I got a love it Cookie Minster, it's mint ice cream with oreos and fudge. It was awesome! I got it because i don't like chocolate chips in ice cream. Initially the guy who made it added chocolate chips and then when we started looking confused he asked his coworker and then took them out. He gave an awesome amount of ice cream-we ended up sharing the love it size which i would recommend. Even in the dead of winter ice cream is always a good treat!

My friends and I have a tradition where we gather as a group to celebrate each other's birthdays. The birthday girl gets to pick where we have dinner and then dessert. The birthday girl chose Cold Stone. When we went in there was a line but it was so nice out people were taking their ice cream outside to eat. A bridal party came in right after is so the line was really long. I was super impressed with how quickly the line was going. The employees were all very kind and were helpful if you couldn't make up your mind. They have a lot of choices. Like everyone else our group took our ice cream outside to eat. We all dove into our ice cream. It was all we could do not to lick the cups once the ice cream was gone. Every person liked what they had. It was a great dessert choice.

I've been getting customized ice cream cakes here for years and they never let me down. They're always so yummy.

Cold Stone is definitely a chain with all of the good and bad aspects which go along with being a chain, but they do have decent quality ice cream with decent quality mix-ins. True, the ice cream is a bit expensive, but this isn't a bad place to go. There are some tables inside where you can sit and enjoy your highly sugared treat. For something with a bit more local flair, try "Oh Yeah!" in Shadyside.

Two LOVE IT sized ice creams... um... NOPE!

They have two cases of their delicious looking pastries, one table of discounted items, and a case serving hot items. Open that case and serve yourself the hot mini quiches and empanadas. Started with a mini quiche and a beef empanada. Hubby liked his quiche. I'm not a fan of olives and they were all over my beef empanada. Will not be getting that one again. The kind young lady behind the case helped us order our very first Burnt Almond Torte. It comes in different sizes and we chose the bar as it easily serves two. She even gave us sporks to eat it with. We really loved the Burnt Almond Torte. The inside has a soft, moist vanilla cake layered with a thin layer of icing and enrobed with more icing and topped with the buttery, crunchy almonds. We will be back for more.

I started with the quiche and enjoyed it; the crust was just average but the egg filing was very good. My wife was not a fan of the empanada so we will not get that again. It was around 10 hours before we tried our Burnt Almond Torte...wow! That dessert is something that I will eat again, and again. The toasted almonds were soooo good! They were crunchy, crispy, and perfect. The Bar Cake had a white cake inside and icing on the outside; it was heavily coated in those almonds. The person who assisted was knowledgeable about the items to a point; she did not eat anything in the bakery so it was by observation. Don't care, that Burnt Almond Torte is the real deal!

Great spot for dessert after dinner or as part of a date, too. I specifically went in for the "fancy" hot chocolate, which is made with real chocolate pieces. The baked goods were also tasty - my only suggestion is to make sure you ask to have your item warmed up, depending on what you get, as they are kept in a cool case and something like a brownie for example was pretty hard to eat. The sever did recognize this and offered to heat it up after the fact; which made it perfect. All of the baked goods were perfectly wrapped or garnished. The interior has a decent amount of seating and lots of dried flowers everywhere. Definitely try the hot chocolate!
