This was a real find for us. Enjoyed the lamb burger and also the angus burger - two in our party. Salad was great too - service great and a very friendly and experienced server. Only criticism - change all the faded and unsightly window dressings. Faded by the sun - about five years ago. It'll improve the ambiance and get the ones that match the carpet. We had planned a trip to Lubec to take a charter boat out to see the Puffins. We made a reservation in advance to stay at Cohill's. While we were driving up, the charter company called and left a voicemail (cell service is spotty up there) that the seas were too rough and the boat would not be going out the next morning. We arrived a bit later than expected at the Inn, but they were just happy to have us arrive safely. They contacted the charter company for us to try and get us on another trip that weekend. After a very long drive, they kept the pub open a bit longer and let us sneak in a few pints to relax. Disappointed that we drove all those hours only to have our excursion cancelled, they answered multitudes of questions and offered lots of advice on other things to do and see in the area. Continental breakfast had everything one would expect; cereal, juice, coffee, tea, toast, english muffins, yogurt & fruit. We did eat dinner there one night as well and had one of the best steaks I've ever had in my life. Our room was spacious, clean and had an amazing view. Wifi worked great. Very happy with our stay at Cohill's. Hopefully we'll be back one day to see those Puffins! read more

Room was clean which is why I'm giving 2 stars, planned on eating there too but the young waitress told me not to sit at table which had multiple seats... what single person sits at a table of 4??? Didn't say where I should go which I guess was the bar (to eat dinner... NO). I bought a room and am not sitting at a bar or dealing with a rude waitress looking for tips. Wonderful experience to FEEL YOU'RE IN THEIR WAY... I walked out and ate elsewhere. Had a good nights sleep but was happy to put the keys in the bowl and get on the road. read more

They are only there to cater to the tourists, closes when ever he want, and he isn't afraid to throw sarcasm your way if you come in after 7:30, even though his sign says 9:00. I wouldn't go back if I was starving. Definitely not a place that locals go to eat. read more

I was not expecting this restaurant to be the epitome of fine dining but boy was I surprised by the pure shit they served. I ordered the three cheese ravioli (as stated on the menu) and promptly waited half an hour for seven pieces of microwaved and rubbery ravioli from the frozen food aisle in Costco. Not to mention, calling it 'three cheese' ravioli is a ridiculous overstatement as the filling was entirely made of ricotta and scantily topped with thin slices of sharp cheddar. Now I know that this is not an Italian establishment but to charge $17 for something utterly inedible even by common standards? An atrocity. One star for the hummus and mediocre service. read more

I liked this spot. The chalkboard menu was simple enough with some unique offerings. Upscale pub food imho. The service was slow. She was busy but friendly and did try really hard to keep up. Spent one night here at Lubec's waterfront. the room was clean and well appointed, the staff friendly & helpful, and the owners great. It is situated right by two other restaurants and the local watering hole - Annabel's. The inn was quiet, although full. And the views of the Lubec Narrows and Johnson's Bay were spectacular. I come Downeast every summer and have long wanted a good place to stay in Lubec. This fits the bill. I've read the negative reviews (2) here and find them mean-spirited and objectively incorrect. Hoping Cohill's is a success for its owners. read more

Decent, but mediocre food. You could make most of the stuff yourself at home. Pretty simple and if that's what you're going for that is exactly what you'll get. Typical Maine tourism food. Lobster dinners, etc. Really nice staff and not a bad view of the ocean. read more

We ate dinner at Cohills on a recent trip to Lubec. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday night, with all the tables filled and a slight wait To be seated. The service was as friendly and prompt as we remembered from a previous visit. We started our meal with a plate of smoked oysters and a cup of haddock chowder. I loved the smoked oysters! Especially after a visit to the local smokehouse museum.... Just makes me crave smoked fish! The haddock chowder was also delicious, full of fish with a nice creamy broth. I ordered the steak salad, which was done perfectly medium rare on nice fresh greens. My husband and daughter both had grilled salmon, also cooked perfectly and paired with green beans and potatoes. We finished up with bowls on blueberry ice cream, though my husband really wanted to try the Guinness Float with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. read more

