Colonial gets four stars because the machine from which to purchase detergent and such was broken, so I had to walk to the CVS nearby to get those products.

The laundromat is FILTHY. Constantly. There are never any employees there. Every time I need to do laundry, at LEAST one dryer doesn't work properly, if at all. Of course, you put one quarter in to start, see if the dryer works, blah blah blah, but these dryers will quit working once you put additional money into them. As I am folding my own laundry, I have also advised other people to not waste their time and money with certain dryers because they are not functional. If you want to waste your time further, you can write up a complaint form saying you lost your money and what machine was not functional, etc. They'll send you a refund, but 6 months after the loss and after constant reminders. The refund is cash in an envelope...even quarters. Duh. 3 guesses and the first two don't count as to what part of the refund gets lost and falls out of the envelope. Oh, you will also get a handwritten tutorial on how to use a dryer. That's just awesome customer service right there. I would rather drive further and go to Colonial Laundromat. They at least take care of their equipment, and there is someone there that can help you if you need it.

This is, by far, the best laundromat we have ever been to. Clean, plenty of room to park our RV, tons of washers and dryers. You can also pay using your credit card or phone, thus saving your quarters. I highly recommend this laundromat to those who live locally and for those who are traveling through.

Classic City is more convenient than the competition, especially when you have to take the bus or walk (a $5 van may have been suggested at one point). Located in the former Swanson Dry Cleaners (yes, I'm that old, mind), yet that service is still available here today and done through a third-party, along with alterations. Staff member always on site (even at nights). However, unlike most other laundrettes, Classic City is still cash only, yet there's an ATM at the ready, and you can even get a bottle of laundry detergent, fabric softener or bleach for a few dollars to save a trip since the vending machine ones only go so far. Also, a number of washing machines and dryers have been out of order for a period, yet it depends on the time of day or week as to how busy it could be. A mainstay local business right in the heart of Eastwood. When I can, I'll bring in some larger loads in building site bin bags, knowing there's a place close to home that's value for money for my washing needs.

I like that this location is staffed during daytime hours (they have laundry services as well as self-serve machines) because when my search started I first stumbled across a review or two of other laundromats in the city where people had reported clothes thefts, and I got spooked. The staff seemed nice (one attendant held the door for me when I entered with my basket, which I was grateful for.) I went early in the morning on a Friday, and there were lots of free machines. I felt secure leaving my load and running around to do errands while my cycles ran. Of course, I'm hoping our building's machine gets fixed soon as that would be the most ideal, but this laundromat is not a bad alternative.

I came around 7am on a Sunday, and there were a handful of others already doing their loads. I imagine during peak hours it gets very crowded. Good location right off Erie Blvd, and you could probably run errands in between cycles. Parking lot is a little narrow but plenty of spots. There were some benches outside which was a nice touch, especially on a day with gorgeous weather! I do have to say that seating seemed pretty limited inside, so that would be a downside if you planned to hang out long. There are a ton of washers and dryers. Loved that the washers took cards, as I was running low on quarters and cash. Dryers do still require quarters, however. Machines are big. There are some vending machines, and crane/arcade machines, and I even spotted a community book shelf, so it looks like they care about making folks comfortable. I did feel like for the size of the laundromat and the number of machines, there was limited folding table space and they could probably use more metal carts. However, if you need somewhere to wash your clothes, this is a really solid option. I hope that someday soon I'll have the option to do laundry in my own building again, but until that happens I'll add this place to my rotation.

If you want your suit in a reasonable amount of time and want it to look perfect on you; he's the man. The amount of customers he has is reflective of this fine craftsmanship. An example of this is that I recently lost a significant amount of weight (over 50 lbs) and also changed my body type (added muscle through Crossfit). My suits were a train-wreck. I brought 4 of my old, I'll-fitting suits to John. 4 weeks later, I picked them up and was AMAZED at how great they looked. I needed major work in the pants, and my coats all needed the chest area brought in; basically an athletic cut that the suits were NOT originally made with. My suits look custom-made for me.

old world tailoring in a modern age, that's for sure…read more i bought a suit online and needed pants and a jacket adjusted. prior to my visit, i knew nothing about where to go for men's tailoring. a google search provided a few names in the area, but as far as where to go from there, i was basically at a loss. (the search kind of brought me back to the early days of yelp, when you'd search for certain restaurants around syracuse and were unable find any info... about anything... things have certainly changed since 2008). anyway, i decided on john berardi. i knew very little about his shop, aside from finding a random video on youtube, so my decision was somewhat on a whim. all and all, i figured getting an italian suit looked at by an older italian man who's been in business on the city's northside for several decades was a fairly safe bet. it's a bit like stepping back in time when you enter the small shop; old sewing machines, cast-iron clothing racks, etc... so i wasn't sure what to expect at first, but john was great. super friendly, heavy italian accent and personality, and he knew what he was talking about (he recommended getting the cuffs removed on my non-pleated pants as well). i told him i needed my suit done in about 2 weeks. adjustments were done within 1 week. price was about average ($45 for jacket and pant alterations). stitching looks aok too. as the world becomes more and more introverted and we inundate ourselves with cell phones and technology, it's extremely refreshing to see a friendly, low-key, long-running, and small business that's essentially non-existant online still going strong. most of the racks lining the walls were filled with suits, and a seamstress (i'm assuming his wife) was busy stitching and sewing the whole time i was in there, so they're fairly busy; which is a good thing. these types of places (as well as italian barbers, italian bakeries, german meat markets, german breweries, etc...) were once a mainstay during the golden age of syracuse and only vanish as the years go on. enjoy them while they're still here. (not sure of their hours, so it's best to call. i think he closes around 5 or 6pm on weekdays. they lock the front door for safety during the day, so just knock if he doesn't see you. and if i recall correctly, it's cash only).
