What hell is this fried fish in my fish soup.... Fake viet food..
    Eric S.

What the hell... A vietnamese restaurant that doesn't have hoisin sauce. Extremely slow service is an understatement. It's not even pho or fish soup. The most unauthentic or fake vietnamese food you can get. Terrible. You're not a smart person if you read this review and still come here. I can assure you all of the positive reviewers never had real vietnamese food and are naive in Asian cuisine. All of the positive reviews look very fake to me. Judge it yourself.. But save your money.

One of my favourite spots around Alexanderplatz. Fair priced Vietnamese food that is served quickly. Staff is super friendly and the vegan options are good. Always coming here if I need a vegan pho soup to warm me up.

Got recommended to go to Com Viet because they have "the best soup I've ever tried", so, on the first night in Berlin we went here to try it out and boy, they did not disappoint. It is a small place and from what I gather it is usually crowded (it was both of the times we were there). But we managed to get a small table for two. The interior consists of a lot of bambu, old paintings etc but not in a cheesy way, it fits the style of the place. We ordered two different soups and some spring rolls and the the young waiter was friendly and attentive. Upon receiving the spring rolls we were amazed, especially with the fresh spring rolls in rice paper, absolutely delicious if you're into that. I might have an affection for it since I've eaten this a lot in the past in the african cuisine with fish sauce, this time it was with some sort of vinegar, still good. After that we got one rice noodle soup with tofu and one glass noodle soup with surimi (I think) which were very tasty and the heat was well needed on this snowy evening in Berlin. I would say they were spicy enough, but since I am a fan of heat I did add some extra gunpowder to it. ;) And the price? I would say very cheap without affecting the quality of the food. The spring rolls where 1EUR each so I recommend starting with some of the fresh ones in rice paper (the fried where also good, but I myself am not that much into fried foods). There are a couple of things keeping this from being a five star review. We actually went here on another night with a couple of friends where we had to wait outside for about ten minutes to get a table, I don't mind that, as I said it is a popular place. But later during serving they forgot two of our dishes, one of which was a main course, which meant one of us had to sit and wait. A big no-no in restaurants I think, especially with such a long delay as this. On top of that it was a bit hard to get their attention this evening. So I can understand some of the negative reviews here, I guess it depends on the day and if you're a larger group (more than two ;)). That evening totaled us four about 20EUR with beverages, which again is quite cheap. Also remember, cash only!

Maybe choosed the wrong dish today (lunch menu A3). Have to put tons of chili, soja sauce etc. in it to make it tasty. Besides the dish I really like the style of the interior. Also the way they serve the food really reminds me of the small foods shops in Asia (see pics) . It's definitely the cheapest Asia takeaway around Alexanderplatz. Lunch menu from 3-6 EUR (one drink included). I will give Con Viet a second chance in the next days.

    Crispy duck lunch special

Excellent quality, quantity and price for the food! My husband and I came here for lunch and was quickly seated. I had the crispy duck lunch special (6€) and my husband had the beef pho (4€). The Vietnamese woman who took our order was very polite and patiently indulged our questions even though she had very limited English. Our food came out quickly and tasted amazing to the last bite! 5 stars all around. Would definitely go back.

Food is not that bad, and prices are fair. but they charged me 50 cents for tap water which is quite ridiculous, so only 3 stars.

Amazing Pho place. It is very delicious for 4,50€! Small and clean restaurant, traditional, kind staff. I love coming back there.

Great food. Cheap and fast. Although the waitress is not particularly friendly. Doesn't cost to smile.

This is a great value restuarant in the heart of Mitte. Around are over priced places so this one is always busy with locals.

Just plain terrible! There was a hair in my soup which also happened to be suspiciously chunky. Absolute disaster. Worst Asian food ever.

It is hard to get good vegetarian versions, since most dishes use fish sauce and you can't just substitute soy sauce and have it taste right unless you really know how to use the rest of the seasonings. Clearly, they do here. The place was very quiet, which is surprising, because it is a gem. I ordered a big bowl of soup which was new to me. It had coconut milk and peanuts with several kinds of mushrooms and rice noodles. Highly recommended. I wish I were staying longer so I can return.

As my wife is a vegetarian and I am not we always try to find the perfect place that makes us both happy. This might just be the one. Not once have I missed meat in any of their dishes. The food here is flavorful, rich, interesting, full of great textures and always presented with a smile. It beats hands down some of the more fancy and famous vegan and vegetarian restaurants in the neighborhood. To round things up: The have pretty great wine for little money. At present still a bit odd an insiders tip but I guess not for very long. My favorite dish on the menu is the No. 20. Highly recommended.

On a weekday…read moreit's probably the busiest place around, It has two small sections of dining room inside but the front patio is quite big and spacious so despite it being somewhat chilly and windy (and a few wasps) we decided to sit outside with a good view for people watching. We had spring rolls (they cut it up so it's a good sharing dish), glass noodle salad and shrimp curry. All pretty good although I'd expected the glass noodles to be spicier. Like most of the restaurants in this area it was cash only (or some kind of local debit card), no credit card which was a bit inconvenient but thankfully we managed since the price was quite reasonable -3 items plus a drink came to about 30 euros.

That combo is rare to come by - so no wonder why this place is always packed. The poor waitress is running around like crazy.. Everything on the menu looks great, and I can endorse both the summer rolls, as well as the fish and veggie curries. Kudos for using organic sweet potato. The mango lasso is a delight, while their take on the mohito is a bland affair. The only big drawback, and BIG it is.. there's now vegetarian pho on the menu! What's up with that??? If I'm lucky they'll put it on the daily specials board one of these days..
