I don't think my older dog even knows he's at the vet, he just thinks he's having a cookie party with some nice people! My younger one is absolutely terrified of vets, and they're so gentle and slow with him. They let him take all the time he needs and are great about talking to you before they do anything, figuring out the best approach, and doing whatever is best for the dog. Especially Amanda. We love Amanda! Another bonus is that they have several great vets on staff. They're able to specialize in different things and collaborate with each other so they can cover all their bases. My young dog even got a specialized procedure from their orthopedic surgeon. He would have had to wait months for an appointment with a specialist somewhere else. All around, they're super accommodating, kind, and will take their time to get things right and make sure everyone's comfortable. That's the most important thing to me for a vet.

Fortunately, I came across the All Creatures website and I called the office and was able to make a same day appointment. My bird is 5 years old and he has NEVER gotten sick before. I had been worried about him for 2 days prior since he started puffing up, falling asleep in the middle of the day, barely eating, not chirping, and overall, just not being his usual energetic self. I brought him to the clinic where Dr. West determined he was in respiratory distress likely secondary to an airway infection. She explained that it's quite common in birds especially this time of year and that the smallest things such as fluctuations in the A/C or heat and particles from air vents can cause this. He was prescribed antibiotics as well as a type of supplemental food and probiotics that I administered via syringe over 10 days. I am SO SO happy to report that he is back to chirping non-stop, playing with his toys, and shredding all the paper and wood that he can find. I am immensely grateful for their help (as someone who rarely writes reviews, on this I felt compelled to) and while I hope my bird never gets sick again, if he does, I know precisely where to go. He did not listen to my advice and ended up getting bitten. As a result, the poor cat, who was already traumatized, had to be quarantined for ten days, adding to his trauma. Then, on top of that, he was only given a 1 year rabies shot so next year he will have to go through it all over again.
