We had a 25 year old wrought iron patio table with 6 chairs and a glider swing that Colorado Powder Coater refurbished. From the initial estimate to the final product everything was easy and perfect. The set looks like brand new! They even fixed a weld that had broken over the years. The color Greg recommended (oiled bronze) was perfect and we plan on enjoying our "new" set for many more years. I've used Colorado Powder coating in the past to good result. Greg bought this business from Mark, who consistently ran it well. I recently asked for a ballpark quote for painting a outdoor dining set, and was given the run around by Greg, who was unable to provide a quote, after my sending him pictures of the set, and several calls and text messages. Finally got a "we are very busy and I've had multiple carpel tunnel surgeries" explanation...but no quote. Unprofessional, frustrating, and I can only imagine how badly the work would have been done. On top of that, I got an insulting "I'm sorry we aren't able to meet your expectations" text message from this jerk. read more

Friendly staff but.. Job not done at agreed time. Unsatisfactory coverage (bare metal on certain areas). Proprietor CHARGED me for sandblasting and re-coating of botched part! New to the area, so this shop was recommended by a couple people I know in said area. The quote I received was a litte higher then the other places I contacted but since it was recommended I figured, like my tattoos, I don't mind paying for quality work. I bring in my 1990 CR250 frame and subframe and speak to, who I assume is the owner/manager, since he is the only one with clean clothes on and clean hands. I show him an area of concern on the bottom of the frame, that we talked about on the phone, which was a couple very small rust spots and asked if this is something I should take to a welder before I have it powder coated. He says you should certainly fix it because if not you will have a bunch of tiny beads rolling around in there but don't worry because he can have his welder take care of it since its so insignificant. So I go ahead and agree to have the work performed in his shop, he tells me it will take about 2 weeks, which is fine with me because I am heading out of town for 6 days anyways. I leave and get a call the very next day that the frame is done. I go WOW that was fast, everything came out alright? He says for sure! I get back from my trip all excited to pick up the frame and as i walk in he actually remembers me and asks how my trip was. I tell him good, and we walk into the office to look at the frame. I ask him how the weld job went and if there were any problems and he immediately flips the frame over and goes "oh shit I forgot"..... If there are two things in this world i hate, its carni folks and incompetence. The moral of the story is this bonehead remembers my trip out of town but cant remember to do his own job that we talked about TWICE!! Once on the phone and once when i brought the frame for him to look at in person. He then does not offer to remedy the situation nor take any money off the price. So now i have a worthless frame with beads rolling around on the inside, i need to pay someone EXTRA money to take it back down to metal and weld it like he should have done the first time and then pay someone AGAIN to powder coat the frame. I hope this helps other people with making their decision to get something powder coated. With the abundance of shops out here in the Denver area use ANYBODY but these incompetent guys. read more

Colorado Powdercoating did a set of truck rims and running boards for me. The finish looks good, and the price was right.

Had some parts done for a 1950's pop machine. Price was right at $150 but quality was sub par. At initial glance the person I worked with told me the imperfections I saw in them were in the metal. I took a closer look when I got home and realized that these imperfections were actually bubbles in the powder coat. I asked them to run the parts through the oven to prevent this and they said they would... doesn't look like they did. Another part had a rust spot that they said they would blast off, it shows through the powder coat so I guess they didn't do this either. I would have rather paid more and not had to deal with this, I suggest going somewhere else where they fix this stuff before the customer sees it. read more
