost two years and she had a very happy time there. Yeni and her team are so warm and caring and flexible. They are constantly doing crafts and music and she came home singing Spanish songs . That's another bonus. We are not native Spanish speakers so wanted to introduce a second language at a very young age which she definitely picked up. They also have a back yard so the kids get lots of time outside which was an essential factor for us. I would not hesitate to recommend this daycare for your little one. read more

This was our first daycare experience and they have truly set the bar high. We're moving out of state and so sad to leave Pollitos. Our son started part-time when he was around 1.5 and clearly loved going. The teachers are so sweet and nurturing. I'll never forget the day when my son just walked right into the classroom and didn't even look back at us. :) He was just so happy to be there. Their space is safe and filled with tons of fun and educational toys, and their backyard is amazing. We don't have a yard at home, so we really loved that he had a safe space to play outside at Pollitos. By the way, we commuted from faraway Bay Ridge on the subway to send our son here. They are that wonderful. He loves the art, music, story time... needless to say, he was ready for bed at the end of a busy day at Pollitos! Miss Yeni was very communicative about our son and anything parents needed to know. I always felt at ease while he was there. And, of course, can't forget the language component! I know very little Spanish, but when I would try talking to my son with the little I knew, he would actually respond in Spanish.
