How happy am I ? Well for one thing, 14 mile round trips to get my favorite stinger pie is a thing of the past. Having only ever been to the Stamford location previously, I was stunned when I walked into the restaurant a few days ago! So bright and roomy. It's Huge! Beautifully laid out and with a full bar service, this place will do extremely well. Now the pie... Loved it loved it!! It made me sweat as a stinger should.. Brought waves of nostalgia and pain to my mouth in equal measure, yeah, I'm a masochist! Deal with it :) Crust as thin and crispy as I remember. Seriously good pizza and really nice staff too. Colony Grill Norwalk: Good pizza and a well run bar. In the hour we were there, I must've seen 50 pizza's going "take-out" Mostly families No food other than good pizza, (although the "Salad pie" is a unique taste.) no desert. The crowd and even the people that work there, always seem to be in a good mood. Ironically- I would say the best time to go there is when it's busy. It's well worth the wait. Great music-just loud enough to hear over the crowd. I walked out of there singing along with the Allman brothers "Melissa". Awesome Christmas ornaments. I love Colony! Their charm is their simplicity- pizza and beer, and honestly, what more could you really need? I am a big fan of their salad pizza with meatball on top. I also dig that this spot is a two minute walk from my apartment, so you really can't beat the convenience factor. Service is also on point, particularly from Al the bartender who kindly let me take all of his jukebox music credits last time I was there and play Bohemian Rhapsody for the whole restaurant. Had my oldest sons Birthday celebration Friday night at you restaurant. Had about 25 guest rate and drank with not a single incident. We even a had people help waitress with collecting bus tables. Just before ten the whole party is told we have to leave "No More Service". I ask WHY ??? Said you all have to go else where. I even asked for a simple water and got refused as well. just were told you have to go somewhere else. We had not a single incident. Ever since they opened I have been enjoying thier pizzas. I used to go to Stamford but glad they are in Norwalk. I love the location. Parking is free and convenient. So sorry that we are going through this epidemic and have all restaurants close. I hope it doesn't effect them from opening up again. Out side dinning is a plus not to mention take out. My boyfriend works down the street from here and was RAVING about the pizza so we came together. I was a little bummed to see the gluten free crust was almost an additional $5 but when it came out it was the same size as the regular pizza so I was cool with it. Each topping is $1.50 so the pizza price can add up quickly. I got peppers and hot oil and the oil was spicy, which I wasn't expecting. I thought it was just temperature wise hot- so don't make the same mistake especially if you don't like spice. The gluten free crust was the best in the tri state area, maybe even the entire world. CT pizza is simply the best. Pepes, Sally's, & Modern are the holy trinity of pizza places but Colony has a thin pub pie that is as good as anything else. The salad pie and hot oil pie are my faves. read more

Listen, Colony Grill provides amazing service. The pizzas are good- but, not spectacular, especially among those of us who revel in traditional thin crust pies. The sauce, sparingly applied, is fine, albeit a bit bland. The crust, which arrives with a decent crispness to it, lacks what one would find at places like Bar (New Haven) or Pizzeria Regina (Boston's North End). But, just because Colony Grill does not ascend to new heights of pizza greatness, the attentive staff and tasty product make it worthy of repeat visits. read more

This review is based off my visit last night. First off, i'd like to mentioned how busy it was here. Blasting music, people everywhere talking.... I figured the wait would be really long like 49 mins, but surprisingly it was only about 10 minutes! I was very happy about that. The hostess was very nice and friendly too. Second off, the waiter we had was great. His name was Nick. He was friendly, and always had a smile on his face. He was very attentive and making sure everything was great and amazing. A+++ for him. If he was in Vegas where I lived I would scoop him up and hire him in a minute. Third off, the food was GREAT. Amazing. So good. The pizza in Vegas is nothing compared to pizza here. I got pepperoni, onions, and cherry peppers on mine. It was perfect. Greasy, cheesy goodness.... and of course the pizza is paired up with a blue moon. It was great. Hands down my favorite thin crust pizza of all time! Whenever I run into people who are just visiting my town and ask me for food recommendations, i always suggest Colony if pizza is on their mind. I love the atmosphere of this place, many locals have been coming here for years and its just a good vibe. The Colony in Norwalk has a much better decor and outside seating but if your just picking up from Stamford it's convenient because it's closer. If you're going to sit down and eat I do recommend checking out the colony in Norwalk which is in the SoNo area! read more

