We have a home warranty with AHS, and Bye Door Installs was the selected service provider. The technician came out on Friday and instead of focusing on the problem, he criticized the builders, saying things like, "These builders just throw these houses together and they don't put the doors on correctly" and "You see where this light is coming in, they didn't do that right." He mentioned something about the tensions, ordering parts, and said he would return on Monday or Tuesday to fix it. Imagine my shock when we received an estimate from them through AHS of $8,723, claiming the door looked like it had been hit by a car, wasn't installed correctly, and needed to be replaced. I was flabbergasted. I called the company and spoke to someone who said they didn't understand how it could be that much and promised a technician would call me back. Of course, no one did. I tried calling several times yesterday and this morning, but no one answered. I called AHS and requested a second opinion, but they needed to find a new service provider, which would take another 48 hours. We found a local company yesterday that came out this morning. They tightened the spring, added a new coil, and completed the job in 20 minutes for $199. The only explanation for this discrepancy in price is that Bye Door Installs was trying to scam AHS and us as consumers. I'm sure they thought we would fall for anything because my car was trapped in the garage. I urge you not to use this company. If you are in the Auburn/Opelika area, I highly recommend Up Down Garage Door. Excellent service with integrity.

Coming out to measure and look was quick and great customer service then when it came time to check the in stall the guy kept not responding to emails, Was able to call and get everything scheduled. Then install went smooth. It was going up and down so much smoother and quieter than the 20 year old door. Door was installed 4/25/25 them on 5/30/25 it started making a popping sound and seems it is not going up and down the tracks good, I knew it was the weekend but thought if I could leave a vm or send email they could address early Monday morning. VM was full. The website no longer exists as if they didn't renew the URL. No appointments were available Tuesday until I started addressing that nothing could be communicated over weekend then mysteriously one becomes available. Will update after they come back out. A new garage door having problems after a month is huge problem with how expensive they are now. They came back out claimed it was the paint heating up causing the popping. That is absolutely no true since it happens in below freezing temps to almost 100 degrees. My 20 year old garage door never popped like this. The popping has become louder as time has passed because it is not right and was never made right. Pretty sure they just said let me take advantage of a female . Would never use them again.

However, it stopped working shortly after installation. I contacted Mr. Gipson again, and he had the gate opener replaced with another one without a cover. The original gate opener had a cover. It was not until 2 weeks ago when I had to try several times to open the gate with my remote that I began having problems. However it eventually opened, and I had no further problems with the gate opening until 2 weeks later when again I could not open the gate for approximately 45 minutes. I then left the gate open in order to get my car in and out. When I called Mr. Gipson on Tuesday, June 16th, he stated he would send his son out to check it. Later that day after I did not hear from his son nor Mr. Gipson, I again called Mr. Gipson to ask if his son had come out. Mr. Gipson stated his son had come out and determined I needed another motor, and he stated his son had gone to Walmart to get one. I never saw or heard from his son. The next day I called Mr. Gipson with no response. However, I left him a message that I had not seen or heard from his son. On Friday, the 19th, I called Mr. Gipson again with no response. Each time I called, I left my name and phone number for Mr. Gipson to return my call with no response. I never saw or heard from the son or Mr. Gipson after that last phone call on June 19th, and my motor has not been changed. Each time I tried contacting Mr. Gipson, I got his voicemail and left him a message advising I had not seen his son, and my gate was still not working. I would not recommend this company to anyone!

My husband met with him and told him we needed it to be started the day we closed on our house. He was 2 weeks late starting. A 50% deposit was given atleast 2 weeks prior to us closing on our house. He seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. On top of our text messages and phone calls. It took him about 3 weeks to do a roughly 2 to 3 day job. Charles also charged us an additional fee because he didnt order enough material. It turned out great until the boards started popping off. He came out once to fix our gate because it broke the first time we tried to open it. Since then, we have made several texts messages and phone calls asking him to come fix the popped off boards. He kept saying he would be here and to this day has not shown up. My husband even called him and Charles said he would be by at 9am Sunday and guess what...he never showed up today. No phone no text message. So here we are with a fence with popped off boards. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM WHAT SO EVER!
