Decided to try Colton's and it did not disappoint. It wasn't crowded but very clean and I was seated promptly. Service was outstanding. I ordered an old fashioned and wasn't expecting much but it was surprisingly good. Rolls with butter and honey came out with my drinks and I ordered an appetizer of onion tanglers, which was great. I had the blackened salmon and it was fantastic - perfectly cooked and the sauce was amazing! I had the veggies, which were very bland but everything else made up for it. We waited about 15-20 minutes for a table. When we walked into the dining area the ground was filthy: food, crayons, just not kept up. The buser cleaning tables was not gentle putting the plates in the tub, very loud. He dropped a roll and didn't pick it up. Many staff walked by the roll and didn't pick it up. Finally a man walking to his table kicked it over so his party with a walker didn't trip on it. Be proud of your restaurant, keep it clean. read more

When I get hungry for a hamburger, I want a man's burger. It has to meet certain requirements in order for me to really give it an A+ rating and the Lonesome burger at Colton's meets all the requirements . In fact, it exceeds those requirements. It's probably called the Lonesome burger because it's lonely at the top and this burger is at the top in the burger world. In fact, this is the stuff that burger lore is made of. First off I want a burger that when I eat it and get done I am filled up. I don't want to buy two burgers. I just want one manly sized Burger. Secondly, I don't want the bun to disintegrate when I'm eating the hamburger so I'm left holding pieces of meat and condiments. Since the bread couldn't stand the load and fell apart in my hand. This hamburger bun meats those requirements and standards. Thirdly, I want quality beef and in this case. Colton's actually grinds up the leftovers when they cut their steaks and it ends up as their hamburger meat, so you're actually getting a steak burger in reality. Then I want one side and one side only that goes with hamburgers . In my opinion that is a generous large size of french fries. I also want endless supplies of ketchup for those fries and nothing else. The Coltons burger in Bardstown, Kentucky, in my humble opinion is one of the best burgers you can buy. I think the whole meal with iced tea came to $17 and that's not bad.. If you go to a lesser place, you'll end up eating two burgers and getting fries that are small and buying a drink so you spend the same amount of money. If you're hungry for a manly burger, one that a man would make and eat for himself at home this is the burger that you want to eat in my humble opinion. Now food is a subjective experience and this is my opinion only and your mileage may but if you wanna give it a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

Pleasant service. Food was hot. I loved the fried green beans appetizer. My friend loved the Southwest eggrolls. The crunchy onions under the haddock fish and the side of shrimp were tasty. The fried shrimp was nice in size and delicious. My loaded baked potato (without sour cream) tasted hot and fresh. All the food was hot! Yummy! My friend had the Hawaiian ribeye, which was cooked to perfection and very tasty. My friend also loved the sweet potato. The side salad is just OK with iceberg lettuce, and the dressing is a little runny, but it was overall tasty. Great location plenty of parking. Had a separate room nice for granddaughter finishing Cadet Training at Ft Knox. Our server Eric was terrific but it was as if he had to do everything including make the salads. The food choices were plenty. I had a turkey club sandwich and others mostly had sandwiches or salad. Stayed at the Hampton Inn right next to Colton's and I decided to give it a try on my last night. I placed a phone order and my food was ready within the time promised. Katie is the one that took my order and rang me out when I came to pick up. She was so sweet and friendly. My order had already been bagged and was waiting but when she came out of the kitchen she said the rolls they had packed looked kind of flat so she had got some fresh ones for me that were still hot when I got back to my room. The food was what you'd expect from a steakhouse. Some favorites from my order were the French fries, fried pickles with spicy ranch and the bread pudding! My husband and I decided to stop by for dinner while passing thru. I haven't been here in years. Since before COVID. My husband has never been. Started off strong. He liked his beer and the queso dip appetizer was a hit. I ordered the sirloin steak with smashed potatoes and rice pilaf. Sides were a hit. The steak was tasty but not tender at all. Too rubbery and chewy to eat. Ended up taking half of it home for my dogs. My husband ordered a Burger with fries and a salad. His burger meat was a bit rubbery as well. The rolls were just average. Always a go to for a good meal and drinks. Steaks are always cooked right and the burgers are good. Fries and sides are decent and you have to try the root beer. Service is either really good or very bad. Seems like a lot of turnover and you rarely see the same server twice. Just went to Colton's in Campbellsville Ky. my last time. Usually eat there once or twice a month. Last couple times I've gone, food quality has gotten worse and worse. Onion blossom came out so over fried it was a very dark brown with a quarter inch of oil in bottom of dish it was served in. Waited over 30 minutes after delivery of appetizer for chicken strips and fries to arrive. Had to ask waitress (when she finally came by) for extra napkins to soak up all the excess oil off the strips. They were fried dark brown also. Steak fries were no better being very oily also. Never got drink refilled (water). Ended up only eating part of meal as couldn't stand all the excess oil. Dinner rolls were only decent thing served. Took another 20 minutes to get bill. My food was brought out to my car for curbside pickup. They included utensils and napkins. The sweet potato was good, however it was terribly stringy. I so dislike stringy sweet potatoes. I don't know how the restaurant can make sure this isn't the case in future. Either way I ate around the strings best I could. I'd try this location again. read more
