As a mall walker, I couldn't help but notice all the cars in the Colonial Park Mall parking lot today. The moms and some dads are out today supporting the Just Between Friends Children's Resale Pop-Up event at Colonial Park Mall. The preloved event is located near the Colonial Park Mall Food Court. The pop-up shop is this weekend, Sept. 11-13, and next weekend, Sept. 18-20. Walking by, the event looks organized, with one door for entry and another for exit. I see numerous clothing racks, toys, and strollers. With children growing so fast, preloved, sustainable shopping is the way to go to keep up with their ever-changing sizes and interests. Customers can also consign by bringing in gently used, outgrown children's clothing, cribs, footwear, and toys during the pop-up weekends. Resale and consignment shops are currently thriving in the current economy. It's great to see Colonial Park Mall being used, even if only for this event, for unbeatable children's discounts. read more

A tomb for local nostalgia, plagued by ghosts of its dead social relevance, the Colonial Park Mall is a hollow shell. It is an empty, echoing chamber of dusty vaults that once held great names and popular brands that drew hundreds of shoppers per day. This once proud social hub would be horrifyingly quiet if not for the pop music piped into the empty spaces, the upbeat sounds distorting as they echo off the tile and concrete surfaces, blending the sing-song melody of a angelic spirit into a lost soul fighting its final descent into madness. Yes, the Colonial Park Mall is dead, but remains haunted, one might say possessed by a small community of vendors peddling curious wares and sinister services. And also cell phone stores. You would be forgiven to think the random, lone stranger walking by is the spirit of a former shopper who once used the mall for their daily walk and expired near the old Radio Shack and now doomed to tour its remains for all eternity. The mall is policed by cemetery watchmen, glassy-eyed custodians ready to expel loiterers and those without a shopping agenda. They wander through the ruins left behind by pretzel makers and shoe stores and clothiers and other shoe stores and Hickory Farms and even more shoe stores. And they converge every hour at an empty center court where children once gathered as a wise and cheerful Santa Claus would grant audiences and wishes from 10 to 11 and again from 1 to 3 on Saturdays during the holidays. Gone are the mallrats, their socializing now digital. Gone are the great savings events and sports memorabilia shows and special musical guests. Gone are the anchor stores like Sears and Bon Ton. Only Boscov's survives to give this empty space meaning. The mall itself is a parasite grafted to its flank. Come and peer into the past as thoughts of the post-apoclaypse rise from the vibe. To stand inside this dying space is to know the meaning of loneliness. To step beyond the threshold of the jubilant Shoe Carnival is to be stripped of all joy and hope. read more

Of all the malls I've been to, Colonial Park Mall is, without a doubt, a dead mall. It's one floor, with one main hallway and five other halls (six). Many empty spaces are scattered throughout, some of which are still open. The only anchor still running is Boscov's. I can't imagine what some of these spaces will turn into someday. The interior was kept up nicely, especially the cool water fountain outside Boscov's. The mall has a nice 70s--80s feel, making it memorable and fun. Even though it's dead, there are some attractions inside that draw attention. Mall walkers who want to kill time should consider stopping. Overall, I enjoyed walking in the mall; while it is dead, Colonial Park may be in its last days. read more

Colonial Park Mall is one of the three larger malls in the Harrisburg Metro area, and like Harrisburg Mall, is eventually headed towards redevelopment. Under the ownership of the Kohan Retail Investment Group this mall has done nothing but slide backwards, losing many interior stores, along with anchors Bon-Ton and Sears, which remain vacant. Boscov's is the only remaining anchor store. The interior design of Colonial Park Mall is interesting, as most of it is built on a downhill slope, so there are ramps and steps everywhere. Since my last visit, I am surprised at the better than expect occupancy levels, as it seems more local stores were added. Sadly, this doesn't move the mall out of the dead category. The food court still has three occupied stalls, which was impressive. A budget movie theater remains open. Mall interior is clean and the fountain in front of the Boscov's remains functional. Sadly, Colonial Park is just another dying mall at this point, with the end being a matter of time. read more

HORRIBLE....USELESS!!! Decided to switch providers due to Verizon not accepting my employee discount. Well i should have stayed because what I encountered with T-Mobile ended up costing me an ADDITIONAL $500 due the store rep Shalin blatantly lying to my face. Advised me to pay off a line, for which i would then be provided with a rebate for that amout which i would then use to pay off the item with verizon. Despite learning the store rep was not in a position to make such promise, 8 hours later and still no result. It sickening what these companies can get away with!!!!! read more

Always enjoy this mall its small but love the stores. Especially the theater, boscovs, and Pizza zone. Unfortunately our visit today I was a little disappointed with the bathroom 3 out of 4 sinks had no soap. Looking for someone to notify. read more

