Very unethical company! I inherited their business alarm system when bought my business. Every time I needed to change an employee code, they charged me at least 1/4 hour @ $100, but if they took a little longer, they charged me whatever they wanted (up to $100 to spend a few minutes to update 3-4 codes). I was ready to dump them, when they got one of my employees to authorize them to come onsite due to a communication problem. We are an hour away, so they charged $100 to drive here, $100 per hour for troubleshooting, and then $100 to drive back. The tech was onsite less than an hour. They billed me for 5 hours and I received a $530 invoice!!!! When I complained, they were all obnoxious like I was at their mercy whether they would discuss with the owner if they would bestow upon me any reduction to their overcharges. In the end they just told me to go pound sand. I demanded documentation of technician hours and they were not sure if they had anything or whether the owner would allow them to release it. Wow, I thought when you bill by the hour you have to justify and document your time, especially at $100 per hour! As of this posting date they still have not provided any justification for their billing. And they also informed me that they bill in increments of 1 hour, so if they spend 1 hour and 5 minutes at your site, it will be $200!! How many times do you think the techs drag out an extra 5-10 minutes close to an end of an hour to bill another $100?? All...the...time. Stay away!!! And if you are with them, find someone else or pray that you never have a service problem, or you will probably be billed $200-$500 for them to come out to fix it, whether it is your fault or not! Absolutely terrible company to deal with!!!! Warning to everyone stay away!!!!! Wanted to charge me 100$ an hour for a service call because our Internet stopped working, i live an hour away so 200$ just for them to look at the issue, I'm sorry but if you are willing to supply a product in the area you can also service the area without charging 100$ an hour just to drive to my location. Last Fall We had a new roof installed and after the satellite was moved the internet stopped working, I called the company and was told that that wasn't the issue and that the satellite just needed to be point at the direction of the main satellite. Also I was told that if the issue was just our Internet router that I would be charged the full price for the service call, so I went out and bought $150 router which of course didn't fix the problem. At this point I just wanted to be rid of there service at which point I was told our 2 year contract was not up until June 2015 and would be charged a 500 early termination fee. So I went ahead and had them send a service tech out and agreed if the problem was on my end I would pay even though I was sure the satellite had been moved which the service person would not get on the roof to check. They were able to get the service working which only lasted about a month or two and was hit and miss at that. at this point we are pretty much done and we're just waiting till June 2015 to be rid of the service. Once June 2015 came I called to cancel the service and was informed that my contract was up in January 2015 so we basically paid him for months without any Internet service. I was also informed that we had missed a May payment which we had no recollection of and Collins communications proceeded to tell us that they have left multiple phone messages and sent multiple bills to our PO Box, which they did neither. I was also informed that there would be a $25 reconnection fee due to our Internet being shut off at the beginning of June from the missed payment which we were unaware of because the service did not work.
