I randomly found Dortech and spoke with Sal. He was able to come the same day. He gave me a time frame in which he would arrive and even texted me when he was on his way. He took a quick assessment and started fixing the broken pieces and reset the garage opener to close properly. He had quoted the price before he started the repair and it was all done at a reasonable cost.

I started looking for a new front entrance door in July 2025, went back to Confidence because they…read moreinstalled the garage doors for us a few years back, with a good price and no problem install. Spoke to Joe about my requirements for the door. We went back and forth for a few times, Joe is very patient with all my questions, requirements, and provided me with a number of updated quotes after a few changes. Finally the order was placed in late August. The door, with 2 side lites and multi points locking system, was ready, Joe called to confirm installation date. Ken with his installer, along with Joe came on August 6 to install the new door. They did a fantastic job in removing the old door and installing the new door. They cleaned up all the debris and left with a spotless space! In the next day, I found out that the door bottom sweep needs to be adjusted, emailed Joe on this. Within 2 days Ken and Joe came back to adjust the sweep, as well as providing 2 additional corner seala ensuring the new door is tight and no cold draft coming in. Overall, we are very pleased with the service, attention to details, and after install service with Confidence Door. He began the repair and initially quoted approximately $350. My sister was surprised by the high price, but because the window was unstable and at risk of falling, she felt pressured to proceed. After about 10 minutes of work, during which he had already removed the window from its frame, the technician informed her that the repair would actually cost $530, claiming he had discovered additional issues. At that point, my sister felt she had no choice but to agree, since the window was already removed and she could not stop the repair midway. The entire repair took about 40 minutes. The parts he replaced--shown in the attached photos--cost approximately $75 when purchased retail. This means the company charged $465 for 40 minutes of labour, which is unreasonable by any industry standard. At the end of the job, the technician requested cash payment, stating that he would "not charge taxes" if paid in cash. This is highly unprofessional and raises serious concerns. The following day, I contacted management to file a complaint. They were dismissive and only provided a receipt after I insisted and mentioned the technician's cash request. The receipt they issued is not itemized--no breakdown of parts, labour, or time spent--despite my request. This lack of transparency is unacceptable and appears intentional. I have home camera footage confirming the technician was present for only 40-45 minutes. I also have proof of the actual part costs. There is no justification for the inflated price, the mid job price increase, or the refusal to provide an itemized invoice. Lessons learned (and advice for others): * Always demand a final price before any work begins. * Never allow a contractor to change the price mid job. * Request an itemized estimate (parts + labour) before they start. * Ensure the time billed matches the actual time spent. * Always insist on an itemized receipt. A vague receipt is a red flag. I acknowledge that I made the mistake of allowing the work to begin without a confirmed final price, and my sister felt pressured. However, the company's behaviour--price changes mid job, refusal to itemize, and a request for cash to avoid taxes--is unacceptable and unprofessional. Despite repeated follow-ups, no one has come out to inspect or repair the work, and we've received no clear timeline or explanation for the delay. A warranty is only as good as the company's willingness to honor it, and so far that hasn't happened here. We'd gladly update this review if they follow through, but based on our experience, I can't recommend them until they start standing behind their own warranty.

BEWARE OF FOX DOORS…read more I had an extremely disappointing experience with Fox Doors and would strongly caution anyone considering using this company. I purchased FIVE commercial garage doors from Fox Doors for approximately $34,000 cash based on representations made by Daniel Vorobiov and Eddie (Eduard) Vorobiov. Their written quotation specifically stated: * R20 fully insulated Canadian-made doors * All new tracks, springs, and hardware * LiftMaster commercial-grade operators * 10 YEAR WARRANTY on all panels One of the conditions of the sale was that they would arrange installation after I paid cash upfront. After the doors were delivered, I was then told they could not provide an installer for approximately two months, forcing me to find and pay another installer myself just to complete the project. After installation, Fox Doors later claimed the doors required "fine tuning." They charged me an additional $2,000 to send one of their own technicians to adjust the doors. During that visit, their technician broke a torsion spring and another operator was left malfunctioning afterward. I have photo and video documentation regarding the condition of the doors and equipment. When I contacted Daniel and Eddie regarding the damage caused during their service visit, I was told I would need to pay for a replacement spring myself, even though their technician broke it. After multiple attempts to resolve the matter professionally, I was eventually told I had no warranty coverage despite the written quotation referencing warranty coverage and new spring/hardware systems. In my experience, the communication, accountability, and customer service were extremely poor. The agreement and expectations changed significantly after payment was made, and I was left with damaged equipment, additional costs, and unresolved problems. Buyer beware. Make sure every promise, installation commitment, service obligation, and warranty term is clearly documented in writing before making payment

They required 1/4 down so eventually I said well I'm gonna take a chance and they were more than $1000 cheaper. The quote I got from someone else and there was no waiting to get it done. I watched them work. And it was cold and I've been giving everybody their card. Also the doors are R 20 and the other quotes were our 12 and R18 from the other companies. nice guys too, plus they mfg the doors. I would recommend them to anyone.
