I was sick (not to the point that I can not work, and work was busy so I don't want to take the day…read moreoff if I don't have to) a couple of days ago and ended up driving all around town to find a place that would do a quick Covid test and if it's negative then I could go back. There was another urgent care in town (I would not mention any names) would not even allow me to come into the lobby and the next appointment would not be until 4 hours later and I am not even supposed to wait in the parking lot to do a test, I must conduct an online appointment and then go from there. I tried to schedule something for retail and everything was next day, so flustered, I stumbled on Hastings Convenience Care on Google, and they opened a little later at 9, and when I called and ask about if they provide COVID test, they said yes, so I went for it. Soon as I entered the urgent care, there were 4-5 people waiting in line already, but the staff were very polite and right before my turn, the receptionist/nurse lead the previous patient to his room, came back and greeted me right away instead of going behind the desk and greet me behind the pixie glass. I felt welcome to the place. She explained that I was lucky she has one more room left because all of them got filled up in a matter of 13 minutes from them opening. She lead me to the room, listened attentively about my complaints, did the tests I needed, and send me on my way. I saw a provider too of course and she did a thorough exam. I was in and out of there in less than one hour. I have been telling people if they need to see an urgent care provider, they should definitely choose this one.

I fell in the morning during my rush to work and bang my shin really really hard and ended limping for the rest of the day with immense pain. I called at 10 am to try to book an appointment - with the phone prompt to book an appointment press two; I tried to explain to them that I only have a 30 minutes lunch break and I have to go back on time, only to be told that they are a walk in clinic, she couldn't book me an appointment, but if I go online to fill out the paperwork it might help. So I went online to find that there is, once again, appointment function so I booked an appointment. Filled out all paperwork, submitted my insurance card. Come lunch break, got there, explain to the lady again I am in pain but just need an X-ray to make sure I didn't break anything. She doesn't seem to care, just told me that we have 5 patient back there and maybe the nurses will be busy. I said could you tell them that I am in a hurry and I need to just get X-ray, she goes "I could ask". She sat there for another 10 minutes, and called me up to tell me that she needed more paperwork. Guess what - same F'ing paperwork I filled out online. So I filled it out and asked again, please have someone take me back there so that I could get an X-ray. She blinked and went well they are busy back there, they can't take you. At the same time another medical assistant just called up another patient. I questioned why you take others when I have all of my paperwork done and have the appointment way early and still could not get seen, she doesn't seem to care, just say that they are here before you. And at this point I have to go back to work, and they just wasted my entire lunch break. I told this girl just cancel the whole thing, and I have never seen a response so fast from them. This urgent care place DO NOT CARE about you and DO NOT WANT YOUR BUSINESS. I ended up going to an ER and if my leg ended get worse because of delay in treatment, they are going to hear from my lawyer. Just to close out my review with a summary : Convenience - 0 star, hard to locate, one of the doors were locked during business hours Staff - 0 star, sitting around giggling but do their jobs Service - 0 star, absolutely horrible communication skills, do not triage right and lie about things All in all, do not go to this place

When this occurred my thumb moved into the path of my freshly sharpened pocket knife and the tip of my thumb was sliced. I managed to find a band-aid to staunch the bleeding a bit. Wrapping a napkin aided in this. A few minutes went by and there appeared to be a bit more blood. After a failed attempt to redress the cut it was apparent that I needed medical attention. My first stop was at another, unnamed Urgent Care facility. The receptionist said that there were no doctors at the location as it was noon and they were all at lunch. I turned and walked out without a word. My second attempt brought me to Family Healthcare of Siouxland - Morningside Clinic on Sergeant Road. The receptionist here said that they were not "technically" urgent care until after 5, but that she would have a nurse look at the bloody mess of my thumb. She had a look and then called Dr. Andrawis in to have a look as well. They decided that my thumb needed some attention. I received excellent care, even though I was not a patient nor from the area. The nurse, whose name I forgot (Sherry maybe?) was stellar. A big shout out to the receptionist who made this all possible. Unfortunately I did not get her name, but her husband is a Dolphins fan. A big thanks to all there that helped me get fixed up and on my way.

I am sharing my experience regarding the South Sioux City clinic branch as a whole. First of all,…read moremy text reminders had my first name spelled without the "e". When I checked in for my appoint (30 minutes early), I mentioned this to the front desk person. Her response was short and dismissive that yes, that is what they have in their system. I told her I just didn't want any problems because of the misspelled name. Less than 15 minutes later, I was called up to the front desk only to be told that my insurance had denied coverage because my employer has my name spelled incorrectly (without an "e"). Bear in mind that I have worked at the same job and had the same insurance for 15 years and have never had a problem until now. I presented my insurance card and they STILL insisted my HR person has it wrong. They told me they would re-submit to my insurance, that it's no big deal and if I get a bill, they'll know they denied it again. I sat back down and continued waiting for my appointment. It was 25 minutes later (5 minutes after my appointment time) I heard reception holler out, "Lobby empty"....as I'm still sitting and waiting. Five minutes later, the same receptionist I worked with on my name hollers "Ma'am, Ma'am? Have you gone back?" I wanted to scream. She said she'd check on it. I sat there an additional 20 minutes before finally getting called back to see the doctor. The nurse apologized for the delay and that the doctor was having "a morning". I would have been fine waiting...IF someone would have said, the doctor is running behind, so please be patient. I felt disrespected and dismissed through the whole experience and will never go back there again. Unless I get a bill because insurance denied it again! While I have specific feedback for my medical provider, the actual clinic support staff and nursing team were rude and dismissive.

They didn't have the X-Ray machines that Google said they did, but the staff pointed us in the right direction to their location that did. The people behind the desk were very friendly when we told them the situation, and they lamented with us about it. (FYI - it ended up being that his foot was actually broken, once we got the scan! Ah!) Even though we didn't end up becoming patients of this urgent care, we did get to experience the great and helpful attitude of the staff. So I will definitely return here, if we do ever have another urgent care need!

By the way I had been there before. The only difference in the three of us is I'm a black male and the others were white. In observing this I came very close to confronting her regarding the differential treatment. Sometimes having to even ponder it gets exhausting! Nevertheless, the nurse and PA were both professional and kind. Hopefully my diagnosis is accurate.
