My partner in dining ordered a croissant filled with gruyere cheese and button mushrooms and a béchamel sauce and a pot of tea. The drinks came almost instantly, it was a pretty good flat white and i liked the cup and saucer it came in; don't judge me I find it important how things are presented. The tea came on its own tray/chopping board that seemed to take up half of the table which proved a bit of an issue when the food arrived not 5 minutes later. No sudden movements please, nearly sent a piece of toast careening off to the next table. My poached eggs were cooked well, suspiciously perfectly formed and dome like as if created by some dark magic but runny inside so I was happy, and the toast was well - like toast I added my own butter. The croissant came with a side salad and was a decent sized portion, however the béchamel sauce made the pastry go stodgy, the sauce itself tasted a bit floury. Unlike other cheese and mushroom croissants this wasn't toasted it was a croissant that had be cut in half; had whole (not sliced) button mushrooms and cheese but inside then slathered in the sauce. Hate to say it but the Starbucks version is tastier and cheaper. With that all said and done, I would go back for coffees and breakfast. It's a nice alternative to the likes of Costa and Starbucks (we doth not mention Nero) and you can almost always get a seat.
