Enter the Airport bus - the Manly Airport Bus to be precise. Typical laconic friendly beaches service, that actually turns up on time. Ring and arrange what you need; you might get a dedicated service or you might share with other travellers, but either way once the doors close the trip has begun. Wave goodbye to your guests and head back to the beach. In fact, it's worked so well for guests, we'll use it to get there ourselves next time. Services the beaches from Palm Beach down to Mosman and inland to French's Forest. Also perfect for groups.

Except for my last trip on 25 October to the International when the driver was someone called SAM and he was awful, grumpy, unhelpful, complaining etc. etc. Complained about putting my luggage on for me and as a 70 y.o. lady I do need help. So, I know this is not the face of your wonderful company. but at least please speak to him. If his past was the Public Service, please tell him there is no such thing as a Position Description and he is there to be friendly and helpful. I arranged everything online and quickly got a personal note back from the owner (who turned out to be our driver) to confirm the pickup details. Nigel showed up at our arranged spot at our arranged time and proved to be more tour guide than shuttle service. After he packed our group and loads of luggage into his roomy van, he headed for the airport. pointing out interesting sites and landmarks along the way.When we mentioned that we had hours to kill at the airport before our international flight, he suggested taking a leisurely route through Sydney's interesting neighborhoods, and along the coast to well-known beaches and hidden coves. By the time we arrived at the airport, Nigel had given us a not-in-the-guidebooks (complimentary) sightseeing tour that convinced me I must visit Australia again. Living in North Bondi, my frugal heart skipped a beat when I learned that I could get to the airport by van for $20 (YES, TWENTY DOLLARS). Just to make things crystal clear, the bus+train route costs the same amount of money, but takes 1.5 hours. A taxi takes the same amount of time, but costs $65+. And this? Just call the mobile number, give them your address, and be outside 5 minutes before your scheduled pick up. Pay $20. Life = changed. A few things to note: they only leave once an hour. Cash only. They are always 5 minutes early. Sometimes there are a few pick-ups. The more people you have, the more money you save. All Eastern suburbs are serviced - some do cost a bit more. I stated that we were quoted $110 and he argued the extra charges of child seats and early pick up time. I was unhappy with the unexpected additional charges, we came to an agreement of $130. He wrote the manual Credit card receipt for $134.00. To which I reluctantly signed. 2 weeks later I had a charge to my credit card of $148.74 from GM Cabs Mascot. I have requested Direct Airport Shuttle for a receipt for this transaction as there is a discrepancy in the receipt I signed and the actual charge. They then gave me the run around stating they have already sent it and they will send it again, yet not willing to clarify the spelling of the email address. After several days of contacting them, getting excuses they are now no longer answering my calls. I have notified my bank of the credit card discrepancy. I have also filed a complaint with the ACCC. Please avoid this company.
