i was surp! There isnt a lot around here - and on the way up I paid more and stopped somewhere that had a higher rating- it was not better!! The bed was clean, towels were in good shape (not frayed like the last hotel I was in) the breakfast was complete with pour your own waffles, staff friendly and helpful. The reason why they get such a lowcrating is their "view" is nasty. But I needed a bed and I didn't see outside till AM when I was on my way! read more

Clean rooms. There was a water slide in the pool, which was fun! Free coffee and water downstairs too. Only thing was blinds weren't intuitive, so I didn't know how to close them at night. I figured it out in the morning when it was too late but that's not their fault read more

Still travelling across the BC interior for work, I decided to stay a couple of nights at the CI. The less I have to move and pack up, the better so I always try to stay as long as possible in one place. Salmon Arm is a nice sleepy community with many seniors and families so this seemed like the perfect hotel to grab a goods nights sleep. What's that noise (as I look out my 4th room, King suite hotel room window)? A bus? WTF! But it was a bus load of Japanese tourists! But they're not usually the rowdy type. What would have given this hotel 4 or even 5 stars was if someone a little more professional would have served me and welcomed me as a rewards member. And perhaps if the hotel would have offered the usual recognitions for Rewards business members.Nadda like that here. No receipt under the door, no welcome gift, zero. That's probably what they will be receiving from me in terms of business next time, zero. What's the point of collecting thousands of points and being loyal to a specific brand if the little things get missed? Apart from not being greeted as a Choice Points (Platinum) member, I was given the usual run down of the services that the hotel offers. Breakfast, pool hours, gym etc... And speaking of breakfast, I was told that "breaky" will be served from 6-9am. "Breaky"? I'd probably understand the verbiage if I was dressed in a hoodie and jeans, but I was dressed professionally, company logo on my golf shirt and dress pants. I even had matching socks! Perhaps I'm just being too fussy but I've come to expect a certain level of service if I'm to stay loyal to a brand. Especially when you're living out of a suitcase 6-8 months out of the year. So ok, I shook my head on the way up to my room and still was going to give 5 stars to this hotel. It's clean and it's been quiet whenever I've stayed here. I also took it upon me to do some laundry, must have clean socks while on the road for 2+ weeks. Took myself downstairs to the main floor (where the laundry is located) and asked the same young "breaky" tattooed blond girl at reception if she could give me change for the washer and dryer. Gave her a $20, not complicated right? Well it seemed like a huge dilemma to her. Wat did I want? $15 and $5 in change? $10 in change??? Putting her out of her misery, I said "give me $10 in change and a $10 bill". I saw her counting out toonies, $8 worth and two loonies. So I asked, do the machines take toonies? She said yup and continued counting like a robot. I've done laundry in other hotels and have yet to find one that takes toonies in the washers or dryers. But hey, who was I to argue?! Well, they don't take $2 coins. I had to come back and ask the older lady at reception for loonies. At this point I decided, because of one employee and a lack of "the little things", 3 stars was plenty. But just in case I was going to change my mind and give them 4 stars, the hotel confirmed my 3 stars with no receipt under my door (as do the other hotels when you're a Platinum member). I asked why that was and the front desk informed me that they do but only upon request. Had I known I would have requested it!!! I'd probably recommend this hotel, it's in a great spot (a little hard to get to since you have to circle through the back road) but nonetheless nice. Service could always be way better and I'm finding more and more of this all across the country. If you don't like what you do, go do something else! I wonder if the Holiday Inn that was here prior closed down due to the same lack of service mentality. read more

This place is ok A little dated. Small dingy pool. Loud screaming kids. No supervision or concern from management about this. Surly senior front desk lady. Decent breakfast. We were pretty grossed out when we went to use the ice bucket and it was full of garbage and rotten food from previous guest. Thumbs up cleaning staff. I don't think we will be back. read more

We found our stay at this pet friendly hotel very comfortable and inviting. The staff behind the desk were very helpful, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and our furry friend got his own welcome pack with poopoo bags and doggy treats. The location is perfect; off the beaten path and therefore quiet, yet quick access to the main route of travel (hwy 1). There's a walking path and a neighbourhood nearby to walk the dog (and get some exercise). There are restaurants and liquor stores within walking distance, or a quick drive. The only downside is the stench of cigarette smoke on the second floor...either a portion of the second floor rooms are smoking rooms, or the second floor was formerly a smoking floor which has not been thoroughly cleaned. We will definitely stay again! read more

