Of course I never expect a hotel room to look exactly like the photos online, but I do expect at least some similarities, and this is not the quality I expect from a Curio Collection hotel with Hilton. The room smelled funny when I first walked in, and it either went away or I am just used to it. A closet does not exist, it is a small rack that they have mounted the mini fridge inside of so you cannot hang your clothing without having it drape all over and behind the dusty fridge. None of the fixtures are as updated and elegant as they look online and are pretty beat up in my room. The bathroom is probably the worst part in my opinion. Again, view my photos for a closer look, but I expected a spacious walk-in shower and enough vanity countertop space to put out all of my things and get ready for a wedding which I'm here for. The sink vanity barely has enough room for my toiletry bag let alone pulling everything out of that bag. God forbid you have two people in here in need of space. The shower is about half of the size that is shown online, all of the fixtures in it are muddied with caulk, the door does not extend all the way to the bottom nor does it have a drip edge, so water blasts the door and spills out onto the floor. Looking at the corners in the room itself, the wallpaper is either peeling from erosion behind it or there are piles of dust bunnies building up. If you have allergies, this may end up being more of a problem for you than it is for me. There is a folding suitcase stand available but that is it. The "desk" shown in the photos does not exist. It is a piece of wood propped up by a small wooden hinge and cannot sustain much weight, so it is useless for anything other than a light bag or snacks. I got trapped in the stairwell. A housekeeper told me to take the stairs one floor down because ice machines are on all the odd floors. I went in and couldn't get out, I had to walk all the way to the bottom from 8 and walk through the service/warehouse area to get to the only crash bar door which let me out on the backside of the building on the street. None of the stairwell doors recognized a hotel key. The young staff at the front desk didn't know what to do or say, so they just gave me new keys (the original worked fine). All of that for ice. Valet staff were polite except for one gentleman who gave me a hard time when swapping vehicles and insisted we move even though it was a Sunday afternoon and no one was around, very obnoxious. There is no ironing board or iron, but there is a handheld steamer. The safe in my room did not work, kept showing "error" so I could not lock up my electronics and money. Because of that, I had to put the "no service" sign on my door and go get my own fresh towels so no one could come into the room unattended without the safe (that's how I started to feel here). The TV is decent and allows for easy sign on to streaming apps. Have not had much interaction with staff as I used self check in on the Hilton Honors app. No complimentary water offered as a Hilton Honors Diamond guest, they charged them to me $15 F&B credit for the day. I did eat at Millhouse and the food was pretty good and priced reasonably considering it's a hotel. Bed is reasonably comfortable. Long story short... I should have stayed at the Embassy Suites like I had originally planned. I got sucked into the photos and "historic preservation" gimmick which you pay for in your rate. Never again.

We came into town for our first home Steelers game, and from the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. As soon as we stepped into the quaint and charming lobby, we immediately understood why it's part of the Curio Collection. It's not overdone; just beautifully designed with an open concept where you can see the small bar area, coffee station, cozy tables and chairs, and even record players. When we checked in, we were so pleasantly surprised. We were greeted with a Terrible Towel, some cute lights, and fun Pittsburgh-themed swag. I had emailed the hotel manager ahead of time, and she truly set the tone for our trip. I was honestly teary-eyed walking in; it felt so special. The studio style room layout was perfect for two people. The bathroom with subway tile, the large windows, and the comfortable TV and couch area all made the space feel modern and welcoming. And the upstairs balcony? Stunning. We went up every night during our stay to take pictures and enjoy a drink. Strangely, no one else was ever up there, but it's such a beautiful space that everyone staying here should take advantage of. The location was great; we felt safe, and we were within walking distance of lots of local bars and restaurants. Overall, this was the perfect place to stay for anyone visiting Pittsburgh. I didn't park a car, and it was within a 5-10 minute walk of many places to eat (I recommend Piada). The breakfast was a good one with a waffle station, and plenty of thinks like premade sandwiches, bagels, muffins, eggs, sausage or bacon an other continental breakfast staples. No butter for the English muffins though! The room was nice, clean but the pillows were sucky sucky sucky! Yes, 3 sucky's! At least there were 4 pillows on the bed, which helped make up for it. The bathroom was a little small but the shower was nice. I'd consider staying here again if I was in the area as it was far enough away from the busy part of Oakland to be quiet. Some of the other hotels are in the thick of things and may have been noisy (I can't confirm that though).

It was quiet too which also helped with this. There were the normal breakfast options on the buffet for Marriott it was standard but I always enjoy the breakfast. The staff was friendly and accommodating, I needed a band-aid, which of course I didn't bring with me but the front desk covered me and asked if I needed one or two. I was in town for a volleyball tournament where we went 1-1 and after the loss there was no need for me to stay as long as I planned. On Friday evening I told them I would be checking out on Saturday instead of Sunday which they said would be fine and didn't charge me for Saturday even on the short notice. Lastly this is a good location too, everything you need is all around and if I'm in Pittsburgh agin I would definitely stay here again.

The room was clean, the shower was very spacious and tall, we caught a few show and movies on the tv and it was located in a good spot very close to a shopping center with food options, a movie theater and a grocery store. I ordered wings at the restaurant and my son got tomato soup. Both were fine, but nothing to write home about. The hotel did do us a solid though by keeping our bags while we attended a wedding am(we had checked out) and then we collected our stuff after the wedding and went straight to the airport (which was a very short 9 min ride from this Courtyard).