Solid spot. I think this has become my favorite dine-in pizza experience. Colony does what Pepe's used to best, executes a perfect thin crust pizza. It's think, perfectly flat and even, baked to be solid and strong, lightly cheesed, fresh sauce, and a perfect delivery vehicle for great toppings. One size only, each pie is light and highly edible, one pie per person is probably a perfect fit in most cases, adding a few toppings give it a nice weight if you're extra hungry. Colony is renowned for their "hot oil" spicy treatment. Not my cup of tea, but greatly loved by many. Slices get get a bit greasy and drippy, especially with certain toppings, but it's not much of a detraction. Menu is limited, pizza one size, about a dozen toppings, and "pizza salad" is the only other menu item. This is a cooked pizza crust, cheese optional, with fresh garden salad spread across it. No frills, no thrills, but an appetizer if needed, or a proper alternate for a full pie. This is bar pizza and bar service is readily available. The walls are decorated with sports programming TV's and tributes to local military participants (key theme for Colony). Lighting is low, tables are intimate, outdoor seating is night in the courtyard, background music is nice (but intrusive on some nights). Service is simple a pizza pan (no plates, no utensils), a box of napkins, slow refills and the friendly service seems to tail off when your pizza is done....but bring some friend and enjoy the night. I grew up eating colony pizza in Stamford and was so excited when a colony opened up next to me in Norwalk. I ordered the salad pizza and to my shock and horror I was basically served a piece of matzah bread with lettuce on top. No cheese, no flavor. Just a cold hard cracker sprinkled with lettuce. The family started the business some years ago and there is an original location in Stamford. The pizza is thin crust and comes out nice and hot. The topping choices are on the wall. Really really lovee their pizzas. Came here per a recommendation from a friend and we did two pizzas for takeout. One pepperoni and one cheese with hot oil. Hot oil, what is that? Don't knock it til you try it!! It gives the pizza a slight jalapeño like kick to it, but it's not really all that spicy - you just get some undertones of spiciness. Perfect for someone like me who enjoys spicy foods but can't really take anything more spicy than hot Cheetos (if even that). The pizzas are super thin crust and are the size of a personal pizza but slightly larger. Everything about it screams deliciousness - it's the perfect amount of cheese vs sauce vs dough. The front of the pizza is chewy and the crust part is crunchy. Have already come here twice in the last two weeks! If you're around, give this place a look. Super efficient as well, we placed a phone order on our way there and they were ready within 15min. Easy in and out of the store when you do takeout and there also weren't that many people in the store waiting so you can definitely maintain the 6 feet apart distance at all times. The first time I went to Colony, I honestly wasn't impressed by the cheese and pepperoni pizza we had. It wasn't until I took the plunge and tried the hot oil pizza that I was truly impressed. If you love pizza and enjoy spicy food, it's something completely different that you can't get elsewhere. My husband and I love this place. It's the best location since the original one in Stamford. We always sit at the bar and get 2 pizzas and a few beers. The bacon and onion well done is amazing and sausage and cherry peppers or stingers is delicious too. Around St Patrick's Day, DO NOT MISS the specialty pizza they have with corned beef!! Everyone from the greeter to the waiters, and waitresses are consummate professionals. The thin crust PIZZA gets an A+++++. I have never been disappointed at Colony Pizza and the place is always busy. Ask for your pizza with extra sauce. Came out here for a work trip and heard that Colony was a must try in the area. I can see why locals love this place, relaxed vibe, good beer, good pizza and above average service. We walked in and were seated quickly. Our server was great and handled the situation with the young child in our group seamlessly. We ordered about 5 pies for 6.5 hungry people. The pizza was delicious but a bit on the greasy side, but it was likely due to the cheese they use. The toppings were of good quality and distributed evenly. Watch out for the stinger peppers, they really were spicy! The meatballs were delicious and the pepperoni was on point. Overall a great place to grab a pie, beer and watch the game. read more

Colony Grill never fails to satisfy me. I've been to three of their locations and have always had a great dining experience at each one. If you enjoy eating anything remotely spicy, I would recommend topping off your pizza with some hot oil, you'll thank me later! I usually have no problem getting seated around lunchtime but there's always a crazy wait (when I say crazy, I really mean 30-40 minutes of straight up agony watching/smelling other peoples hot oil pizza being delivered to their table) for dinner especially on the weekends. It came with a small amount of thin slivers of peppers. The pizza was very greasy and very bland. It had to be the worst pizza I've ever had out in a restaurant. I had to put red pepper flakes on it just to give it some flavor. Someone said you'd be better off staying home with a DiGiorno pizza and they were right.