Smallish indoor pool open until 11PM, but there's a waterslide with a lifeguard until 9PM. For us, it's a clean, quiet place to relax on road trips between Calgary and Vancouver, conveniently located on the Trans-Canada highway (but traffic noise has not been a problem for us) a 5 minute drive from the downtown core. The included breakfast is served from 630-930AM. Free WiFi included, speed was OK. read more

We are on a 6 week road trip from Canada to California and back again, and this was the best value of any hotel that we stayed in the entire time! Breakfast was fantastic with tons of selection & well stocked, beds were comfortable and the pool was warm. The front desk attendant even loaned us a life jacket for our toddler. We had a HUGE room on the 3rd floor corner with windows on two sides and a nice mountain view. Staff was professional and friendly, even when the downstairs neighbor called to complain when our 2 year old ran around for 5 minutes while getting into her pjs after we returned from dinner. Couldn't have been happier with this hotel, would have stayed an extra night if we could! read more

The room on the 5th floor was a deal at the senior's rate. The key cards did not work the second day, so there had to be a quick fix at the front desk. The breakfast was not perfect. The apple juice was watery and the pancakes were unappetizing. The location was perfect for important visits to relevant family. Complimentary National Post newspaper in the lobby was welcomed by me. Everything was not perfect but I'm not a fussy person. I've stayed at the Comfort Inn before. read more

This was a quality hotel to stay at, but definitely not a 5 star accommodations!! You can't expect much more for Salmon Arm though!!

We stayed on the 5th floor, and it was the worst wifi we've ever had in any hotel. It may be better closer to the office. They had the best hot breakfast selection that we've ever seen, with 5 to 7 selections, depending on which morning. Even though they offered pancakes, French toast, and both regular and blueberry DIY waffles, they only offered regular pancake syrup. Blueberry syrup would've been nice, and berries and whipped cream even better. In addition to the usual apples and bananas, they also offered mini mandarin oranges, which were a nice change. The room was nice but a lot of little things needed attention, particularly the loose toilet seat. We had a king suite, which would be great for a family, as there was a second TV for the sofa bed. read more

I checked in with my family of three and was given a king size bed with a pull out sofa. There was a bit of a funny smell and the sofa didn't look very clean, but my daughter volunteered to sleep at the couch and let my wife and I sleep on the bed. The next morning, my daughter woke up with 4 bed bug bites on her face. My wife had bed bug bites on her neck, arm, and legs. It was very distressing for all of us. When we went to the front desk to express our concerns, the assistant manager came out to hear us out. We were pretty astonished to see her attitude when we courteously explained our situation. We shared about the bed bug bites in a very courteous and respectful manner, but instead of expressing any sense of sympathy or concern--she quickly told us that there shouldn't be any bed bugs because the customers the night before who stayed at the same room didn't get any. Then, she just rudely gave us the contact information for the general manager. Now, more than the bed bugs we were disappointed by their service and attitude. We were very reasonable and courteous in what we shared, but it almost seemed like she was insinuating that we brought the bed bugs with us or something. We wrote an email to the general manager, again respectfully and courteously explaining our situation on Saturday morning, and still have not received any response. Breakfast was very mediocre, service was horrible, and the room was subpar. We were very disappointed, and did not have a good stay here. read more

Stayed here for a hockey tournament, and I wish we had just made the two hour commute back home. We booked the suite which was supposed to have a separate family room area. Ummm ok there is a pull out. I guess that's the family room? The tv is not in front of it however so we all have to pile on the beds. We were told it would have two tvs. No such luck. Plus we were put right beside the elevator. It is tiled in the hall in front of them, so the sound bounces and I kept thinking the door was open. The main problem I have is when we booked the room we didn't realize our dog would have to be joining us. When I say dog it's using the term loosely as he weighs maybe 5 lbs soaking wet. We had a kennel with us, and we were prepared to keep him with us at all times. We were told they had no pet rooms available. So after phoning a kind of near by relative (45 minutes away)to come and rescue our pup from a cold night in the car, I find out maybe she could have cleaned a room for us. I'll admit I was not using my polite voice by the time I finished checking in. The funny thing is we saw people with dogs on all floors of the hotel, not just the "pet floor". The front desk ladies were very grumpy, and not helpful at all. I waited a while to post this as I believe you shouldn't post reviews when you are upset! read more
