Motel 6 - Black mold around tub

5 Day stay-sheltered from Hurricane Laura PLUS…read moreMicrowave and small refrigerator. Needed for meals and snacks Furnishings in good repair and functional. Room is Clean. A/C was adjustable, and worked well against the Texas heat. Bed was large -king. Firm. Plenty of hot Water from Bathroom sink and shower faucets. NEUTRAL Situated on the corner of 2 busy highways, controlled by traffic light. During "business hours" numerous large commercial trucks roar as they accelerate from a stop. Plus, you'll hear the occasional screaming brakes. Lots of pickup trucks; the engines are not muffled, ofttimes considerably louder than the commercial trucks. The roar of these "modified" trucks are heard mostly during morning and evening commute. Night time, after 7 pm, the area is pretty quite. Only one chair- padded seat, steel frame office style. MINUS No bedside table lamps, although ceiling lighting was ample. No USB charging outlets, but wall outlets were well placed with open plug access. Be sure to bring a power strip. Bathroom tub and floor was in need of restoration. WiFi was spotty- here and gone. I'm sure your experience will be different. Over all. Nothing about the health and safety of this establishment should stop you from renting a room. Just be sure to shop the best price for these sparsely appointed rooms.

Take my word for it, DONT STAY HERE! I would rather a place be dirty from the moment you walk in…read moreyour room so you can see what you're dealing with and walk out. This one looks nice and OK until you settle in. The fact there were NO cars in the parking lot should have been my first clue! * Room reeked of animal urine; * NASTY stains in the sheets (pic) * Beds are old mattresses on a sheet of wood (no box spring!) (Pic) * Black mold around tub (pics) * Sludge around base of toilet (pic) * Accumulated dirt on carpet in corners (pic) * Carpet just thrown in, doesn't even fit (pic) * The only plug for tub was the rat sized glob of hair stuck in there. And good luck with front desk. They too are nice enough at first, and even seem to be able to communicate in English until there's a problem and then all of a sudden when there's an issue they "don't understand". When I showed the pics of the filth, I was told "No no, it is clean enough for this motel". That says everything right there. TRUST ME, spend $5 (just FIVE) MORE AND STAY ACROSS THE STREET. It isn't a winner either, but its better than here!

There was some sketchy things going on in this hotel. We will not stay there again. On a plus side the bed was comfy and the sheets were soft.

Terrible, Terrible, experience. I am 73 yrs old the worst hotel experience I have ever had and I…read morehave traveled extensively. Our two room paid in full rooms the Saturday before Easter began with one room no issues. I had a bit of an issue we took a while as the manager was training A new person. You should never train while making your customers wait. It was all downhill from there. my daughter arrived to check in she could not be found in the system even though she had paid in advance showing on her credit card statement. She was offered no assistance basically told by the manager, Jason not his problem but she could not have a room until he was paid. He offered no customer service to try to call the booking agent to resolve the issue even though his hotel was using them to book his rooms. She asked for a phone number to contact said he had none. He then gave some number that did not work. He was East Indian very hard to understand plus with a mask and behind a practice shield at the desk. He became quite rude and after an hour and 30 she left had to go to another establishment. My room was paid so I was taking my items in and I told her to give me her dog Bella to get her out of the car and get her water. He left the desk chased me down the hall saying you said you had no pets. I told him it was my daughters dog and she had been paid for. He told me the dog could not stay in my room unless I paid for it. I told him I was getting her water she had been in the car while all this hassle was going on. long story short my husband and I stayed as it was paid for and he would not refund our money to go elsewhere. we checked out about ten on Easter Sunday morning. We forgot a few hanging items in the closet. I called told them I wanted my clothes and would be by to get them. When I called an E Indian woman answered I asked her if she was in Groesbeck or India as I didn't want to explain to someone over there at their reservation call center about my clothes. She said yes she was in Groesbeck I said I would be to get my clothes. when I arrived the same guy from the day before this Jason started Harassing me why I asked her if she was in India went off on a rant about me being racist and half of What he was ranting about I couldn't understand. I needed up calling the police to get my clothes. These people have no business being in the hospitality business their customer service was horrible. I would sleep in my car before I ever stayed there again. We have a family farm in the area but on holidays not enough room for everyone to stay so we book rooms. We have stayed at another location with as many as six rooms and no hassle or rudeness. This Jason needs to be fired or put cleaning rooms away from the public. He also told the officer that came I was trying to sneak a dog into my room without paying even though my husband and myself and my daughter told him it was her dog. He was a Rude, angry man.

Fantastic staff, happy animals, well-kept facilities...what an incredible day we had. It feels like a dream. Easy day trip outing with the family or as a date- book your animal experiences online like we did at https://www.bluehillsranch.com . The staff was flexible to shift timing of the experiences so we didn't have to wait long in between- they were extremely accommodating and we never felt rushed either. The otter swim/playtime experience was originally what drew us, and it was even better than I'd imagined. Worth every penny! Then we got to feed and pet the capybaras, which were way friendlier than I thought they would be! The babies enjoyed some extra belly rubs too. Bottle feeding the kangaroo was so fun too- little Dundee was SO soft and loved all the pets, even gave us kisses! The giraffes were super friendly and greeted us every time we were nearby; feeding and getting quality time with them was an extra treat. The safari ride tour was also amazing- 5 of us fit comfortably and got to feed/see lots of animals that we wouldn't normally get to experience. We were surprised at how this place wasn't crowded at all in the middle of July when it is peak vacation season, so it really felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. They also have a beautiful main lodge area that is comfortable and welcoming with additional animals to enjoy.

Mostly they are nice but can be a bit food motivated and come right up to you expecting some snacks. The cabin we stayed in was just enough for our needs since it was just my husband and me. We did the guided safari and was amazed at the vastness of the area. Ryan our guide was amazing and so knowledgeable. We had a great time. Matt was extremely helpful. The entire staff is kind and willing to listen.