Friendly, great food, beautiful view of the bay, what else could we ask for? We spent a week near Lubek, and tried almost every restaurant in tow, and this was my favorite. Even though we didn't get a table next to the window, we still had a great views of the bay, and the large windows made it seem light and airy. My lobster roll was great, with big chunks of sweet lobster claw and only the smallest amount of mayo, on a lovely brioche roll. If you're doing low carb, you can order it without the roll, and they'll put it on a nice salad. Highly recommend! read more

The food and atmosphere at Cohill's Inn are great! I can't say enough about the friendly service at the bar and at the tables. The food is well made, and prepared with nice ingredients. We had a great time sitting at the bar, chatting with the owners and the staff. Also met the town preacher, who helps supply the Inn with pies (try the mince meat - ridiculous). Delicious food, the world soccer game on television, and a stunning view out over the Passamaquoddy bay. Delightful. The owners are easy going, prepare excellent burgers, (really the best I've had though admittedly I was starving at the time) and are accommodating to people obsessed with soccer. Cohill's Inn is the sweetest little place. With very friendly staff, and rooms that have just enough of what you need, I would highly recommend it if you happen to find yourself six hours away from home in Northern Lubec like me. They do have a restaurant downstairs, we did not eat there but it smelled like delicious coffee all night and the people who were there were lively and content. I would definitely go if we didn't only book one night. The town itself is small but beautiful, water surrounding you everywhere. We ate delicious sourdough pizza here in Lubec and spent the night watching one the the longest and most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen. Truly! Since it's the most Eastern Point, and you can see for miles over the sea, the sun set for over an hour. It was an amazing experience. And the sunrise, which we could see from our lovely room (room 8) here at the Cohill's Inn was nearly just as good. Lot's of dogs, friendly locals, good times. We found this place randomly and decided to just get away, and I'm very glad we did. Probably couldn't stay here much longer than a weekend, as there isn't a bunch to do, but a one night stay was perfect. I'd love to stop here again in a few years and see that wild sunset again. read more

Recently had dinner here with my husband and kids. Atmosphere was friendly, drinks were great, food was just OK with the exception of the Haddock Chowder, which was delicious. Prices were a little high for what was served, but we understand this is a seasonal business. Would have preferred french fries over potato chips on the side. We started our tour of Lubec, ME with dinner at Cohill's Inn. The view from the dinning area is spectacular, that is the only thing good about this place. We sat down and we were hand menus, about 3 minutes later our waitress asked if we were ready to order, we asked for more time. She returned with a rushed attitude. After ordering we listen to her speak with her friends at another table for over 20 minutes, this was the reason for rushing us so she could go and catch up on the lasted local gossip. When she was finished she rushed around to the other tables to catch up on orders. Our food arrived all at once, appitizer, salad and the main course. We had order a smoked sea food sampler for the appitizer, I thought it would be fresh local caught, but it turn out to be from a can. The salad I order was a roasted beet salad, but again I was disappointed the beets were not even cooked. The halibut dinner I recieved consisted of a piece of fish that was burnt on the bottom and raw on the top with 3 pieces of raw broccoli, but the funny thing was I was asked if I wanted bake potato or mashed, I asked for mashed. I recieved what looked like a scoped out a bake potato plopped on my plate. I should have listen to the other reviews I read about this place. We did enjoy ourself at other places I would highly recommend the Water Steet Travern, Fisherman's Wharf and Frank's Dockside. We where in Lubec for a week and ate at these places several times and the service and quality of food was outstanding. We also stopped by Monica's chocolates and spent over an hour picking out some of the best chocolate I have ever tasted, it was an incredible treat. read more

We sampled the lamb burger, regular burger, and steak salad. All diners were very happy. I ordered my burger medium rare and it was actually a real medium rare - thank you! We had the spinach/artichoke dip for an appetizer and it was rather average but what did I expect really. The service was super fast and friendly.
