There are only 2 stations in this place so depending on how many customers there are, there might be a wait. I've waited close to 30 minutes a few times when I really wanted to get my haircut depending on how many people in front of me an how complex of a haircut or hair-styling service they want. Both the husband and wife do men's and women's hair and the price is very good. Located a few steps away from from one of the Du College metro exits, this place is situated between the 2 exits and is less than a 1 minute walk from either exit but probably slightly closer to the metro exit on Du College street. I generally drive there and there is free parking somewhat close-by. The parking right in front of this place can be hit or miss. There are a few 10 minute parking places (but I generally don't park in these spots since I don't want to risk getting a ticket) and a little further away, there are a few (maybe enough space for 5 parked cars) what I believe to be 60 minute parking spots. If I can't find parking in front of the place, during the times that I normally go for my haircuts, there are a few streets close-by that offer free parking. This place is cash only so they don't accept debit cards or credit cards. I go there for a simple haircut so I don't look at the price list much which is situated on top of the mirror facing the 2 hair-cutting stations but they also do things like perms.

Found Furisme while strolling through the fabulous Plateau-Mile End area when I spotted a woman exiting the salon with an amazing haircut. Co-owner Marco offered me a friendly greeting at the door. I did not have an appointment and all of the senior stylists were booked so I ended up giving their junior stylist, Cindy, a try. I was first treated to a long, luxurious shampoo and scalp massage while lying flat out on a chaise instead of sitting in one of those uncomfortable shampoo chairs. The products used smelled amazing and my hair felt terrific when we were through. Cindy may be relatively new to the industry but she is talented and enthusiastic. My cut took about an hour (before styling) but I do have "problem hair." She did spend extra time too putting some nice finishing touches here and there and made sure I looked my best when I left. Other stylists seemed pretty friendly and the overall atmosphere was fun and relaxed with some very cool music flowing in the background. My cut cost me under $40US with tip so I was quite satisfied with the value. Cuts by senior staff are a little more expensive. Having your hair done by a recent graduate might not appeal to everyone but I lucked out and my hair looks great!

My hairdresser back home in Ontario had been doing my hair for 15yrs. She knew her products, knew her job, and had major pride in her work. I have been trying to find someone like this since I got here. I really thought this one was it. They're FB reviews are great, as is their website reviews. It took me an hr and a half to get there as they are on the south shore, and I had to take public transit. Google Maps isn't up to date on their address, so I got lost. But that's not their fault at all. I guess I should start with the fact that I made an appt over a month in advance, but no one had ever called me to confirm. So I called again that morning to make sure I would be seen. My appt was for 4pm. I after getting lost, I get there and there are 2 hairstylists working, and each are braiding hair. I sat down to wait. I was super hungry after 30 min, so I asked if I had time to go and eat, and was told I should hurry. (Total B.S). So I went to eat, got back and waited....and waited..... and waited. After an hr one of the hairstylists asked me what I was getting done, and I said relax, deep condition, style with a trim. She picked a relaxer I really didn't want, so I asked if I could choose my own. She asked what I'd like, and I stated Motions. She said ok, but never even got the box. She used her choice, even after I mentioned what I'd like. I waited 3.5 hrs for someone to work on me. I didn't leave because it had taken 1.5hrs to get there and I didn't have time to go anywhere else. This was for my wedding in a weeks time. I needed it done that day. So after all of the wait I was finally seen. She was just ok. I had to ask that she trim my hair as the last stylist I went to botched that, and I needed it to be fixed. In the end when I paid, it was $105. That's more than I've ever paid, especially for such a long wait, and a lack luster job. When I checked my email, I noted I was charged $15 to trim my ends. WHAT?? So you make me wait, and instead of having pride in your work, and making my hair look the best it could, you charged me to trim off my spit ends? B.S. AND she didn't even trim my bangs or make the left and right side match, I had to do it myself when I got home. If you're going to charge me to trim my hair, then do a damn good job. Lastly her assistant offered to drive me back to the metro. But you'd think if she offered she'd know where it is. Closest one is Bonaventure or Longueuil. She drove me all the way to D'Iberville. It took me longer to get home from the metro than it did to get to the damn salon. All in all, I will NOT be returning to this salon. My hair was pretty decent, and nice and silky. But the experience I had was extremely sub par. I am not happy at all with this place. Where are the salons that give a damn? Where is the pride in your work? Unacceptable.

It's taken me a long time to write this review but after finding a proper salon in Montreal with…read moregood ethics and great results I've finally decided to write about my opposite experience at Beaute Business. I began seeing Jessica Hoff in December who was going to help me with the very long process of going blonde. The first few sessions we had together were good besides the fact that she ruined my dress by getting bleach on it but mistakes happen and that's understandable. She won my loyalty over with the skill she showed back then and that was enough to keep me coming back for more. The last few sessions we had together were horrible. I booked an appointment a month in advance for my final process of going blonde and it started off late. I booked my appointment and arrived on time but was not seen until half an hour later. As a frequent client of her's I completely understood that as well. What was not understandable was that after discussing my goal with Jessica over the past few months of what I wanted my hair to look and communicating an understanding as to what that goal was was her sitting me down in her chair and attending to other clients while I booked weeks in advance to have her time to myself. I understand that hairstylists can multi task but her multitasking resulted in my hair being left over toned in the sink and turning out DARK BLUE. Not only did she not apologize after seeing this happened as I at the time was too much in shock to tell her how I disappointed i was she tried to convince me that this hair colour was intentional and she did it to cut the brass out of my hair. I had so much faith in her at the time that I left the salon believing her but after going home and reflecting, I realized that this was clearly a mistake. After confronting her boss about this they agreed to fix it up for me by putting a colour remover but after that my hair was still not the blonde colour I wanted. It was a grey silver colour with a strange undertone that after a few washes turned out to be GREEN. Furious, I then asked her what this was all about and she said that the green tint was caused by the lighting in certain rooms. After going a week with this colour and going to multiple salons to receive their opinion they decided that the lighting was not the case and that she did not do a proper job with removing the blue, hence the green undertones still being in my hair. I asked her to fix this again. The first time they fixed my hair they did not ask for any compensation but Jessica had the audacity to ask me to tip her the third time she went to fix my hair. I understand doing so because she spent time on my hair, but I would never have been in the position to return back the third time if she just got it right the first time. Even after the third session my hair still pulled a green tint and that is when I called it quits with this dishonest business. After going to a different salon who fixed it properly, my hair has never pulled a green tint. They tried to cover up their poor skills and mistakes with lies and excuses. Don't go here if you don't want to waste time and energy.
