Dope space, welcoming folks! Glad there's a studio like this not to far from Wichita.

It is impeccably designed and maintained. It is incredibly clean and tastefully decorated in a beautifully minimalistic way with wonderful accent lighting. I was fortunate enough to work with Bryan, who was kind enough to engineer my session with a remote studio in San Francisco. I will be honored to return to evolution audio in the future. I very much enjoyed my time here, and the kindness of everyone who I encountered.

I'm not sure if I can do this, but this review is not about the recording studio itself, of which I…read morehave never stepped foot in nor have I seen anybody or anything actually come out of the building, but this review is about the graffiti adorning it's walls. So here's the backstory; there is a lot of graffiti by an artist named Scribe in Kansas City, who made a name for himself actually doing mainstream art stuff and he was actually hired to do his spray paint stuff on quite a few buildings around the city (the old Woodsweather's Cafe, Big Dude's before they painted over it, the wall across from Gomer's liquor on 39th and Broadway, and the masterpiece, behind the old XO dance club, behind the parking lot on the NW corner of Westport Rd. and Broadway before the hooligans go to it; among many others). Anyhow, while there are many other talented graffiti artists around town (see the old community center south of the church at 2544 Madison Ave near the Blvd. Brewing company), Scribe and his buddies have been pretty prolific. And while I think I've seen most of them, and have decent taste in the graphic arts, I am most impressed by the murals at Evolution Audio. Here's the thing, the graffiti itself it always fantasy-themed, and very anthromorphic, as if playing a game with the viewer, asking the viewer to push the limits of their preconceptions. Along that note, these murals actually integrate the building itself, and plays a trompe l'oeil on the viewer, making this mural fresh and new every time you look at it, beyond the exciting characters and attention to detail in the artwork. And what may be even more impressive, Evolution Audio's web site actually has a menu page, of local eateries. They are yelpers at heart, I'm sure. http://www.evolutionaudio.com/locate.html