Let's put it this way: I used to have a love / hate relationship with this mall. I spent a few years here growing up as a teenager. So maybe I'm biased? It has a victoria secrets, verizon store, best buy mobile, bed bath & bodyworks, a sears optical, auntie anne's, AE, hollister, ticket master outlet in Boscov's courtesy desk, etc. With that being said, it has seen better days As far as department stores go, they have a few options: Bonton, Boscov's, Sears & several smaller specialty stores. Tumble Town has a location here, and in years past there was a decent arcade. Recent additions in the past two or three years include A Buffalo Wild Wings & A Long Horn Steakhouse to go along with the Red Lobster. Holy Spirit recently opened a Health Loop (something the Capital City Mall has always had). it's .59 miles for agressive, long distance walkers, or .35 for the quick & easy people. The Colonial Park 4, Inc movie theatre has been here for a long time, Ive taken my own children as well as my nephew here to see such hits as Captain Philips & Walking With Dinosaurs. Huge amount of parking, I love parking on the Boscov's roof & then taking the elevator down. read more

Mall is ok but is missing some store fronts. Bon-Ton closed so anchor stores are now Sears and Boscov's. I love Boscov's so I shop here often. I also come here for Gertrude Hawk, Bath & Body Works and the Dollar Store since the mall is less than a mile from my home. They also have a little theater here that shows movies that are a little older but still recent. There is a food court here, with Buffalo Wild Wings included, but I've never tried the food so I can't report on that. We tried the escape room, which was our first time and we thought it was fun. The mall usually meets my needs without have to go very far from home and it's not very crowded. read more

Uggh. Central PA malls. One day they will update. Capital city is still better. This mall has better selections than harrisburg mall (minus bass pro shop and 2nd and Charles which are the ONLY stores worth a visit there) They have many of the stores I frequent however the mall feels like a hilly labyrinth. Really wierd. It's bigger than I thought. It serves it's purpose. I would have given it 3 stars like capital city, but the food court is subpar. All it has is a buffalo wild wing entrance, a chinese place, a Japanese place where they competitively shout "FREE SAMPLE! COME TRY!" , and a Sabarros. Pretty lame if you ask me. Luckily, the area has many other options for food. read more

I've always loved this mall. It's clean and spacious with tons of regular and department store options. They have interesting kiosks (including a nice Things Remembered) and I really like the quaint little movie theater. I used to spend hours here as a kid and was happy the entire time (a lot of which was spent in the AWESOME arcade :-). This is definitely my choice for a mall if I'm ever back in the 'burg with a hankerin' for retail bustle! read more

I have been coming here since I was a teenager, a lot has changed in some ways good and others bad. I think the mainstays like the theater are good and wish the food court was like it was ten years ago, but they do have a Buffalo Wild Wings now which is a plus. read more

So I always enjoyed going to this mall but over the weekend my friend her daughter and myself met up for a little reunion since covid; we enjoyed walking around the different stores and trying on clothing. We loved the pet store and looking at the animals even though they didn't have dogs nor cats there. The ladies working Saturday feb 18 at rue 21 were absolutely amazing! They helped us with any questions and were very kind. Even talked to my friends daughter. We also enjoyed the many small stores for clothing. Although we still enjoyed our time there. We had a bit of a situation with one of the janitors. He not only had a fowl odor of body odor; but he was also very rude and seemed to be walking around every store we had visited. He made direct eye contact with me and gave me some very disrespectful looks. I will come back to the mall only for rue 21 as long as those ladies are working but very unhappy with the janitors who were working that day. read more

This mall has gone so down hill and it's unfortunate. There are a few store worth visiting, maybe. There's many random things going on in there too as far as stands and pop up stores. Not sure how this mall is still open, we'll see how long it lasts. read more

Not a bad mall, still clean and worth walking or shopping. With so many malls closing down I'm glad this one is still in business.

Came to this mall to the Sears store and others since I was a teenager in the late 60s. I remember buying a stereo system in a store here. Now I go just for the Boscov's. There is a dollar store here and a few other spots, but no mall in PA equals the malls we have in NJ. read more

This mall used to be my favorite mall in the area. However, it is going downhill. I can't even shop here any longer.

This mall needs to just close down. It's so RUNDOWN and depressing! The CVS looks as if it's from the 80s as well as the Bon-Ton. The movie theater features films that just went out of major theaters for a discounted price. The stores within the mall are mostly fly by night business that sell junk and trashy clothing. read more

I'm happy for the fact that this is home to a quaint little theatre that plays great movies a long time after the mainstream theaters turn the lights off on them. Grateful that going to the movies here is a price I remember when I was a kid. Thank you CPM. read more

I am from CT and I stayed in a hotel nearby. Decided to visit this mall & I loved it. It was small and quiet but it had good stores and good prizes. I wish this mall was close to were I live. :) read more

Boscovs in this location wasn't a comfortable experience. The older workers there weren't very friendly, almost kind of smug. The younger ladies there were great and I enjoyed their hospitality. read more

This mall needs to be more careful about who they allow to run promotions inside the mall. A few weeks ago when I was going to Bon Ton, there was a beautiful white SUV in the mall; a contest was being held for a drawing to win. I filled out a form and dropped it in the box. Now I'm getting phone calls from Great Vacations (sponsor of the contest) saying that I won an "almost free" trip! What a scam. read more

Decent mall and with a pretty good environment. This is my second favorite mall in the area right behind Capitol City. It's got a great selection of shops and stores. Though the food court is a little small for my taste in mall. Other than that I've had a great shopping experience with this mall. read more
