I took my vehicle for repair, it had a charging issue. The truck sat outside from Friday until Tuesday afternoon, when I heard back from them. I never received a call asking for approval or of a dollar amount. EVERY single auto repair shop I have ever used, always requests approval, before completing the work. That is for the customer and business owner. But they called to tell me that the repair was complete, they replaced the battery with a dead cell and battery cable end. What they didn't do was 1. Call for approval and 2. Save the battery with a dead cell, that was less than a year old AND still under warranty. If they would have called me like an honest business does, I would have said, ok, great. Take the battery back to where it was bought, which is actually colder than AutoZone, and the warranty allows for a freebie. Instead they ordered a battery from AutoZone and gave them my 1 year old battery which was under warranty and charged me $338. That repair should have been at most $200. When I raised hell about it, the 'owner' said to me, it's fixed, we made the repair, ordered the battery and if you want you can go to AutoZone and get the olde one. First off, be a good business owner, and apologize. Secondly, make the call in the first place to get approval. How many people with batteries under warranty do you think they have done this with? If they are a long standing repair shop, which they claim to be, they have done this at least ten, if not 100. I feel as though this was an unethical practice and they have lost my business, my family business and whoever reads this. And for a difference of maybe $150 bucks. I am actually inclined to believe that the battery was good and they turned it in for warranty or used it for another vehicle. The fact is, the vehicle only drove 50 miles from the date I bought the battery. read more

I took my 2004 Honda Civic in for repairs. I am not from around Portsmouth so finding a good mechanic was paramount after moving here from 2 hours away. After 2 estimates from local shops and 1 from the dealer this was the break down. Bill Cole was 790 in KY. Local in Portsmouth was 650 and a 3 week waiting list Local # 2 in Portsmouth told me something different than the OBD # 2 reading from Autozone said. Also quoted 750 to up to 1,000. Last but not least was Cole Auto , the owner Jason Cole quoted me 500 and that consist of V Tech replacement , tune up and oil change with Lucas. Jason was honest and direct , and that is hard to find anywhere. I will continue to do business here for as long as I live in the West Portsmouth , Ohio. One star is too many. Took my car to this garage and I regret now. We took it in to have ball joints and front brakes done. After keeping my car for 2 weeks the estimate went from 400.00 to 550.00. But when I picked the car up the total ended up being 670.00. The owner told my wife that he talked to me every step of the way but that was a lie. I told the owner that anything over 400.00 he needed to call me first before doing anything. After several attempts to call him there was no answer over the two week period we ended up leaving a message on Facebook and he finally called him back. He kept saying part was first coming from Columbus and then several days later he said the part was coming from Cleveland. He said the estimate was a ball park figure. Taking advantage of folks is what he's doing. You might want to reconsider taking your call there or get an estimate in writing. read more

The owners a jerk. He pulled out in front of me in his pickup truck. I know it was him for two reasons. He pulled out of his parking lot when he pulled out in front of me and his truck is covered in one huge tacky advertisement for his business. Anyway. He pulled out in front of me just as I was going through the light between Speedway and marathon and when I beeped at him for doing it he stopped to try and block me in the middle of the intersection. He the proceeded to drive 10mph under the speed limit as he flipped me off before turning onto a street off of coles Blvd. I'm assuming he lives there. Point being: He's a huge jerk who put me in a dangerous situation out of unwarranted malice. Advice to the owner: If you drive like a reckless jerk, you probably shouldn't wrap your entire vehicle in a advertisement for your business. At least now people know who you are when your on the road and can hold you accountable. read more
