The interior and decoration is still the same. Located in an old barn the setting is very simple and rustic. This place is huge, it can accommodate at least a few hundred people. They have a limited choice of wines which are inexpensive. Go for the whites, you can't go wrong there. The food menu is small. It concentrates on meat especially beef. Additional specials are on the blackboard or ask your server. In general service is attentive and efficient, even on a busy day. Their selection of appetizers is limited, a few soups. Go for the salad bar which is always the best choice. I come here for their steaks which they are famous for. They have 3-4 different cuts which are all very good. The tenderloin and sirloin come in small and big. If you're really hungry, go for the big ones. The meat is cooked to your liking and it's done perfectly. And don't forget to try their sides. I love their baked potato, which is loaded with butter and sour cream on the side. I'm a big fan of their homemade bernaise which is just great! Or go for the pan fried potatoes with bacon and onions, great stuff. Try the onions on the side, they go very well with the meat. Ignore the chanterelle mushrooms, as they're from a can, not fresh! Dessert menu is limited, mostly people choose ice cream. The Jägerhof serves honest food at a very reasonable price!

Service typical for German restaurant, not very hospitable but they did speak English well enough to help us. That's always a plus when you can't speak the native language. I'd eat there again. However, reservations are recommended.

Until the end of the meal when we wanted to pay and leave. Our server was a nice guy and spoke to us in Spanish...no idea why. I guess he figured I'd understand somehow. And I did. It was a nice break from German. APPETIZERS: They automatically bring the most awesome bread with 3 choices of schmear - aioli, butter with garlic and herbs or a spicy tomato paste (my favorite). This might fill you up, but if you've got a group, order the empanadas. 2 in an order for €7 and they are a fair size. 4 people can try them. I also got the tomato soup, which is super delicious. I ordered a filet steak with a pepper sauce, which was also very good, but milder. My steak was covered in capers. I'm not a fan of capers, but it didn't deter me from eating. If I liked mushrooms, I would have preferred the mushroom sauce. The quality of the filets was very high and they were cooked to perfection. Just wow! SIDES: The creamed spinach was very good. Today we tried to have lunch at Maredo, we have never had a worse lunch…read more It started with having to wait almost 50 minutes on our food, a salad and a steak. When we asked the waitress if we would have to wait much longer she became fairly aggressive and nearly shouted she was only doing her job and that waiting was normal on a Saturday afternoon. When our food finally came the steak was cold, most of it still raw, and the same was true for the fried chicken in the salad. While leaving we heard another couple on the next table also ask if they maybe forgot their order. There are no words to describe how bad the food and the service were while still being charged nearly €50,-. I would recommend to avoiding this restaurant at all costs!
