Wow! I didn't expect it to be so big! They have a nice deck for spectating, listening to music, having some drinks and eating hot food. If I remember correctly there are about 16 courts and each row signifies skill level. I'm always looking for an alternative to exercising at the gym so I'm glad my friend invited me out to see his league in action. I can't wait to sign up for the spring league! They are located next to the Ponchartrain Center-you cant miss it. I parked in the first lot a saw but there are huge parking lots on both sides. Don't be a fool like me and think that there was going to be a paved area once you enter-its ALL SAND so wear sand appropriate shoes:)

Coconut Beach is great. There are numerous courts to play on. While I can't speak for any night other than friday, the courts will fill up by about 730 so get there early! If you happen to come later, most people are more than welcome to add you to their game. If volleyball isn't your thing, there is a large bar area to quench your thirst. The prices are great and they have decent beer options including a few craft brews. Sodas, water, and sports drinks are available for the party poopers as well. The bartenders do unfortunately have a hard time properly serving the large bar area. Sometimes they often seem a little aloof as to what's going on. Definitely the place to go on these summer nights!!!

I'm not sure if he still works here, but Brandon Rousseve is definitely an amazing personal trainer and baseball player! Anyway, I've been wanting to check it out since about 2011 when I heard the jaw-dropping words "indoor batting cages." What could be better than an indoor place to play your favorite sports during our hot and humid summers? Of course, it would be even better if I had come when I could actually PLAY one of these sports; unfortunately, my injured wrist won't be permitting that anytime soon. Besides batting cages they have a baseball diamond, basketball courts, an indoor volleyball court, free weights, and a concession stand just to name a few things. From what I can see, it looks like they have some weight machines on the second floor. I'm guessing this might come with one of their fitness packages. Big Easy Sportsplex is definitely one of New Orleans' hidden gems. It's a great play to play indoors with a very fair price that won't break the bank. Thank you to the person who decided to create this great place! I can't wait to come enjoy it when my wrist is healed. In the meantime, I'll sit back, drink my icee, and watch my friends. I met Josh Tolbert towards the end of the night, and he gave me a mini tour. Thanks, Josh!

That is my one complaint, for if that was still there this would be the best gym I've ever been to. Rumor has it the Lakers once scrimmage there. They have a cold plunge ice bath, I also wish they had a real cold dip, like they do at Oshner Harahan. The sauna is huge, and so is the steam room. Marble showers, this place is truly unique. It takes a while to get a hang of where everything is, there's so many different places to work out. Classes are rad, I've done hard body and boot camp so far lead by Tony. Who is this man BTW. From the second you walk in, it feels like old-school charm meets modern-day motivation. The building itself is gorgeous -- think chandeliers, brick walls, and history dripping from every dumbbell. The weight room? Massive. The cardio section? Plenty of options. The pool? Stunning and feels like something Gatsby would've done laps in. And don't even get me started on the boxing ring -- I half-expected to see Rocky training in the corner. There's even a Turkish bath. Yes, a Turkish bath -- where else are you gonna find that? This means that they can't perform for all customers at once, which is fine. Honestly, the show needed a little more variety. One of the servers said he had auditioned as a dancer but they didn't have a spot, but I would argue they very much do. It would have been nice to see more than 3 performers. They do give change, so if you're worried about getting cash from an ATM or that you only have big bills, worry no more! They have a guy that goes around at the start of the show and gives change. Service was good, mimosa ratios were great. Food was also good. We had the pork chops, crab curry bisque, and truffle mac and cheese. All were great, especially the crab curry bisque. I'm not sure how you get bar seats, but that seemed like the place to be. It's where all the performers seemed to start and had the best view.

Why should you choose the Abrie du Plooy Tennis Academy? The bottom line is...THEY TRAIN WINNERS…read more If you are serious about your children's tennis goals, this is hands down the best junior tennis academy in the area that trains high performance players and properly prepares them for tournament level play. All you have to do is look at the academy students to see they are highly ranked in both UTR and USTA and consistently win tournaments. 20% of the current top 8 players in the 14U, 16U, and 18U USTA divisions in the entire state of Louisiana are from Abrie du Plooy Tennis Academy...and that's pretty impressive. We've personally had experience with junior tennis programs in two different country clubs and a major health club. While they all have good intentions, they primarily cater to member satisfaction and not the long-term goals of junior tennis players. If you want your kids to just have fun or give them something to do, then the club scenario would be the best choice. But if you want your kids to train with the best, excel at tennis, and meet long-term college and beyond goals, they have to train with like-minded players that are serious and with coaches who know how to produce winners. ADP Tennis Academy trains junior tennis players to win and trains them hard. I can now definitely see the difference between a "club" player and an "ADP academy player" when on the court. The reason we joined Abrie du Plooy Tennis Academy is because there were a handful of players my boys just couldn't beat and these same players were always winning the local tournaments. Guess where every single one of them trained at? Abrie du Plooy Tennis Academy. Before joining ADP Tennis Academy, my boys tennis training and rankings were stagnant and despite spending a lot of time and money, they were not improving. Once we joined ADP Tennis Academy, everything changed. In just 4 months' time, my boys UTR rankings have increased from 2.91 to 4.27 and 2.38 to 3.46. Their USTA rankings have gone from #29 to #15 and #59 to #6 in the state. I have no doubt we made the right decision moving to Abrie and the ADP Tennis Academy and I can't wait to see how far they will go.

