I learned about this cafe years ago when I wanted to try something new and get some ice cream. Over time, I started spending hours being productive, hanging out and enjoying the atmosphere. We were craving shaved ice and wanted something local so we decided to try COCOHODO this establishment is within walking distance from where I live. They have many menu items but we ordered snowy Bingsoo, which consisted of snow ice texture with dairy and fresh strawberries, It wasn't bad something different. The customer service was friendly and courteous. The structure is medium in size, it's put together nicely with plenty of tables to sit down and enjoy your dessert. My husband came across this place because it brought back childhood memories for him. He hadn't had the walnut red bean pastries since he was a kid. I'd never heard of it. So he wanted me to try it. We ordered two bags of the walnut pastries. We would've also ordered shaved ice but the cashier said the machine was broken. Pretty decent French macarons. They offer more mainstream flavors, such as chocolate, vanilla, salted caramel, pistachio, lemon, raspberry, strawberry, green tea, etc. The texture is pretty good and the pricing is fairly reasonable. However, I suspect they don't make the macarons fresh here, as I actually saw them taking more out of a big box from the back. Nonetheless, this is a decent option if you're just looking for a macaron fix or are interested in some of their other desserts (which I have yet to try)! read more

Yep, these little hard gems have been around for over a hundred years in South Korea and now here where we all can enjoy them! A fun fact alert! This walnut snack is popular during the cold season and that's a fact! So these freshly baked nutcrackers are sometimes filled with cream mousse and nuts for that added sweetness. So since I was new to this even though I grew up in Koreatown, it was a tasty experience. My tastebuds were confused with the sweet and nutty flavors but passed inspection of this delightful Korean treat. Fun fact alert! Some or many Asian countries revere walnuts not on due to the fact that they're nutritious but because they do kinda resemble brains. True fact people! INSANELY BIZARRE TO THE NEXT LEVEL! Like literally... NEXT LEVEL!!! It was 101 degrees today. I went in to order a drink, planned on sitting down to wait for a few of my friends. The lady refused to turn on the AC, so I decided to leave to find another place that has AC. Didn't find a cafe... So I went back in and mentioned I'll be sitting down with my friends, please turn on the AC, we will all order, she still refused, but brought out her son (I believe it was her son) this man is Korean, in his 20's or early 30's, wears glasses, heavy weight, about 5'10. He kept telling me they are a bakery store and only to to-gos, if that's the case, they shouldn't have tables and seats out for customers. I told them that it's very hot, they should turn on the AC, this man told me there's a cafe down the street, they have AC, that's why they don't turn on the AC. I'm like ok, I'll go there, then suddenly this man said "GET THE FUCK OUT MY STORE!" I turned, furious, and yelled back that they're unprofessional and walked out... Then, I heard his mom yelling in the store, I turned, I saw him RAN OUT THE STORE and came after me and looks like he was going to HIT ME!!! Then his mom ran out and tried to stop him. I am a 5'1 110 pounds female... He started cursing, his mom stood between us and I was TERRIFIED AND SHOCKEd!!! I ended up speed walking away while his mom is holding him back. I called the police but realized the store was closed when we got there. The police told me I can call again and meet them there tomorrow. I ordered the combo B which includes 9 walnut pastries and 2 coffees. I didn't specify whether I wanted sugar or cream with it - so they came out black. Regardless, I came to try out their walnut pastries and I was not dissapointed. I love that their in the shape and in the size of real walnuts. It's most filled with red bean paste and a small piece of walnut. The red bean is super sweet, not bitter at all. And the outside bread is really soft as well. Shared between two people, 9 pastries are perfect. Combo B comes to about $10 and a small bag (10 pastries) costs about $5. I would understand if the location was busy, or if we had been there for hours on end, but we had been there for less than an hour. I have driven past Cocohodo cafe for years but never went inside. They are in the same plaza as Hanmi Bank, New Garden and Cham Sut Gol Korean BBQ. I went for their macarons but also got their walnut pastries. Good thing I did. I got Earl Grey macarons and the cookie part had a faint flavor of Earl Grey tea, but sadly the chocolate ganache filling over powered the tea flavor. The almond flour cookies have a very soft texture, not crunchy and delicious like Lette. I would say, 3 stars for the Earl Grey macarons. I will have to try their other flavors next time to see if the macarons are worth getting. Now, their walnut pastries are what they are famous for and what my 5 stars are for.