Dear Academy Management,…read more I am writing to formally express my deep concerns regarding the tennis training program that my daughter and I participated in at the Abrie Duplooy Tennis Academy from March 2024 through March 2025. At the outset, we entered into a verbal agreement that included the following services each week: * One weekly lesson with Coach Abrie Duplooy * One weekly lesson with Coach Marshall * Two weekly hitting sessions with college-level athletes Unfortunately, the actual experience fell far short of these expectations. After only nine lessons, Coach Abrie abruptly stopped communicating and ceased attending our sessions as of September 2024. Despite repeated inquiries, we received no explanation--other than Coach Li vaguely referencing an undisclosed personal health issue. Given that I paid $13,790 for the program, I believe I was entitled to timely, transparent communication and a proper explanation of his permanent departure from our training plan. Also when I enrolled in the program, I was assured that the academy would be flexible with scheduling to accommodate our frequent travel needs. In addition, we encountered persistent issues with coaching quality and consistency. Many lessons were conducted by individuals who appeared to lack proper coaching credentials. Several were student players, not professional coaches. In particular, I recall sessions with Coach Harold, Kike, and Isaac. If these individuals are indeed qualified, I would appreciate it if you could provide documentation of their coaching certifications. The inconsistency in instruction made it difficult for my daughter to progress and significantly diminished the value of the program. We also experienced challenges regarding equipment. Despite repeated requests, my daughter was not provided with green-dot balls, which are developmentally appropriate for her level. Instead, standard yellow balls were used, which caused frustration and unnecessary stress for her during training. Our concerns escalated when, after expressing the need to replace a particular student coach and reiterating the request for the proper training balls, we were unexpectedly disinvited from the Florida summer camp. Compounding this, I had raised concerns about your original plan to house arrangement to house teenage boys and girls together during the Florida camp, which I found inappropriate and troubling. Rather than initiating a constructive dialogue, we were simply told that my daughter was "not ready" for the trip. When we attempted to schedule lessons last week, the response we received was: "Hi Arlene. Thank you for the feedback. Appreciate it. Based on all the above mentioned, we think Solara is not ready for the Florida trip this year. We are happy to have you and Solara next year when she is more ready. Please provide a method of payment, so I can give you the full refund for this trip. We wish you and your family have a wonderful summer break." The tone of "Have a wonderful summer break," paired with the decision to exclude us from the trip, felt dismissive--especially since you were aware of our relocation in May. I am formally requesting that a member of the academy's leadership reach out to us to arrange an in-person meeting so that we may resolve this matter constructively. Additionally, I am requesting a written explanation and a formal apology for the academy's failure to uphold the agreed-upon terms of our program. We trusted the academy to support our daughter's development in a respectful, structured environment. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of that standard. I hope the academy takes this feedback seriously and takes steps to ensure future students and families are treated with the professionalism, fairness, and respect they deserve. Thank you for your attention. I look forward to your response. Sincerely, Arlene Chung

I signed my daughter up for the "Sparks" program, which is made up of 3 & 4 year olds. I'm pretty sure this is the only NOLA soccer club to have anything for these little ones, hence the HUGE demand. In Kenner, we have about 40 kids in my daughter's program. They practice once a week for an hour. It can be a little bit disorganized, since there are 3-4 coaches for a huge number of kids (plus a few volunteer parents), but the kids enjoy it. I definitely get the feeling that the coaches are passionate about the game, and they care about the kiddos. Overall, I recommend this to any parent looking to get their son/daughter involved in an activity.

How is placing a first time playing, 8 year old, 42 lb girl on a team with experienced 9 1/2, 70 lb boys, instead of other 8 year old girls a good idea? Well tough, because she's born at the end of the year, so she plays up. So a calendar controls over actual experience, and the end result is resentment, and little practice and development, because the volunteer coach needs to focus on the more experienced boys. And this is supposed to be recreational and designed to develop a lifetime affinity for soccer! Did I mention the director ignores you when you bring these concerns to his attention?
